Protrusion On Pull Tab Directly Engaging Interlocking Surfaces Patents (Class 24/419)
  • Patent number: 5956819
Abstract: A concealed slide fastener slider comprises: a slider body having a guide post on which an attachment lug stands; a resilient locking lever attached at one end to the attachment lug and having at the other end a locking pawl retractably inserted into an element guide channel of the slider body; a clamp having an aperture and a central bent portion bent in an inverted L shape so that the clamp can fall flat to a rear side of the slider body; and a pull tab loosely threaded through the aperture. When a cloth is jammed between the slider body and the clamp, only a front part of the clamp assumes an upright posture but a rear part of the clamp to which the pull tab is attached assumes a horizontal posture, thus causing the pull tab to rest on the cloth.

  • Patent number: 5930874
Abstract: A pull-tab connector capable of attaching a pull tab with a flat or round strap, simply. A connecting ring, which is adapted to be attached to a slider body, is connected to an outer side of a central frame of a U-shaped bracket of the connector. Opposite side frames of the U-shaped bracket have a pair of horizontal slots in which a strap-turning bar is slidably and rotatably received and a pair of axial holes in which a strap-insertion bar is rotatably received. The strap-insertion bar has a strap-insertion through-hole. In use, the strap is firstly threaded through the strap-insertion through-hole of the strap-insertion bar and is then turned around the strap-turning bar, and finally pulled out from the strap-insertion through-hole again. The opposite ends of the strap are pulled to be aligned with each other. Then, the strap can be attached to the connector in a simple operation and is exchangeable with another strap as desired.

  • Patent number: 5911369
Abstract: A pull-tab connector for attaching a pull tab's round strap to a slider body is composed of a connector body and a connecting ring on one end of the connector body. The connector body has a transverse through-hole t a side toward the connecting ring, and a pair of longitudinal strap-insertion holes communicating with and perpendicularly to the transverse through-hole and opening to the other end of the connector body and to opposite sides of the connector body via a pair of inwardly tapering longitudinal inlet openings. The strap is inserted through the transverse through-hole and then forced into the longitudinal holes from the respective inlet openings, whereupon opposite ends of the strap are laterally aligned and then pulled to tighten the strap. Thus the strap can be threaded through the connector body simply and neatly, and the threaded strap can be exchanged with another as a demand arises.

  • Patent number: 5884373
Abstract: In an auto-lock slide fastener slider, a slider body has on an upper wing front and rear attachment lugs and at a position near the rear attachment lug between the two lugs a locking-pawl-insertion hole and in front of the hole a forwardly sloping guide surface. An axle of a pull tab is movably supported on the guide surface. Over the pull-tab axle, a locking leaf spring, which has at one end a locking pawl, at the other end a hook and at the center a resilient tongue punched out upwardly so as to form a longitudinal opening, is placed on the upper wing so as that the locking pawl is inserted in the hole while the hook is slidably engaged with the front lug, and that a central projection is loosely inserted through the opening 23. A cover is mounted on the front and rear lugs so as to define a gap between the cover and the front lug. When the spring is moved forwardly, the locking pawl comes into contact with a front wall of the hole, so that the locking pawl can be protected.

  • Patent number: 5621954
Abstract: In a slider for a slide fastener, front and rear attachment lugs are arranged on the upper surface of an upper wing of a slider body, each having a horizontal insertion hole and an arcuate guide surface contiguous to the insertion hole. A pull tab retaining bar has a length so as to bridge over the front and rear attachment lugs and has a pair of taper legs one on each end. For assembly, with a pintle of a pull tab placed between the two attachment lugs, the legs are forced into the insertion holes along the guide surfaces as they deform prastically, securing the pull tab retaining bar to the attachment lugs. Accordingly, the pull tab retaining bar can be attached to the slider body simply by pressing from the upper side, thus facilitating automatic assembling.

  • Patent number: 4829638
Abstract: In an automatically locking slider in which a pull tab is pivotally connected at its spindle portion to a housing having a built-in locking member and mounted on a upper wing of a slider body, a pull tab carrier is slidably mounted on the upper wing for movement between a closed position to prevent the spindle portion of the pull tab from being removed from the housing and an open position to release the spindle portion from the housing. The pull tab is normally urged to the closed position. Thus the pull tab is detachable for replacement with another.

  • Patent number: 4827580
Abstract: A lockable slider for a slide fastener is disclosed which has a locking prong integral with a pull tab and engageable between two adjacent fastener elements. The locking prong has a rounded apex, an arcuate slide surface and a vertical lock surface, said slide surface extending a length greater than the space or pitch between adjacent elements such that the locking prong can move freely in sliding relation to the rows of fastener elements on the fastener when the latter is opened.

  • Patent number: 4780938
Abstract: A slide fastener slider includes an arch-shaped lug having a rear free end spaced from the top surface of an upper wing by a first gap larger than the diameter of the spindle of a pull tab, and a closure member slidably mounted in the upper wing and having a first closure projection normally disposed adjacent to the rear free end of the lug to substantially close the first gap. In order to prevent objectionable lateral oscillation of the pull tab relative to the lug without increasing the stroke of the closure member, the lug has on its underside an intermediate partition wall spaced from the top surface of the upper wall by a second gap at least equal to the first gap, and the closure member has a second closure projection normally disposed adjacent to the partition wall to substantially close the second gap.

  • Patent number: 4768263
Abstract: An automatic lock slider for a slide fastener includes a locking prong spring-biased to protrude into a Y-shaped guide channel in a slider body. • Patent number: 4719673
Abstract: An automatic lock slider for a slide fastener provided with discrete coupling elements includes a locking prong which is movable into and out of a guide passage in the slider. The prong has a cam surface downwardly canted at an angle of 20.degree.-30.degree. which represents the critical point at which the coupling elements would otherwise become displaced or dislodged when subjected to stresses tending to spread apart the fastener chain, and the cam surface initiates at a position above the upper end surface of the coupling element. This arrangement facilitates passage of the fastener chain underneath the locking prong without marring the coupling elements when external forces are exerted on the fastener chain.
