Abstract: A grating device for grating material includes a hollow handle having an interior cavity and a grater removably attachable to the hollow handle in a first configuration and a second configuration. The handle includes a top wall portion having a major outer surface configured to abut against a palm of a hand of a person gripping the grating device, a pair of elongated longitudinal sidewall portions, a closed end wall portion, and an open end wall portion on an opposing side of the hollow handle from the closed end wall portion. The open end wall portion of the hollow handle includes at least one surface extending through the hollow handle defining a passageway between the interior cavity of the hollow handle and an exterior of the hollow handle. Such a grating device may be used to grate material.
Abstract: A grinder specially adapted for grinding herbs has a sheet with unique groove patterns forming a grinding area. Although it is a manual grinder, the grinder does not require the use of cutting blades, making it much safer to use. The grinder is particularly suitable for grinding softer herbs.

A grinding unit provides at least one grater and one motor for causing the grater to rotate. In order to obtain a desired weight of the dose, a volume of frozen material is calculated that corresponds to said weight, since the density of the frozen material is known.

Abstract: A rotary grater includes a main body having a portion of one side formed from a resilient material. An internal grating barrel includes a plurality of grating teeth and is configured to grate cheese or other food items. The barrel is positioned for rotation inside the main body, such that cheese within the main body can be urged against the barrel by pressure against the resilient material, which will collapse as the food item decreases in size.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for comminuting dry ice granules, comprising a housing having a flow channel for dry ice granules which can be applied, by means of compressed gas, to a surface to be cleaned, and also comprising a first comminution member for comminuting the dry ice granules which are to be dispensed. In order to provide a device of this kind with which different degrees of comminution of dry ice granules can be achieved in a simple manner, it is proposed according to the invention that the device has at least one second comminution member which can be disposed in the housing in a position in which a total degree of comminution, which is greater than the individual degree of comminution which can be achieved solely by the first comminution member, can be achieved in combination with the first comminution member. A dry ice dispensing arrangement for dispensing a mixture of compressed gas and dry ice granules is also proposed, having a device of the above kind.

Abstract: An apparatus for the manual cutting of foods includes a first basic element and a second basic element, wherein the first and second basic elements are pivotably movable relative to one another about a pivot axis from a non-usage setting into a work setting, wherein the first and second basic elements each have a front side and a rear side, each of the front and rear sides having a functional surface configured as a guideway and as a cutting zone for food, and wherein the first and second basic elements lie one against the other in the non-usage setting. The apparatus also has an integrated latching device disposed in a region of the pivot axis configured to secure defined angular settings of the first and second basic elements.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for crumbling a food product such as a block of cheese into irregularly shaped food particles. One embodiment of the apparatus consists of a chute-shaped housing that contains two opposing plates with a plurality of protrusions on their faces, where the plates are closer together towards the bottom of the chute. When food is inserted into the top of the chute and one of the plates is moved in an up-and-down motion, the protrusions on the opposing plates crumble the food into progressively smaller food particles until the crumbled particles drop through the gap between the bottoms of the plates and out the bottom of the chute. Other embodiments are described and shown.
Abstract: A kitchen utensil, in the nature of a zester (15), having a zester blade (17) on which an array of teeth are formed. The blade (17) is fashioned out of a blank of thin metallic material, the edges of which are quite sharp. At least two such edges intersect to create a very sharp point and which becomes an area of potential injury. To minimize injury at that intersection, and further, to protect counter tops and the like from marring and scratching, a-protective tip (40) is fitted over that intersection. The protective tip (40) is made out of a soft plastic or rubber material and inhibits contact with the point at that intersection and the area immediately adjacent thereto.
