    Abstract: An electronic article surveillance apparatus for monitoring boxes and other items comprises a base, an electronics housing, and an elastic band. The base has posts and spring loaded pins proximal to the posts. The elastic band has two ends and an aperture at each end. The electronics housing has apertures that align with the spring loaded pins and that give access to switches within the housing. When the base is installed on an item and the elastic band is wrapped around the item with its apertures over the posts, the band restrains the spring loaded pins. When the housing is installed on the base, the band keeps the pins from actuating the switches. If the band has its tension relaxed, by tampering for example, the band ceases to restrain the pins which then actuate the switches. The electronics monitor the switches for tampering and can signal alarms.

    Abstract: A length direction base end side of a wire passes through a retaining spring mounting hole formed in a case, and is anchored to an anchor tag that is indirectly retained by a pulley. A spring is provided in the retaining spring mounting hole, and a base end of a tube is retained to the spring through a metal cylinder body. A spring-side step portion of the spring is pressed contact to a mounting portion-side step portion of the retaining spring mounting hole so the spring is retained. When the tube is pulled towards an opening side of the retaining spring mounting hole, the spring moves and the spring-side step portion makes press contact with, and is once again retained, by a different step of the mounting portion-side step portion.

    Abstract: A seat belt retractor is provided that realizes the proper meshing between a plurality of internal teeth and external teeth with a simple movement of a spool. In the case of an emergency, external teeth of a pawl provided at a spool right side end mesh with internal teeth provided on a frame, and, with load acting on a seat belt, a spool left side end contacts a spool guide. Since the spool left side end tends to move further in the direction of seat belt load, the spool guide brings one external tooth at the spool left side end into contact with one target internal tooth provided on the frame. Hence, some of the spool external teeth are made to mesh properly with the respective internal teeth. Thus, some of the spool external teeth effectively mesh with the respective frame internal teeth with simple movement of the spool.

    Abstract: A method is presented of optimizing an airbag suppression threshold for an airbag suppression system in a vehicle. The method includes defining a first value as the airbag suppression threshold such that deployment of an airbag is suppressed above the first value. Next, one or more factors indicative of a presence of a child restraint seat in the vehicle seat are determined. The airbag suppression threshold is set to a predefined second value when each of the factors are met. The factors include determining whether a locking feature in a set belt webbing retractor is in a first state configured to prevent withdrawal of the seat belt webbing. Other factors may include determining whether a speed of the vehicle is within a predetermined speed range and whether a load applied to the vehicle seat is within a predetermined seatload range.

Insertion of the clip into the housing automatically actuates the ratchet mechanism preventing movement of the cable in the unwind direction and activates the alarm system.
