Abstract: A system and a method for dispersing by circulating a mixture that simplifies the structure of the part for sealing a shaft of a dispersing device and lengthens the life of the device are provided. The system for dispersing by circulating a slurry or liquid mixture to disperse substances in the mixture comprises a rotating and continuously dispersing device that disperses the mixture, a tank that is connected to an outlet of the dispersing device, a circulating pump that circulates the mixture, and a piping that in series connects the dispersing device, the tank, and the circulating pump. In the dispersing device the outflow of the mixture is greater than the inflow so that an amount of the mixture in the dispersing device is maintained at a level where a part for sealing a shaft that is provided inside the dispersing device is not immersed.

Abstract: A three roll mill having a feed roll, a center roll, and an apron roll with that are driven so that their cylindrical surfaces move in the same direction but different speeds in each nip. One end of each roll is engaged by a drive shaft at a first side of the mill, whereas the other end of each roll rotates freely at a second side of the mill. Each roll can be removed individually and without tools by moving the roll away from the first side against a spring force in the second side. This disengages the roll from its drive shaft, whereupon it can be lifted out of the mill.

The first stage shredder comprises two knife shaft assemblies with a plurality of sequentially oriented knives and spacers on hexagonal shafts. A second stage shredder accepts the output of the first stage shredder. The second stage shredder has two counter rotating shafts with saw tooth disk knives and separating spacers and cuts the paper finer than that of the first stage shredder. A third stage shredder may be connected to the second stage shredder providing even further paper size reduction. Each of the second stage shredder and third stage shredder may be disengaged from the shredding process. The first stage, second stage and third stage shredders are interlocked electronically so that if any stage suffers a jam the preceding stages are stopped. The jammed stage is reversed to remove the jam and all preceding stages stop until a signal is provided to restart.

Abstract: Crushing finely the chipped rubber such as that of waste tire is done by further small number of crushers, and the capture rate of the target size of the rubber particles is improved. With a crusher which finely crushes the chipped rubber (G) such as that of waste tire, the chipped rubber (G) is supplied to a crusher (10a) structured by a rotating roll (12) having relatively rough groove pitch and pluralities of fixed blades (14) each of which has pluralities of grooves forming crushing edges, thus conducting crushing. The rubber particles (G) discharged from the crusher (10a) are again supplied to the crusher (10a) to repeat the crushing to conduct rough-finishing operation. Then, thus roughly-finished rubber particles (G) are treated by similar crushing operation using a rotating roll (10b) having relatively small groove pitch to conduct finish treatment. The finely-crushed rubber particles are classified using a sieve (16) to specified size ranges.

  • Patent number: 5904305
Abstract: A rubber reduction and recycling system with dramatically reduced power requirements. The present invention provides a series of reduction stations which successively reduce the size of the rubber, typically in the form of tires, to eventually result in crumb rubber. The power requirements are dramatically reduced by providing a fixed cutting plate through which the teeth of the cutting apparatus pass and cut the rubber in a shearing fashion. Moreover, the teeth of the cutting apparatus pass through the fixed cutting plate at an angular disposition so that at any given point, a relatively small portion of the rubber is being cut and thereby consuming power. Finally, the power consumption is reduced by providing the teeth on rotating shafts in a plurality of series of arcuate patterns. Therefore, at any given time, only a relatively small number of teeth in each series cut at the same time and thereby require power.

Abstract: The solid waste processing unit will reduce normal waste stream solids, all considered to be nonedible garbage, to 10-15 percent of the original volume ready for recycling or disposal. The unit can be placed in any location and can be manufactured to meet any capacity. The unit crushes, tears and shreds solid waste in a disintegrator which is composed of two sections. The first is a stationary chamber and the second is top cone-shaped drum rotating at high speed and high torque within the stationary chamber. Both sections are equipped with elliptical-patterned cutting heads and the waste is forced down through the chamber by the drum until it is ground into material for sizing in a rotating screening cylinder. The rotating screening cyclinder sizes and sorts the material into storage bins below with the aid of a fan to expedite the screening process. If the screened and sorted waste fills the compartmentized bins to capacity the system is stopped by electrical means.
