Having Intermediate Connector Allowing Movement Patents (Class 24/344)
  • Patent number: 8991448
Abstract: A covering system includes a tarp made of an elastic membrane and a plurality of tarp fastening hooks. The fastening hooks allow the elastic membrane to be stretched over valuables and affixed to environmental anchors so that creases and puddle-enabling pockets in the membrane are eliminated. The fastening hooks clamp onto the elastic membrane and hook onto the environmental anchors to cause tension in the membrane. The clamping forces of the tarp fasteners are inherently increased in proportion to the tension in the clamped membrane.

  • Patent number: 7996963
Abstract: A clip system for use with tarps and other flexible sheet material. The system includes first and second parts that are rotatably mounted so as to be free to twist independently of one another, in response to wind or other forces. The first part may be a clip body having jaws for gripping a tarp or other flexible sheet material, and the second part may be an attachment fitting for engaging an article separate from the tarp. There may be a series of different attachment fittings that are interchangeably mountable to the clip body, such as a hook, a screw-on fitting for attachment to a bottle that forms a weight, or a fitting for attachment of a strap or shock cord, for example. The two pieces may be joined by a male coupler and a female receptacle that receives the coupler in locking engagement. The male coupler may have a plurality of resiliently flexible legs with beveled end surfaces that flex inwardly to pass through the opening of the female receptacle.

  • Patent number: 6684465
Abstract: A ratchet clip is comprised of first and second jaws hinged together at proximal ends. A serrated member is attached to the proximal end of the first jaw. Teeth on the serrated member are angled against the opening direction of the second jaw. An intermediate portion of a ratchet lever is hinged to the second jaw. An inner portion of the lever is engaged against the teeth on the serrated member, and an outer portion is positioned through a hole in the second jaw. A spring positioned between the proximal ends of the jaws bias the distal ends of the jaws away from each other. One end of the spring is arranged to bias the outer portion of the lever outward, and the inner portion against the serrated member. When the lever is depressed, its inner portion is disengaged from the serrated member to allow the jaws to open.

  • Patent number: 4576321
Abstract: An apparatus for connecting a strip of photographic paper to a flat conveyor belt includes an elongated member having at a first end thereof a hook for fitting over one edge of the flat conveyor belt. The elongated member has a supporting portion spaced from the hook and adapted to have attached thereto a strip of photographic material. A slide member is mounted for longitudinal sliding movement along a portion of the length of the elongated member between the hook and the supporting portion thereof. The slide member has projecting therefrom an integral inclined tab for engaging the other edge of the flat conveyor belt. A toggle and spring structure constantly urge the slide member toward the hook, thereby ensuring that opposite edges of the conveyor belt continuously are clamped between the hook and the tab.

  • Patent number: 4510654
Abstract: A holder for filter bags for preparing tea and similar beverages. A clamping body is provided which is embodied in a manner similar to a hair clip, and has three legs which extend approximately parallel to one another. The two outer legs are preloaded relative to one another in a known manner in such a way that they can be brought out of one stable end position (closed position) by closing the angular aperture between the central leg and the two outer legs into the other stable end position (closed position), in which respective slot-like, narrow openings remain between the edges of the central leg and the respectively adjacent edges of the two outer legs. Also provided is a chain, one end of which is fastened to the clamping body, and the other end of which is provided with a hook which is suitable for fastening the chain on components of a brewing container.

  • Patent number: 4308981
Abstract: A clip hanger for suspending trousers or skirts especially used in laundries. The clip hanger comprises an inverse V-shaped clip body having two resilient clamp arms, a resilient hook mounted on an upper hook mounting base of the clip body and a resilient loop which is disposed around the clamp arms so as to narrow an acute angle of the clamp arms when in used. With the simple narrowing operation, a desired clamping force is exerted between the clamping ends of the clamp arms without necessitating a metal spring means which a conventional clip hanger requires for clamping purposes.
