Abstract: A clip is adapted to hold a pair of cylindrical members in spaced juxtaposition. The clip comprises an integral body defining a pair of internal circular recesses, a central chamber connecting the recesses, and an opening permitting ingress into the central chamber. The opening has a width less than the diameter of each of said cylindrical members intended to be held therein. The diameter of each recess is slightly less than the diameter of the cylindrical members. When in the recesses, the pair of members are in substantially tangential contact. This orientation of recesses, internal chamber, and opening provides compound forces and plural flexures necessary to overcome in order to attach the clip to the cylindrical members or to detach it from them. This permits the clip to be made more flexible while maintaining a high ability to hold the cylindrical members within the clip.

  • Patent number: 5115542
Abstract: A reusable hose separating clip comprises an elongate one piece plastic unit including a living hinge centrally located along the length thereof. The hinge forms two clip halves thereabout which are substantially mirror images of one another except for the latching structure at the free end of each half. Each hinge half includes arcuate areas separated by flats, with corresponding arcuate areas on the clip halves defining circular channels therebetween for engaging hoses therein when the clip halves are pivoted together about the hinge and the latch structures are engaged. When the clip halves are engaged, the corresponding flats are spaced from one another to allow for use with oversized or swelled hoses.

  • Patent number: 5109579
Abstract: A fishing rod clamping device for holding a two-section fishing rod with the sections disassembled, ready for reassembly with each other, is a one-piece modified tube of resilient material having first, second, third and fourth portions joined by first, second and third webs and having opposite ends. The first, second and third portions are cylindrical and the tube further has a slit that runs lengthwise of the first, second and third portions and is interrupted by the webs. The slit enables releasable engagement of one cylindrical portion with another cylindrical portion or with a rod section. The fourth section is disclosed as an additional cylindrical portion that is engageable with the second cylindrical portion and may be cemented thereto. If cemented to the second cylindrical portion, the fourth portion need not be cylindrical. The opposite ends of the tube are provided by end bevels.

  • Patent number: 5092553
Abstract: An improved mounting assembly is disclosed. The assembly is utilized in combination with floor-treating machinery structure (28 or 54 or 152). The mounting assembly comprises a U-shaped bracket (100), a threaded fastener (102), and a strap clamp (108). The U-shaped bracket (100) has tines (118) that are so spaced-apart and dimensioned relative to the liquid container cover (35) as to engagingly abut circumferential portions of the liquid container cover (35). The strap clamp (108) is of a length, relative to the circumference of the liquid container cover (35), that is sufficient for removably securing the liquid-container cover (35) to the U-shaped bracket (100).

  • Patent number: 5079802
Abstract: The present invention is a suction hose clip for connecting an accessory hose, an accessory cable or the like to the suction hose of a vacuum cleaning device. The clip is generally ring-shaped with an open side defining two opposing ends. The clip has an accessory receiving area positioned generally opposite to the open side. Oppositely facing hook portions are provided at the two opposing ends and engage with each other to provide a hook over hook closure to close the clip around a suction hose. A rib projects from the inner wall of the clip to engage the corrugated surface of a suction hose and keep the clip from sliding along the length of the suction hose.

Abstract: An improved fastener for releasably securing bicycle accessories to a bicycle frame is disclosed. The fastener is formed with an integral body of a hard resilient polymer including a pair of opposed retainer portions and a medial portion therebetween. One retainer portion has an opening defined by a flexible pair of jaws with inner surfaces presenting a curved seat for snugly receiving a part of a bicycle frame ranging in diameter from one to about 11/2 inches. The medial portion acts as a buffer for mechanically and flexibly isolating the pair of retainer portions from each other and features a cusped opening. The other retainer portion is formed with a cross sectional opening including circular, rectangular, oval, crescent-shaped, pentagonal, hexagonal and octogonal. The pair of jaws are secured to the bicycle part by either a bent bolt, a straight bolt or a sex bolt.

  • Patent number: 4999885
Abstract: A clip for orderly arrangement and identification of flexible lines such as hospital intravenous tubing has a pocket for grasping the tubing and interengaging protrusions and engagement holes whereby the clip can be chained in a line with other similar clips. The clip has a pair of arms attached at one end to a base, free ends of the arms being attachable to the base of another clip. The base has engagement holes for receiving snap-in protrusions on the free ends of the arms, the arms being spaced and the protrusions preferably protruding outwardly for insertion into engagement holes on the inside of a cavity in the base after compressing the arms together with finger pressure. Tubing or wiring which is grasped by the clips is thus maintained in neat and orderly spaced relation. The clips can be coded by color, shape or the like and are preferably placed at spaced positions along the tubes for identifying a specific tube without tracing it back to its source of destination.
