    Abstract: A device for securing a towel includes a pair of opposed clamping members, adjoined at one end, free at the other end and defining an opening with a v-shaped space therebetween. The opening of the space is preferably sufficiently wide to engage at least two layers of a towel. The clamping members are generally rigid but sufficiently flexible so that they may be deflected to increase the space therebetween. The inner surfaces of the clamping members include protrusions to enhance gripping friction without snagging or damaging the towel.     Abstract: Presented is a quick-engaging and quick-release device for securely supporting elongated objects in either a horizontal or vertical attitude on a vertical support structure or surface or overhead on an appropriate support surface. A base member has end and side walls. Two oppose side walls are correspondingly notched. A resiliently deformable block of cushioning material may be removably inserted into the hollow shell so that it is flush with the top edges of the end and side walls. A hollow cap member is pivotally attached to the base member and may be pivoted away from the base member into open position to receive an elongated object. When the hollow cap member is pivoted into closed condition, the elongated object is retained by and between the base member and the cap member. A latch assembly is provided for selectively releasably locking the cap and base members in closed condition about the elongated object.

    Abstract: A clip for a sheet electrode, which is capable of easily and reliably pinching a sheet electrode, and capable of minimizing the number of parts, thus facilitating the assembling. This clip is constructed such that a movable plate (20) provided with slots (25) to be engaged with supporting axes (13) is engaged with a substrate (10) having the supporting axes (13), and a conductive leaf spring (30) which is bent in the near middle thereof is interposed between the substrate and movable plate so as to keep them in an opened state. After the insertion of a sheet electrode (50), the movable plate is pivoted against the force of the leaf spring so as to close and pinch the sheet electrode. When the movable plate is further shifted forward along the slots, the movable plate is fixingly engaged with the substrate, thereby maintaining the pinching of the sheet electrode.

    Abstract: A system for deterring theft is made up of a clamp for attaching to a small item of merchandise such as a wallet, check book wallet or pocketbook and a spreading tool for attaching the clamp to and removing it from the item. The clamp is a generally U-shaped clamp having two clamping arms with a relatively strong biasing force between them. Padding is provided on the inside surfaces of the clamping arms. At least one of the clamping arms is provided with teeth which, when the clamp is attached to the item, will cut into the surface of the item if an attempt is made to slide the clamp relative to the item. The spreading tool opens the clamping arms against the biasing force to allow the clamp to be attached to or removed from the item. The preferred tool has biasing springs which tend to keep the jaws in a nearly closed equilibrim position. In a second embodiment a sliding retainer keeps the clamp in place relative to the spreading tool while the clamp is being attached to the item.

    Abstract: A surgical clip intended to be used with conventional instruments for applying surgical clips, such as those marketed by the United States Surgical Corporation (U.S. Surgical), is disclosed in which the clip fits within and is operated by the movable jaws in the U.S. Surgical Applier but the clip is constructed so as to provide a circumferential closing of the clip around the duct or vessel. The conventional movement of the jaws of the applier operates with the initially open surgical clip, which under pressure by the parallel movement of the jaws, closes about the duct or vessel being occluded and firmly holds the duct in place by capturing the duct between upper and lower arms of the clip.
