Patent number: 11147254Abstract: A spincast reel includes a frame. A rotatable main shaft is mounted on the frame, the periphery of the main shaft is provided with two spiral grooves with reverse spirals, a side of a shaft sleeve opposite to the spiral groove is provided with a kidney-shaped hole, and a transmission claw which passes through the kidney-shaped hole and is slidably installed in the spiral groove is fixed to a reel seat; one end of the main shaft penetrates into the frame and is provided with a driving gear assembly for driving the main shaft to rotate, and the other end thereof is fixedly connected to a line pickup portion. The spincast reel provides uniform line arrangement and prevents partial fishing line tangles during winding.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 2018Date of Patent: October 19, 2021Assignee: YANGZHOU YUANSHENG MACHINERY CO., LTD.Inventor: Zhilin Xu

Patent number: 8657222Abstract: A drag mechanism is configured to brake rotation of a spool in a fishing-line releasing direction about a handle shaft. The drag mechanism includes a drag regulation member, a drag washer, a handle, a one-way clutch, and a cam. The drag regulation member is configured to regulate drag force, where the drag regulation member includes an operating part and a regulation nut. The regulation nut is axially movably and unitarily rotatably coupled to the operating part. The regulation nut is screwed onto an outer peripheral surface of a tip end of the handle shaft. The drag washer is disposed onto the handle shaft. The handle is disposed between the drag washer and the drag regulation member. The one-way clutch is configured to prevent rotation of the handle shaft in the fishing-line releasing direction. The cam mechanism is configured to increase the drag force.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2012Date of Patent: February 25, 2014Assignee: Shimano Inc.Inventor: Yuzo Kawabe

Patent number: 8240590Abstract: A fishing reel (100) comprises a crank (110), a spool (120) connected to said crank (110), a pull-off brake mechanism (230,230,400,400,400) and a chassis (130). The pull-off brake mechanism (230,230,400,400,400) 5 and the crank (110) are interconnected such that a pretension of the pull-off brake mechanism (230,230,400,400,400) increases as the crank (110) is moved in a reeling-in direction. Moreover, the pretension of the pull-off pull-off brake mechanism (230,230,400,400,400)10 also increases as the crank (110) is moved in a direction opposite to the reeling-in direction.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2008Date of Patent: August 14, 2012Assignee: Danielsson Innovation ABInventor: Tomas Erik Danielsson

Patent number: 7850110Abstract: The drag adjusting device is provided with a pin member 70 arranged on a plate-like member 80 of a reel unit 1 such that it can be attached to and detached and such that its position can be changed. The pin member 70 serves to remember a prescribed pivot position of a drag mechanism operating member 2. When an angler finds an optimum drag lever position, the angler installs the pin member 70 in a mounting recess 81 corresponding to the optimum drag lever position. In this way, the angler can easily set the drag mechanism operating member 2 to the optimum drag lever position without having to remember the drag lever position.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2009Date of Patent: December 14, 2010Assignee: Shimano Inc.Inventors: Hirokazu Hirayama, Hiroaki Kuriyama

Patent number: 7823823Abstract: A drag adjusting device for a dual-bearing reel, including a reel unit with a drag operating member configured to pivot within a range between a minimum position and a maximum position. A plate member is attached to an outer side of the reel unit. A drag restricting member is detachably coupled to the outer side surface of the plate member and between the minimum and the maximum pivot position of the drag operating member. The drag restricting member is detachably coupled to the plate member so as to contact and restrict pivotal movement of the drag operating member.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2009Date of Patent: November 2, 2010Assignee: Shimano Inc.Inventor: Hirokazu Hirayama

Patent number: 6672526Abstract: An automatic two-speed transmission for a fishing reel comprises a spool mounted on a spool shaft, a drive sleeve mounted on a drive shaft disposed parallel to the spool shaft. A low gear driver nonrotatably mounted on the drive shaft engages the low gear when the low gear rotates at a speed less than the drive shaft, the low gear driver disengaging from the low gear when the low gear rotates at a speed greater than the drive shaft. The low gear drives a low pinion gear that turns the spool. A high gear is disposed on the drive sleeve between clutch washers, the clutch washers providing frictional resistance against the high gear in order to engage the high gear, which in turn engages a high pinion gear that turns the spool. A tension preset device selectably adjusts the drive sleeve and the drive shaft axially relative to each other, squeezing the high gear between the clutch washers.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2002Date of Patent: January 6, 2004Assignee: Tiburon Engineering, Inc.Inventors: Steven W. Patent number: 4854524Abstract: A drag mechanism for a double-bearing fishing reel is provided, which includes drag members provided between a handle shaft and a main gear, a setting member which is operated to set a slipping rotation starting load on a spool, an adjuster which adjusts a preset optimum load within a predetermined range, a reference portion provided at one of the setting member and the adjuster, and a position setting portion corresponding to the reference portion provided at the other of the setting member and the adjuster. The adjuster can easily and accurately return, after adjustment of the load, to the position where the optimum load is set.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1988Date of Patent: August 8, 1989Assignee: Shimano Industrial Company LimitedInventor: Shinichi Morimoto
