Patent number: 12053060Abstract: A belt has a strap defining a fixed end and a loose end and a buckle engaging the strap. The buckle has a frame defining a channel between outer and inner portions thereof and the outer portion extends beyond the lower portion. A prong protrudes from an undersurface of the outer portion into the channel to engage one of a series of holes of the loose end of the strap passing through the channel. The buckle also has a separable chape connecting the fixed end of the strap and which fits through a rear entrance of the channel to releasably connect to the inner portion of the frame.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2021Date of Patent: August 6, 2024Inventor: Vincent Turner

Patent number: 11498201Abstract: A tool box-used buckling apparatus includes a buckle, a sleeve, a shaft and two limiting elements. The buckle includes two substantially parallel lateral strips. The lower shaft includes a middle section inserted in the sleeve and two terminal sections inserted in the lateral strips. The limiting elements extend toward each other from the lateral strips. The limiting elements are in contact with two ends of the sleeve, thereby keeping the sleeve on the middle section of the lower shaft.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2018Date of Patent: November 15, 2022Inventor: Yi-Min Li

Patent number: 9839264Abstract: In one aspect, the subject matter of the disclosure features a watch band. The watch band includes a strap and a clasp mechanism integrated with an end of the strap. The clasp mechanism includes a concave member defining a channel at the end of the strap and a cover plate. The cover plate is configured to move between (i) a first position in which the cover plate covers the channel, and (ii) a second position in which the cover plate is retracted to leave at least part of the channel uncovered by the cover plate.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2016Date of Patent: December 12, 2017Assignee: Google Inc.Inventors: Stephen Theodore Schooley, Frank Jay Ziberna, Roger Hsu, Keeline Burdick Wilcox

Patent number: 9427049Abstract: A latching system is operable to prevent inadvertent total release of two straps secured by the latching system as the two straps are being latched together. The latching system includes a buckle affixed to an end of a first strap and a plurality of fixed studs affixed to a second strap to be secured to the first strap. The plurality of fixed studs successively latch with the buckle as the second strap is pulled through a first section of the buckle. One of the fixed studs will catch in the buckle even if the first strap is pulled away from the second strap before latching is completed. Latching is completed by passing the second strap through a second portion of the buckle. In one embodiment, when latching is complete, two fixed studs engage the buckle to secure the second strap to the first strap.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2014Date of Patent: August 30, 2016Assignee: World's Best Halter, Inc.Inventor: Danny Shelton

Patent number: 7181808Abstract: A fastener is adapted to retain one or more holes of a belt or strap beneath a belt frame without passing through the frame. The fastener comprises primarily a frame and a back plate, coupled together for relative rotational movement about an axis parallel to the axial orientation of the strap. The frame also serves as a biasing member to engage a latch mechanism. The back plate anchors the member-to-be-secured, if it is a belt. Otherwise, if the member-to-be-secured is a strap to, for example, close a pocket, then the back plate is mounted to the body on which the pocket is mounted, such as a purse or a piece of luggage. A faux tongue gives the appearance of a known buckle, but the faux tongue does not pass through the belt or strap.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2006Date of Patent: February 27, 2007Inventor: Denzal Wayne Van Winkle

Patent number: 4672720Abstract: A fastener for bi-valve casts splints and other devices is disclosed which permits ease of use, change-ability of straps, reliability, convenience and detachability, that is, which permits repetitive attachment, removal and re-attachment. The fastener includes a base, attached to the device, a buckle universal mounted and detachably connected to the base, and a strap coupled to the buckle at one end and adapted to wrap the device and engage the buckle at its other end to secure the devices while preventing migration and rotation of the device from the original intended position.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1986Date of Patent: June 16, 1987Assignee: Corflex, Inc.Inventor: Theodore V. Patent number: 4541151Abstract: An articulated watch band provided with a catch mechanism interconnected by hinge joints is disclosed. One catch part is formed with a recess and the other part is formed with an extension snugly fitting the recess. To secure the extension in position within the recess, the extension is provided at its lower side with a stop plate and at its upper side with a movable arresting plate corresponding in shape to the outline of the extension, so that upon angular displacement of the upper plate or upon shifting the same in longitudinal direction of the strap, the plate overlaps the rims of the recess in the receiving catch part and prevents the displacement of the extension in vertical direction relative to its upper surface. Hinge joints of the strap include hinge tubes which are secured to the associated links or catch parts by laser-beam welding.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 1983Date of Patent: September 17, 1985Assignee: Rodi & Wienenberger AGInventors: Wolfgang Herchenbach, Dieter Nischwitz
