Abstract: A button assembly configured for fast button attachment on a garment cloth. The assembly comprises a button with attached multiplicity of resilient flaps, and a pole connecting a hemisphere (or a cone) to a disk. Fast button attachment on the garment cloth is achieved by placing the disk with the attached hemisphere (or a cone) facing an inner side of the garment cloth while placing the button outside opposite the hemisphere (or cone). Next, pushing outwards the hemisphere (cone) pierces the cloth by the hemispherical (or the conical) dome and inserts it into the button. The female receptor includes resilient arms to hold and release the male member and a stop to prevent movement of the resilient arms in a second direction.

  • Patent number: 7318260
Abstract: A novel quick release locking mechanism is disclosed. The locking mechanism is comprised of a male latch member and a female receptacle. The male latch member is comprised of an arbor with a planar handle at its proximal end and a catch apparatus at its distal end. The arbor is further equipped with a slidable annulus that moves between the lower margin of the planar handle and the catch apparatus. The female receptacle is comprised of a housing and a duality of notched resilient arms. Operation of the locking mechanism is achieved by introduction of the male latch member into the female receptacle with sufficient force to urge open the resilient arms which then springably close around the catch means, thus locking the mechanism. The female receptacle is further supplied with appropriate stops to prevent separation forces from inducing upward travel of the resilient arms during use, thus increasing lock strength and durability.

Abstract: An earring includes a pin adapted to pass through a hole pierced in an ear or other body part. The pin has an enlarged, decorative end thereon which rests against one side of the ear with the pin extending through the hole in the ear, and a clutch which fits over the opposite end of the pin and rests against the opposite side of the ear to hold the earring therein. The clutch includes a spring for receiving the pin therein and having a reduced inside diameter intermediate turn thereof which is stretched by the pin as it passes therethrough. There is at least one circumferential receiving groove in the pin to receive and hold the reduced inside diameter spring turn. Thus, the clutch may be positioned so that the reduced inside diameter turn is received in one of the at least one grooves. This resists movement of the clutch along the pin. With multiple grooves the grooves are positioned along the pin so that for each groove, the earring comfortably fits a different size ear.

  • Patent number: 6094785
Abstract: The present invention relates to a snap arrangement comprising snap hooks (208) associated with a first housing (200) that snap over corresponding protrusions (111) in a second housing (100). The snap hooks preferably include an inclined portion (212) such that a finger (504) of a certain width of a removal tool (502) will force them apart to the deflection required for disassembly. Once the tool has been inserted beyond the elbow (213), the snap hook is not deflected any further regardless of the motion of the tool. This enables the tool to continue moving the front housing apart from the rear housing without further deflecting the snap hooks. This ensures that the snap hooks are never overstressed, that the front housing comes completely off of the rear housing every time, and that repeated disassembly will only minimally affect the strength of the snaps.
