Abstract: A bone grinder may have a grinding chamber, an intermediate zone, and a primary cutting element and a secondary cutting element. The intermediate zone may have a first wall and a second wall within the grinding chamber, and the intermediate zone may separate the primary cutting element from the secondary cutting element. The first wall and the second wall may slope inward such that a distance between the first wall and the second wall generally decreases from the primary cutting element to the secondary cutting element. The primary cutting element and the secondary cutting element may be positioned within the grinding chamber to sequentially perform primary cutting operations and secondary cutting operations on a bone. A drive mechanism may operatively engage the primary cutting element and the secondary cutting element.

Abstract: Present invention teaches a tobacco grinder with a guide shell and a grinder assembly consisting of an upper grinder part and a lower grinder part that is attached to a support shell. A material drawer is located on the side of the guide shell, slidably placed inside a slid slot, with a lock/release operation performed by a push release lock mechanism, making it easy for a user to operate. A curved well guides the ground tobacco down from the grinding chamber and funneled into the material drawer. The magnetized feature also makes the operation easy even if the grinder unit is help up-side-down.

Abstract: A mill head for replaceable attachment to a base so as to collectively form a bone mill. The mill head includes shell with: a first opening in which bone stock is introduced into the head; and a second opening through which the bone chips are discharged. A cutting device is mounted in the shell to both rotate and move laterally. Attached to the cutting device are coupling features for engaging a drive spindle able to rotate the cutting device. Also attached to the housing is an alignment feature. The alignment feature engages a complementary alignment feature associated with the drive spindle so as a result of the engagement of the alignment features, the cutting device moves within the shell so that the cutting device coupling features are positioned to engage the drive spindle.

Abstract: A configurable herb grinder that is operable to provide grinding of a desired herb wherein the configurable herb grinder of the present invention includes a first configuration and a second configuration. The configurable herb grinder of the present invention includes a first grinding member module and a second grinding member module that are rotatably coupled and arranged in a vertically stacked orientation. The herb grinder further includes a container member module and a bottom member module that are beneath the first grinding member module and the second grinding member module in a vertically stacked orientation. The first grinding member module and the second grinding member module comprise the upper portion of the herb grinder and the container member module and the bottom member module comprise the lower portion. The herb grinder is configured to interchange the upper portion and lower portion utilizing latches and latch receptacles.

Abstract: A combination herb storage, grinder and pouring container includes a grinding and pouring cup having grinding elements. A cap is removably attached to the grinding and pouring cup. An herb storage receptacle is nested within the cup and cap. The receptacle defines an herb storage compartment having grinding elements extending therefrom so as to be disposed adjacent to the grinding elements of the cup, so as to selectively grind herbs placed between the storage receptacle and the cup. Preferably, the cup and cap are removably locked to one another, and an airtight and watertight seal formed between the cap, cup and storage receptacle.

Abstract: A combination cheese-grater/music-maker device is provided such that grated cheese and musical notes are produced simultaneously and synchronously. The device uses of one or more cylinders rotatably attached to said device wherein all of the cylinders can be rotated simultaneously and synchronously. The device features with a handle to allow a person's hand to impart simultaneous and synchronous rotation to all said cylinders. Musical note producing elements are attached to the device such that a note is produced when a protrusion on a cylinder contacts one such element. The device also features cheese-grating sections on one or more cylinders and with a surface to impart downward pressure on the cheese to facilitate contact of the cheese with the sections.

An internal grating barrel includes a plurality of grating teeth and is configured to grate cheese or other food items. Abstract: A grinder used to grind material, such as tobacco leaves and other dried fruit and herbs, having windows or plastic covered openings that provide visual access to the interior of the compartment in which the finely grinded material is collected. These windows or plastic covered openings allow the user to visually determine whether sufficient material has been grinded without the burdensome task of repeatedly opening and closing the compartment. Furthermore, the grinder of the present invention is designed to allow the windows or openings to be covered and sealed by a single clear plastic part that is injection molded directly onto the sidewalls of the grinder.

The apparatus comprises a grinding unit, for grinding the frozen block in order to provide an amount of ground frozen material and a feeding unit for feeding the frozen block to the grinding unit. In particular, the feeding unit comprises a feeding member that is adapted for moving frozen block for a desired predetermined grinding stroke against grinding unit such that a grinding length of block is ground. A grinding unit provides at least one grater and one motor for causing the grater to rotate. In order to obtain a desired weight of the dose, a volume of frozen material is calculated that corresponds to said weight, since the density of the frozen material is known.

Abstract: A juice extractor (100), in particular for fruit and vegetable, comprising a rotatable grating disk (106), a filter sieve (108) surrounding the grating disk (106), a feed tube (114a, 114b) arranged above the grating disk (106), and a food pusher (116) insertable into the feed tube (114a, 114b) to press food, in particular fruit and vegetable, onto the grating disk (106), wherein the food pusher (116) is hollow with an opening on its side and the feed tube (114a, 114b) has an corresponding opening, such that pulp generated during grating food may enter the food pusher (116). Separate containers for collecting pulp become thus obsolete. This allows for a more compact design of juice extractors (100).

Abstract: A hand held rotary grater for grating foodstuffs and the like in which a housing having a handle encircles a grater barrel having a crank for rotating the grater barrel within the housing. The grater includes a lever with a cap at one end which is in registry with a hopper in the housing for holding the foodstuff against the grater barrel. The lever is rotatable about a pin mounted in the housing so as to create a mechanical advantage for the user in order that pressure on the lever is increased at the cap for applying pressure to the foodstuff against the grater barrel. Furthermore, the abrading elements operable in one direction are of a different size and configuration than those in the opposite direction to thereby create different size particulate during the abrading process.

Abstract: A food grater having a housing, a food hopper, a reversible grating barrel removably carried by the housing and disposed at an open end of the hopper for grating food, such as cheese, contained therein, and a detachable end cap covering an open end of the grating barrel for allowing controlled dispensing of the grated food, is disclosed. A press plate configured to fit within the hopper at an open end opposite the grating barrel engages food disposed therein and moves the same into contact with the grating barrel. The detachable end cap includes concentric first and second parts, the first part including a passage defined thereon through which grated food may pass and the second part including at least two distinct areas each having an opening defined thereon, at least one of the first and second parts being movable relative to the other such that the two distinct areas of the second part may be aligned with the passage on the first part.

Abstract: A hogging, sometimes known as reducing, apparatus for reducing wood waste into hog fuel, though some embodiments may also be used for reducing other materials including demolition timber, demolition masonry, mild steel scrap (thin sections), soft metal scrap, recycled cans, recycled glass, recycled plastic, soft rocks, occasionally hard rocks, recycled roading and asphalt, old tyres, and certain green garden waste. The apparatus includes a drum (40) inclined to the horizontal and into which raw material can be fed at its upper end. Rotation of the drum (40) assists driving raw material towards reducing elements (45) positioned at an angle near its (40) lower end. Screening apertures (41) allow sufficiently comminuted material to pass therethrough for removal. Optional features include internal agitators (60) for improving processing and screening, assisted drying of raw material by motor exhaust (71), and initial pre-screening of foreign material.

Abstract: A hand-held electric cheese grinder includes a body having a cheese grinder cylinder rotatably mounted within a chamber of the body and driven by a motor through a transmission mechanism the motor and transmission mechanism are operatively mounted inside the grinding cylinder so that a relative spatial room is provided above the grinder cylinder in the chamber to contain a cheese block to be ground. The cheese block is pressed down against the grinder cylinder by a plunger extending from a cover mounted to the top of the body. A base is preferably provided to support the body when not in operation. The base includes a changer for recharging batteries in the body and a cooling device to maintain a relatively low temperature in the chamber of the body.

Abstract: A hand-held rotary grating device is configured to grate soft cheeses that have traditionally been exceedingly difficult or impossible to grate. A cylindrical grating barrel is rotateably inserted within a grater housing. The barrel has an advantageous barrel aspect ratio—i.e., the ratio of the diameter of the barrel to the hopper width is sufficiently large that the grated food material falls through the opening of the barrel rather than accumulating and retarding the grating motion. The effective aspect ratio of the barrel is greater than approximately 1.5, preferably between approximately 1.5 and 2.5, and most preferably about 2.0. The barrel includes a graspable handle that is collapsible within the body of the barrel, and which includes a bearing surface that prevents axial movement of the barrel within the housing when the handle is extended, but which allows movement (and removal) of the barrel when the handle is collapsed.

Abstract: A rotary hand grater has a housing which defines a hopper communicating with an open-ended cylindrical grating chamber in which a grating drum rotates for grating the contents of the hopper. The chamber is closed at one end by handle structure for rotating the grating drum and at the other end by a removable cap. A press plate is movable into and out of the hopper for pressing food against the grating tube. A flexible and resilient seal is clamped between the press plate and a backing surface on a plunger arm for sealing engagement with the hopper side walls and cooperation with the handle structure and the cap to seal the hopper and the chamber.

At least two of the sets (4) have their cutting members (3) mutually displaced in axial direction.

Abstract: A cheese grating plate having a plurality of staggered rows of apertures, each aperture formed by fitting an insert into a hole or pushing a member into the hole, the aperture having a sharp raised edge around a substantial portion of at least one end of each aperture. In one embodiment the sharp raised edges being formed by a member pushed into the hole. The height of the sharp raised edges extends out no further than twenty thousands of an inch and preferably only ten thousand of an inch. In one embodiment the member forming the sharp raised edge is tapered, cylindrical and has circumferentially spaced edges. In other embodiments the member is a drill bit, or a tapered member that is rocked in the hole. In other embodiments the insert is pressed into the hole and extends out from the plate to form the raised edge.

Abstract: Disclosed is a manually-operated garlic grater which is very easy to use and very efficient to grate cloves of garlic. This garlic grater has a casing defining a tubular cavity having a lateral opening. A handle is removably mounted in a rotatable manner onto the casing on top of one end of the tubular cavity. A hollow grating drum is rigidly connected to the handle so as to be rotated therewith. This drum extends within the tubular cavity when the handle is mounted onto the casing and has a cylindrical wall which extends at a short distance away from the inner wall of the tubular cavity. The handle and hollow grating drum altogether form one piece. A base is removably mounted onto the casing on top of the other ends of the tubular cavity. A wiper is rigidly connected to the base. This wiper extending radially within the drum when the base is mounted on the casing and bearing against the cylindrical wall of the drum to wipe the cylindrical wall when the drum is rotated.
