Patent number: 9668457Abstract: A disjoinable loop is disclosed. The loop is curvilinear with a flat side, the flat side being separable from itself to disjoin the loop. On the other side of the disjoinable flat side are flanges which are mechanically connected to, and operable by, a switch which causes the loop to either join or become disjoined. In some embodiments, the default position is to have a joined loop, while in others the default position is to have a disjoined loop. An extension arm separates the switch from the loop. A bag placed over the loop is used to catch excrement falling from an animal and, upon joining the loop together, the bag falls from the loop. In this manner, one can easily collect pet or other waste into a bag.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 2016Date of Patent: June 6, 2017Inventor: Michelle Irons

Publication number: 20130116098Abstract: A clamp device is for use with an elastic band and includes first and second clamp components and a coupling unit. The first clamp component has a resiliently deformable clamping arm portion connected to one end of a connecting arm portion, cooperating therewith to define a clearance, and defining a clamping side. The second clamp component has a clamping side disposed to confront that of the first clamp component. The coupling unit couples the two clamp components together in a manner that permits relative movement of the clamp components between a non-clamping state and a clamping state. In the clamping state, the clamping arm portion of the first clamp component deforms to contract the clearance and the clamping sides of the clamp components clamp cooperatively and tightly a portion of the elastic band therebetween.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 17, 2012Publication date: May 9, 2013Applicant: ZMI ELECTRONICS, LTD.Inventors: YUTA LEE, Po-Ming Yang

Patent number: 6698071Abstract: A clip for sheet materials comprising a clip member and a collar member. The clip member is made of resilient material such that the clip member may be deformed from a normally open configuration into a closed position. The clip member defines first and second finger portions that do not engage each other when the clip member is in the open configuration and engage each other when the clip member is in the closed position. The collar member defines at least one latch portion, a lever portion, and a housing interior. The collar member is made of resilient material such that applying a force to the lever portion causes the collar member to deform from a normally engaged configuration to a disengaged configuration.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2003Date of Patent: March 2, 2004Assignee: Homax Products, Inc.Inventors: Lester R. Greer, Jr., Randal W. Hanson, Wilfred Joseph Hoffmann

Patent number: 6374463Abstract: A preferred clip includes a body formed from a length of band-like material. The body incorporates a back portion and first and second abutment portions extending outwardly from the body portion. Free ends of the abutment portions are formed at opposing ends of the body and are configured to engage each other. A pair of fingergrips also are provided that are configured with two legs that are spaced from each other. Each of the fingergrips include a gripping end and a pair free ends, with the free ends being retained at respective free ends of the abutment portions. Additionally, a corner-receiving opening is formed through the back portion, with the corner-receiving opening being characterized by a width greater than the spacing of the legs of the fingergrips. So configured, the corner-receiving opening may receive therethrough a corner portion of a stack of sheets of material.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2000Date of Patent: April 23, 2002Inventor: Kenneth J. Patent number: 5402558Abstract: A resilient clip or spring clip is disclosed which has a pair of jaw members and a generally U-shaped biasing member for connecting the jaws together and for biasing the jaws into a closed position. The biasing member has a pair of legs connected by a curvilinear central portion and a curvilinear support portion interior thereof. The central portion and support portion are connected by a bridge-like member, and define a channel therebetween. The sidewall of each jaw member has a closed sidewall extending along a substantial portion thereof and defines an arcuate surface. During actuation of the clip, the sidewall traverses through the channel in the biasing member, while the support portion defines and serves as a fulcrum for rotation of the jaws between the open and the closed positions, independently of any separate support member.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 1994Date of Patent: April 4, 1995Assignee: Selfix, Inc.Inventor: Frank J. Patent number: 4559245Abstract: Paint shield holders and shielding methods form a pair of planar sheets and an interconnecting resilient bight portion into a clip for receiving a planar edge portion of a paint shield between major surfaces which in area are a multiple of a cross-section of each planar sheet perpendicular to the major surfaces. The resilient clip is employed to bias the planar sheets at their major surfaces into frictional engagement with the contacted planar edge portion of the inserted shield. Instead of nuts, bolts or other fasteners, the mentioned frictional engagement is employed as the only agency at the major surfaces of the planar sheets for holding the planar edge portion of the shield in place upon mere manual insertion of the shield at the planar edge portion into the clip.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 1983Date of Patent: December 17, 1985Inventor: William C.
