Positive Patents (Class 242/297)
  • Patent number: 9567186
Abstract: A motorized hose reel with a positive locking mechanism includes a spool that is rotatably supported by a support frame, a motor in driving communication with the spool and a locking pin. The locking pin is movable to any one of three positions. In the first position, a spring forces the locking pin to engage a corresponding aperture in the hose reel spool. As the locking pin is rotated, a shaft extending radially from the locking pin engages a track formed in the housing. This causes the locking pin to withdraw from the hose reel spool against the force of the spring. Further rotation of the locking pin causes the radially-extending shaft to engage a detent, which holds the locking pin away from the hose reel spool. Still further rotation of the locking pin causes the radially-extending shaft to close a switch, which completes an electrical circuit to the motor.

Abstract: A fishing reel can comprise a lever actuated drag mechanism within a reel housing with a lever projecting from the housing. A fine drag adjuster can be adjusted independently of the lever. The drag mechanism can include plural cams and cam engagers spaced about the periphery of a drag plate. An anti-rotation mechanism can have plural flexure members that engage teeth at the periphery of a dog wheel and at a location closer to the exterior of the reel housing than a spool supporting spindle. The spindle can be supported for axial movement to facilitate fine drag adjustment and can be restricted against rotational motion. A planetary or other handle operated drive mechanism can be used.

  • Publication number: 20110315802
Abstract: A fishing reel for winding a fishing line includes a reel unit, a spool, a handle, a tension detection section, a temperature detection section, a detected tension correction section, and a corrected tension output section. The spool is rotatably attached to the reel unit and configured to wind the fishing line thereon. The handle is mounted to the reel unit, and configured to rotate the spool. The tension detection section is configured to detect tension applied on the fishing line by converting the tension into an electric signal. The temperature detection section is disposed to detect temperature of the tension detection section. The detected tension correction section is configured to correct the tension after being detected on the basis of the temperature of the tension detection section after being detected. The corrected tension output section is configured to output the tension after being corrected by the detected tension correction section.

  • Publication number: 20100006688
Abstract: A reel unit of the dual-bearing reel configured to support a spool, a spool shaft, a drag mechanism, and the drag adjusting lever. The reel unit has a first end member with a first opening and a first escape portion. The first opening accommodates a first flange portion and has an edge surface with a first facing portion facing towards the outer peripheral surface of the first flange portion. The first facing portion and the outer peripheral surface of the first flange portion define a gap with an axial length shorter than the axial length of the outer peripheral surface of the first flange portion. The first escape portion is arranged within the inner peripheral surface of the first end member and has a diameter larger than the first facing portion.

  • Patent number: 7128287
Abstract: A fishing reel includes a housing, a handle mounted on the housing by an axle, a spool rotatably mounted on the housing, a transmission gear having multiple ratchets mounted at one end of the spool, a power transmitting device for transmitting power from the axle to the transmission gear, two pawls pivotally mounted on the housing and a connecting rod. The connecting rod having a clamping portion for clamping the axle, and two insertion portions being inserted into the elongated slot of the pawls. The fishing reel of the present invention is silent when the spool rotates and is operated smoothly with tiny friction.

  • Patent number: 6634586
Abstract: An anti-reversional mechanism for a trolling reel is to provide a ratchet wheel on a pressing wheel of the trolling reel, and two pawl members detachably engaged with the ratchet wheel for preventing the pressing wheel from reversional rotation. Each of the pawl members has an elongated slot. A control ring is elastically clamped on the periphery of the pressing wheel and has two driving rods respectively received in the elongated slots of the pawl members. Since the orientation of the elongated slot and the displacement direction of the control ring form a predetermined included angle, the pawl members are driven by the control rods of the control ring to be disengaged with said ratchet wheel while the pressing wheel rotates in a right direction such that the pressing wheel can rotate freely.

Abstract: A control device for preventing the shaft of fishing reel from rotating includes a plate pivotally connected to the body of the reel and a hook is defined in an end of the plate. A shaft is connected to a spool portion of the reel and has a groove defined in an outer periphery of the shaft. The hook is disengagably engaged with the groove so as to prevent the shaft from being rotated when the release button is unintentionally touched.

  • Patent number: 6499683
Abstract: In a spinning reel for fishing, there is provided a recess (1c) in the leg section (1b) having the fishing rod attaching section (1a) of the reel body (1), and also there is provided a recess (1d) in the reel body (1). The lever-shaped change-over member (4) and the spring (13) are housed in the recess (1c). The lever-shaped change-over member (4) is pivotally supported by the shaft (14) in such a manner that the lever-shaped change-over member (4) can be displaced. The operating section (4b) of the lever-shaped change-over member (4) is arranged in such a manner that it can be pressed down by a finger of the angler's hand holding the fishing rod (15). The acting section (4c) extending forward in the recess (1d) is made to face the reverse rotation preventive claw (7) of the first reverse rotation preventive device (A), and the reverse rotation preventive claw (7) is made to face the first reverse rotation preventive ratchet (5).
