  • Patent number: 6165076
Abstract: A drive shaft cover assembly for a drive shaft having a longitudinal axis including a stationary bracket having an axially extending flange at least partially surrounding the drive shaft and having one or more radially extending apertures therethrough. A cover member has a retaining portion sized to fit radially over the flange with apertures therein aligned with the apertures in the flange. A spring retainer is disposed radially within the flange and has a stud projecting radially outward through each aperture in the flange and through the aligned apertures in the cover member to retain the cover member on the flange. The spring retainer is resilient to enable the studs to be pushed radially inward to withdraw the studs from the apertures in the cover member to remove and remount the cover member on the flange without the use of hand tools.

  • Patent number: 6141834
Abstract: A clamping apparatus for a hose or another suitable tubular member. A coiled band forms an opening within which the hose or other tubular member is positioned. The coiled band forms an inner band, a middle band and a outer band. The middle band is sandwiched between the inner band and the outer band. A retainer is positioned about the inner band and the outer band, to retain the inner band, the middle and the outer band in a sandwiched position with respect to each other. Two or more projections extend radially inward, toward the opening formed by the coiled band, from the inner band. The projections interfere with the retainer to limit movement of the retainer in two directions, opposite to each other, along a longitudinal axis of the band.

  • Patent number: 4648157
Abstract: Method of assembly of the shell with the strap of a clamping collar, and collars obtained with this method. This method consists in fixing the strap under the shell of the collar and no longer by passage inside the latter. With this in mind the shell (7) has, in the part forming its base (8), cut-outs preferably forming two tongues provided between remaining parts of the base. These tongues are cranked and the shell is fitted over the strap in a straddling position. The tongues are then flattened, the force applied preferably causing the corresponding strap portion (2) to penetrate by bending into the opening thus formed in the base of the shell. A non-slip bond is obtained between the shell and the strap owing to raised parts of the strap penetrating into the cut-out or opening in the base of the shell and forming immobilization stops.

  • Patent number: 4425682
Abstract: A clamp useful for connecting fluid-conveying hoses and the like to couplings, valves and the like. The clamp is formed of a spring metal strip which has portions of its longitudinal parallel linear edges cut to provide a pair of parallel inclined linear edges such that the original constant width of the strip is gradually reduced toward the longitudinal opposite ends of the strip so that the width of the strip varies in proportion to the bending moment produced in the strip, with the thus narrowed opposite ends being bent in mutually opposed relation to provide operating knobs for forcibly spreading the ring diameter. The spring metal strip thus prepared is then wound into a ring of right circle, with the inclined linear edges abutting against each other along a given length, thereby ensuring uniform bending stress throughout the ring.
