All Cooperating Surfaces Rotate Patents (Class 241/159)
  • Patent number: 3964718
Abstract: A crusher includes a housing having an internal conduit for directing the advance of material therethrough. A plurality of cooperative pairs of rotatable crush rollers are disposed within the conduit. An endless flexible chain is operatively arranged to rotate each crush roller in a direction to cause material to be advanced through the crusher. Material to be crushed enters the conduit through an inlet and is progressively crushed between the rollers of each successively encountered pair. Crushed material is separated by size and discharged from the crusher via an outlet chute. The spacing between the bottom cooperative pair of crush rollers may be adjusted by selective rotation of a cam member.

  • Patent number: 3933086
Abstract: An apparatus is described for separating blocks of dried fruit composed of individual fruit pieces such as raisins which are bonded or cohered to one another. One or more pairs of rotating high friction surfaces, such as rolls having rubber projections on their surfaces, are mounted on a framework such that the fruit pieces pass between the surface pairs, being conducted downward sequentially through the pairs when more than one pair is employed, and are separated into individual fruit pieces by the action of the differential speed of the surfaces.

  • Patent number: 3931935
Abstract: A method for cutting vehicle tires and the like is disclosed together with apparatus for practicing the method comprising a first plurality of cutting discs axially spaced from each other along a first shaft and a second plurality of cutting discs axially spaced from each other along a second shaft parallel to the first. The thickness and spacing of the cutting discs along their respective shafts and the spacing of the shafts with respect to each other is such that the cutting discs of each plurality intermesh with those of the other plurality with the overlapping side surfaces of the discs substantially in contact to provide a scissor like cutting action and the free peripheral surfaces of the discs of each plurality are spaced from the shaft of the other plurality a distance sufficient to allow passage of the cut slices of the vehicle tires or the like. Various embodiments including means for enhancing feeding action and for recycling the cut slices are described.
