Plural Partitions Or End Walls Patents (Class 241/71)
  • Patent number: 8491497
Abstract: An apparatus for morcellating tissue specimens comprises a housing and a cutting member. The cutting member is operable to cut tissue specimens into morcellated or minced tissue pieces. The cutting member may include one or more screens. One of the screens may be rotatable or capable of reciprocating relative to the housing. One screen may cooperate with another screen to provide shearing of the tissue specimens. The cutting member may include a plurality of discs that are rotatable relative to the housing. The discs may include inwardly directed notches formed in their outer perimeter, with the notches cooperating with an interior wall of the housing to cut tissue specimens. The discs may include perimeters having ovular or elliptical shapes that cooperate with a cylindrical interior wall of the housing to cut tissue specimens. The apparatus may be a stand-alone apparatus or may be incorporated into a tissue harvesting apparatus.

  • Patent number: 8109457
Abstract: A pulp lifter assembly for a rotary grinding mill includes an outer pulp lifter having walls defining a pulp lifter chamber and an outlet opening for radially inward discharge of slurry from the pulp lifter chamber, and an inner discharger disposed radially inward of the outer pulp lifter and circumferentially offset from the outer pulp lifter. The inner discharger defines a passage for conveying slurry substantially radially inward. A transition discharger is disposed radially between the outer pulp lifter and the inner discharger. The transition discharger has a first wall bounding an interior space and a second wall dividing the interior space into first and second regions. The second wall includes a guide that bounds a channel connecting the outlet opening of the outer pulp lifter to the passage defined by the inner discharger.

  • Publication number: 20080099592
Abstract: A hogging, sometimes known as reducing, apparatus for reducing wood waste into hog fuel, though some embodiments may also be used for reducing other materials including demolition timber, demolition masonry, mild steel scrap (thin sections), soft metal scrap, recycled cans, recycled glass, recycled plastic, soft rocks, occasionally hard rocks, recycled roading and asphalt, old tyres, and certain green garden waste. The apparatus includes a drum (40) inclined to the horizontal and into which raw material can be fed at its upper end. Rotation of the drum (40) assists driving raw material towards reducing elements (45) positioned at an angle near its (40) lower end. Screening apertures (41) allow sufficiently comminuted material to pass therethrough for removal. Optional features include internal agitators (60) for improving processing and screening, assisted drying of raw material by motor exhaust (71), and initial pre-screening of foreign material.

  • Patent number: 7168645
Abstract: A lifting wall for a tube mill which has a discharge means with lifting vanes in order to transport the material being ground to discharge openings by the rotary movement of the tube mill. The lifting vanes are disposed obliquely with respect to the radial direction so that the material being ground slides promptly to the center where it is discharged through the discharge openings still below the horizontal longitudinal central plane of the tube mill. The lifting vanes are substantially flat and bent like blades in a region of the discharge openings.

  • Patent number: 6655615
Abstract: A tearing mill for comminuting fruits (3) is equipped with a tearing bed (15) with tearing elements (4) and delivery vanes (5) for the fruits (3). Directly upstream of the tearing elements (4) in terms of the delivery direction (v), openings (16) for the comminuted pieces of fruit (8) are disposed in the tearing bed (15). As a result, low mechanical stress on the comminuted product (8) and a small proportion of fine particles are achieved, which improves the yield and output in an ensuing juice extraction operation.

  • Patent number: 6379505
Abstract: A pulper device includes a vessel in which an annular flow can be generated. The flow acts upon a liquid-sold mixture located inside the vessel and effects a pulping of the same. The device also comprises a screening device for separating coarse materials from the suspension, whereby the screening device has the shape of a truncated cone. The truncated cone is provided with holes on the lateral surface thereof and can be mounted on the base of the vessel in such a way that the truncated cone points upward with the small circular surface thereof, and the lateral surface lies in an approximately tangential manner to the toroidal flow. The screening device is subdivided into different segments and these segments can be individually mounted from the external side of the vessel.

  • Patent number: 4582268
Abstract: Apparatus for treating a granular substance, especially for milling nuclear reactor fuel in powder form having a treatment drum supported rotatably about a central axis, an associated drive unit to drive the treatment drum about this central axis, and a cover at one end. The cover has two cover sections which are arranged side by side in the direction of the central axis of the treatment drum and can be rotated relative to each other about the central axis between two stops by means of a cover drive unit. The outer cover section has an opening for docking a substance container and the inner cover section has a passage opening which is aligned at one of the two stops with the opening for docking and which is closed at the other stop by the outer cover section. The treatment drum can be tilted about a tilting axis perpendicular to its central axis by means of a tilting unit.

  • Patent number: 4133899
Abstract: The process of milling wheat to produce a large proportion of coarse farina in which double tempered wheat is passed through a series of four identical sets of deeply and coarsely corrugated break rolls run sharp to sharp. The output of each roll is separated in size ranges. Substantially oversized particles from each break roll set are fed into the next break roll set in the series. Slightly oversized particles are fed through corrugated rolls to slightly reduce the size thereof, and to remove bran coat therefrom. Properly sized particles are air purified to remove bran particles and oversized bran particles are passed through additional breaking roll operations to further separate any endosperm particles therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4064831
Abstract: A device for coating granular solids has a rotary drum and a casing or housing air-tightly housing the rotary drum. The space between the rotary drum and the casing is divided by sealing means into a gas supply passage and a gas exhaust passage which in turn are communicated with a gas supply duct and a gas exhaust duct, respectively. The rotary drum is of a double-cone structure consisting of a cylindrical section and frustoconical side walls, and the cylindrical section consists of a plurality of circumferentially arcuated louvers overlapped one upon another and radially spaced apart from each other at a suitable distance to define gas passages between the interior and exterior of the rotary drum.

  • Patent number: 4018567
Abstract: Whole or shredded lead-acid batteries, together with a quantity of sodium carbonate and water, are fed continuously into a rotating drum separator containing a charge of grinding balls. Agitation of the mixture, aided by the internal drum construction features, further breaks up and degrades the battery fragments, neutralizes any contaminating electrolyte, transposes the finer particles of lead sulfate into lead carbonate, and forms a heavy-medium suspension of the active material on which organic battery fragments float. The suspension of active material constantly overflows from the drum at one end and carries the organic fragments with it into a first trommel, while sinkable fragments of grid metal and other battery parts of lower grade antimonial lead alloy are mechanically removed at the opposite end and deposited in a second trommel.
