Material Removed Axially From Winding Surface Patents (Class 242/365.1)
  • Publication number: 20130193251
Abstract: A device to enable yarn to be fed for textile applications and the relative turns to be separated. The device includes a wheel/drum directly or indirectly motorized for rotation about its axis, the wheel/drum presenting in its lateral surface a series of slits to receive relative blades the projecting profile of which enables the yarn turns wound on the wheel/drum to advance. The blades form an assembly which rotates together with the wheel/drum but about an axis having an inclination and/or an eccentricity relative to the axis of the wheel/drum, such that the profile projection of the blades from the relative slits varies gradually along the perimeter of the wheel/drum, from a minimum to a maximum, to then return to a minimum, but remains constant with time. The blades have a length to be able to receive all the yarn turns which concern the device.

Abstract: Yarn loops are unwound from a stationary weft-winding drum during a weft insertion. A weft-braking device locks the yarn unwinding from the drum at the end of the insertion, and comprises at least one braking member which is arranged by side of the drum near its delivery end and is movable under control of an actuator between a resting position in which it is spaced from the outer surface of the drum and does not interfere with the unwinding yarn, and an operative position in which it engages the outer surface of the drum and cooperates with it to brake the yarn.

  • Patent number: 7237742
Abstract: The yarn feeder device (1) of the invention has one or more yarn feeler levers (26), which are movably supported on the housing (2). The yarn feeler lever (26) is movable between an operating position I and a response position II. In the operating I, its crossbar (28) which forms the yarn feeler means is approximately in the same line as yarn guide elements, such as the struts (19, 23) of yarn guide bails (18, 22). Somewhat above its operating position I, the yarn feeler lever (26) meets a stop, past which it is not moved by the yarn (8). To improve the accessibility to the yarn guide elements (19, 23) particularly when yarn is being inserted and threaded in, the stop of the yarn feeler lever (26) is embodied as yielding. The yarn feeler lever (26) can therefore be moved upward manually past the stop on its lower end (28), in order to open up the space enclosed between the yarn guide elements (19, 23).

  • Patent number: 6409114
Abstract: A yarn feeding device including a storage drum for a yarn supply and a sensor device located outside the storage drum in a sensor housing. The sensor device includes several movably mounted sensor arms, each of which extends from an axis with a sensor arm carrying a sensor base to the yarn supply on the storage drum where it can be moved out of a home position. The yarn feeding device further includes a spring system which impinges on the sensor arm, as well as a signal-generating device for detecting the position of the sensor arm. The sensor arms and their sensor arm parts are mounted on a common axis.

  • Patent number: 6364235
Abstract: A weft thread pre-winder or pre-spooling device for an air jet loom includes a thread storage drum (6) made up of several drum segments (7) that are each adjustable in the radial direction so as to adjust the diameter and circumference of the thread storage drum. Thereby the amount of stored thread can be adjusted. Open gaps or interspaces (8) are formed between respective adjacent drum segments (7), and become larger or smaller depending on the radial adjustment of the segments. Especially for threads that form only a small thread balloon while being drawn-off from the thread storage drum, the threads would tend to get into these interspaces and become caught on the edges or corners of the drum segments, which would lead to energy losses in the thread and interfere with the proper weft insertion and thread transport.
