Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a material reducing machine including a rotary reducing component positioned at least partially within a reducing chamber. A sizing screen defines a portion of the reducing chamber and extends at least partially around the rotary reducing component. Material catches are disclosed for preventing elongated strips of material from snaking longitudinally through the sizing screen without being adequately reduced in length.

Abstract: A comminutor for shredding rag-like materials includes a frame member having a cutter bar that is affixed thereto and has a plurality of cutter teeth, and includes screen bars aligned with the cutter teeth. Each of the screen bars has an end that fits closely to its adjacent cutter tooth and the frame member so as to close a gap between the cutter tooth and the frame member. The end of the screen bar may include a flange that fits closely to the frame member and a tab proximate to the flange that fits closely to the cutter tooth. In an embodiment where the cutter tooth is flush with the frame member, the end of the screen bar includes a flange that fits closely to both frame member and the cutter tooth.

Abstract: A food ricer including a hopper, a first plate having a first pattern of apertures defining a bottom of the hopper, and a second plate having a second pattern of apertures rotatably coupled to the bottom of the hopper. The second plate is preferably rotatable with respect to the first plate. The first and second patterns of apertures being eccentric or non-concentric with respect to each other to allow for the geometric orientation of one pattern of apertures to be quartered, bifurcated, and aligned with respect to the other pattern of apertures for achieving varying degrees of coarseness upon rotation of the second plate with respect to the first plate.

Abstract: An adjustable screen apparatus for a material destruction device includes a first stationary fixed member and a second member positioned in an operatively juxtaposed and nesting relationship for reciprocal movement relative to the first member, each having a predetermined plurality of openings which are disposed in a predetermined pattern. A guide system is provided for guiding the reciprocal movement of the second member relative to the first member. A power operated drive is coupled to a source of power and to the second member for reciprocally moving the second member between a first position wherein each opening in the second member substantially overlaps a respective opening in the first member for producing large size particles and a second position wherein each opening in the second member partially overlaps each of a pair of adjacently disposed openings in the first member for producing small size particles.

Abstract: The invention refers to a comminution device comprising at least one comminution cylinder supported rotating in a machine frame with at least one comminution tool arranged on it, and at least one counter cutter interacting with the comminution tool, and at least one sieve device for the comminuted material the housing of which encircles the comminution cylinder at least partly, the sieve device and the counter cutter forming a common structural component. The invention is characterized in that the counter cutter is designed like a plate and has recesses designed corresponding to the shape of the comminution tools of the comminution device.

Abstract: A screen assembly 22 includes a conveyor 26 pivotably mounted beneath a screen 24 for segregation of fractions of material, for example from a mobile crusher 10. Hydraulic cylinders (not shown) are used to selectively move telescopic arms 48 (only one of which is shown in the Figures), to raise or lower the conveyor 26 between operative position and inoperative positions. In the operative position the conveyor 26 is substantially parallel to the screen 24 for receiving material which has passed through the screen mesh, in use. In the inoperative position the conveyor 26 is angularly displaced relative to the screen 24 about the pivot, to provide access to the underside of the screen 24, e.g. for maintenance purposes. Removable pins 50 are provided for releasably securing the attitude of the conveyor 26 relative to the screen 24 in the operative position.

Abstract: An improved grinding apparatus or hammermill utilizing retractable bars as a hammermill screen, or as a support to a conventional hammermill screen. The ability to retract these bars which make up the screen of the hammermill assembly reduces the down time associated with inspecting, replacing, and repairing the bars, and clearing jammed material caught within the screen. When the retractable bars support a hammermill screen, retraction of the bars allows the screen to drop down from the hammermill for repair and cleaning.
