Abstract: A snap button wherein when a male snap is removed from a female snap, a rotation between the snaps is limited, but is permitted normally. A male-side grooved surface is provided on a male snap radially outward from a projection of the snap with a plurality of grooves formed so that peaks and troughs of the grooves are arranged continuously in the circumferential direction. A female-side grooved surface similar to the male-side grooved surface is provided on a female snap radially outward from a projection-receiving space of the snap. The female-side grooved surface is inclined relative to the male-side grooved surface. When the male snap is removed from the female snap, each axis of the male snap and the female snap, which are yet in a coupled state, inclines relative to each other, causing the male-side grooved surface and the female-side grooved surface to partially engage with each other.
Abstract: A device for coupling two or more items such as luggage, which includes a longitudinal length of material with first and second groups of snaps at each end thereof for looping the longitudinal ends of the longitudinal length of material and a third group of snaps intermediate the ends for the purpose of forming an interior loop of the longitudinal length of material and thereby increasing/decreasing the length of the longitudinal length of material.
Abstract: A housing (10, 12, 14) has first and second flexible membranes (32, 42) dividing it into two sealed chambers plus a third chamber from which the movable member (38) projects. Each membrane co-operates with a respective cup (40, 50) and return springs (54, 56) tend to urge both cups away from an end wall (26). The two cups are interconnected by a single piece member (58) which is inextensible but which can readily be bent in two to enable the cups to come into contact with one another. Each sealed chamber can individually be selectively connected to a source of reduced pressure via a respective orifice or pipe fitting (30, 28). The position of the movable member (38) can thus be changed.
Abstract: A snap-fit buttom assembly comprises a female and a male member both molded and adapted to be coupled together with a snap-fit and a pair of tack members adapted to be joined with the female and male members for attachment thereof to a pair of fabric pieces separately. The female member, which is composed of a circular plate-like base and a cylindrical socket integral therewith, has along its periphery a plurality of openings each extending through the base and merging with the socket's bore receptive of a plug of the male member. The openings are angularly aligned, about the axis of the female member, with a plurality of inwardly directed locking projections of the socket. In production, the female member can be molded on a pair of mold halves; one mold half for shaping the base has a plurality of projections each having a contour corresponding to the shape of the individual opening.
