Abstract: A disc brake, formed from a lower disc and an upper disc, is fitted on a carrier which is fastened in position to a warp creel part by means of a single screw. The lower disc rests on a rotary cage which carries a gearwheel. This gearwheel meshes with a pinion on a drive shaft. This drive shaft runs at the point where the thread coming out of the warp creel is to be deflected towards a lapping machine and thereby forms, at the same time, a driven deflecting rod for deflecting the thread. Moreover, connected turnably to the drive shaft is a beveled part which forms, with its surface, part of a peripheral positioning of the upper disc and, at the same time, causes the upper disc to turn intermittently via the frictional connection with this upper disc. A pressure element, which is clamped releasably in a clamping piece, acts centrally on the upper disc.
Abstract: A device for intermittently tensioning a yarn passing therethrough in which a motor cam acts on a tension train mounted on a fixed shaft. The tension train is composed of a tension adjuster which provides tension on a base plate, spring, and tension discs mounted between a stop and the tension adjuster. In an embodiment of the invention a method for intermittently tensioning a yarn by passing the yarn between the tension discs of the device described above.
Abstract: Thread braking device including a rotatably driven lower dish and upper dish, a device for applying a load to the upper dish, a guidance housing surrounding and guiding the upper dish, and rotary drive means for rotating the guidance housing.
Abstract: Thread brake including a rotatably driven lower and upper dish, a device for applying a load with adjustable pressure to the upper dish, the device including a chamber, an elastic container of variable volume received in the chamber, and a central compressed-gas supply connected to the elastic container, the elastic container being of such size in non-pressurized condition thereof that, upon being pressurized, the elastic wall thereof is not stretched, and plunger means for transmitting the pressure from the elastic container to the upper dish, the plunger means extending through an opening formed in a wall of the chamber and having a contact surface of predetermined size directed against the elastic container.
Abstract: When weaving, movable and stationary discs grasp or grip intermittently the weft yarn therebetween. One of the discs has at its contacting surface a circular recess encircled by a bank. The ridge of the bank contacting the flat surface of the other disc does the gripping.
Abstract: Assembly includes a closed pneumatic device for applying a load to a thread brake for braking a thread traveling therethrough, the load-applying device including means for storing pressure at a variable volume, and means operatively connected to the closed pneumatic load-applying device for determining and signaling a detrimental pneumatic leakage loss in the load-applying device.
Abstract: A weft control device for shuttleless looms of the type having a pair of spring biased disc elements between which the weft is advanced for insertion into sheds of warp threads. The device is located intermediate the source of weft and the edge of the fabric being formed, and includes a driving apparatus for effecting rotation of the disc elements in a direction that will apply tension to the weft and automatically recover the development of any slack therein in the area intermediate the disc elements and the fabric edge.
