  • Patent number: 7823585
Abstract: A snorkel clip made up of two substantially rigid elements, which are designed to wrap at least half way around a snorkel tube, overmolded with a substantially flexible element to create a simple, aesthetically pleasing device. The snorkel clip also includes a hinge region created as part of the substantially flexible element. This hinge region allows the snorkel clip to flex or bend so that one of the rigid elements may be disengaged and pulled away from the riser tube of the snorkel, so that a mask strap may be attached to and removed from the snorkel, while the other rigid element remains attached to the riser tube in a generally secure manner. The substantially flexible portion may also include several cut out sections to provide visual and tactile access to portions of the substantially rigid elements for utility and aesthetic design.

Abstract: A clamp assembly is provided for clamping tubular parts to a vehicle frame. The clamp assembly includes a first housing attached to a vehicle frame member and a second housing for attaching to the first housing. A first clamp member is received by the first housing. The first clamp member has recesses formed in an outer surface thereof for receiving tubular parts, and has grooves spaced apart from the outer surface for receiving other tubular part. The first clamp member includes a guide member which is received by a slot formed in the first housing. The first clamp member also includes a post which projects therefrom. A second clamp member is compressed between the second housing and the first clamp member, and the second tubular parts are held between the first clamp member and the second clamp member. The second clamp member includes a bore which receives the post. The first and second housings enclose the clamp members and the tubular parts.

Abstract: A clamping device with a housing, a spindle which is rotationally mounted in the housing, and an elastic clamping element, the clamping element being movable by application of a force out of a first position in which the spindle can be turned into a second position in which the spindle is clamped by the clamping element. The clamping element has an inner cylinder which surrounds the spindle to be clamped, an outer cylinder which is located coaxially to the inner cylinder, and a membrane which connects the inner cylinder to the outer cylinder. The clamping element is annular and roughly cup-shaped with an opening in the middle of the clamping element so that the inner cylinder surrounds the spindle to be clamped. The clamping element is shaped and arranged such that, by applying a force to the clamping element the curvature of the membrane can be changed.

Abstract: An elastic clip that can be fabricated and assembled easily includes a first clipping blade, a second clipping blade, a pin and an elastic reed. The first clipping blade and second clipping blade face each other, and have respectively a pair of lugs in the middle corresponding to each other. Each lug has a transverse notch and a pin hole at a tail end of the notch to be wedged in transversely by the pin to couple the first and second clipping blades. The pin serves as a movement axis. The elastic reed is disposed between the first and second clipping blades by pushing from a rear side. The elastic reed has a first side blade and a second side blade retained by the first and second clipping blades, and a curved portion in the middle to press and surround the pin. Thus assembly can be done quickly and labor cost can be reduced. It provides significant improvements over the conventional elastic clip.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses described herein provide for the attachment of solar collectors to a structural framework in a solar array assembly. A flexible clip is attached to either end of each solar collector and utilized to attach the solar collector to the structural framework. The solar collectors are positioned to allow a member of the framework to engage a pair of flexible clips attached to adjacent solar collectors during assembly of the solar array. Each flexible clip may have multiple frame-engaging portions, each with a flange on one end to cause the flexible clip to deflect inward when engaged by the framework member during assembly and to guide each of the frame-engaging portions into contact with a surface of the framework member for attachment.
