  • Patent number: 8805151
Abstract: A lashing assembly lashes together two or more fiber optic telecommunications cables. The lashing assembly comprises at least a first and a second bobbin. As the cables are passed through the first bobbin, twine pays off from the first bobbin and wraps around the cables in a clockwise helix. As the cables are passed through the second bobbin, twine pays off from the second bobbin and wraps around the cables in a counterclockwise helix. In this way, the twine from the first and second bobbins lash the cables together as the cables are passed through the first and second bobbins.

  • Publication number: 20090026304
Abstract: A winding machine includes a frame with a main axis fixed on. A winding tray is engaged on the main axis and defines long slots. Winding spindles pass through the long slots respectively and stretch forward. An unloading mechanism includes a basic tray and a sub-tray mounted on the main axis. The basic tray defines through-holes and guiding holes. The unloading mechanism further includes unloading units, and each unloading unit has a panel member pivotally connected to the basic tray. The panel member defines an arc track and integrates with a connecting member connected to the basic tray by helical springs and engaging with the winding spindle. A sliding pillar slidably located in the front of the basic tray projects forward to form a supporting element configuring a first idler wheel. A pushing block is moveably received in the through-hole. A front end thereof protrudes out of the through-hole and defines an inclined guide surface and a back end extends to be fixed on the sub-tray.

  • Patent number: 6848641
Abstract: An actuating valve has two relay valves connected to a compressed air source and a pneumatic cylinder with two pressure chambers. When one relay valve is actuated, one pressure chamber is pressure-loaded and the other is relieved. Two 3/2 port directional control valves are arranged upstream of the pneumatic cylinder. Two check valves are positioned in branch lines connecting the relay valves and the directional control valves. A control line connects the branch line to the other directional control valve, respectively. The directional control valves are moveable between a first position allowing compressed air to pass and a pressure relief position. When the relay valves are inactive, the directional control valves are in the first position and the relay valves are in a venting position for the branch lines. When one relay valve is actuated, it assumes a position allowing passage of air to the branch line connected to it.

  • Patent number: 6786441
Abstract: A bobbin creel is supported on a holder so as to be pivotable by a four-bar linkage arranged on the machine frame of a textile machine. The holder forms the stationary member of the four-bar linkage. The bobbin creel is pivotable from a lower loading position into an upper operating position by a pneumatic cylinder connected with one end on the holder and with the other end to one of the movable four-bar linkage members. For pivoting the bobbin creel from the upper operating position into the lower loading position, the pneumatic cylinder is a bidirectional pneumatic cylinder loadable at both ends with compressed air and a correlated actuating valve.

  • Patent number: 6352214
Abstract: In a method for identifying the spinning position of cops, each cop is provided with an individual marker. The marker is read at the rewinding machine for determining the corresponding spinning position. The marker can e.g. consist of a bar code applied to an end of the cop's tube. With this system it becomes easy to attribute yarn parameters determined at the rewinding machine to individual spinning positions.

  • Patent number: 6340131
Abstract: A method for performing a batch change in an automatic cheese winder, which has many identical winding stations disposed in sections and a transportation system for supplying yarn-wound spinning cops to and removing empty unwound spinning cops from the winding stations. Transport trays for transporting spinning cops or empty tubes revolve within the transportation system, which has many different transport paths, among others transverse transport paths leading to the winding stations. The clearing away of an old batch of yarn is done section by section. Thus, from the transverse transport paths of one winding station section, spinning cop-carrying transport trays are discharged until such time as that section has been cleared out. The temporary storage of empty transport trays in the transverse transport paths of a cleared winding station section is already begun while adjacent winding station sections are still being cleared.

  • Patent number: 6290165
Abstract: A method for operating an automatic cheese winder, having multiple winding stations (A, B, etc.) and a transportation system (21) for supplying the winding stations with spinning cops (39) and discharging them of empty tubes (40). The spinning cops are furnished by a preceding textile machine (30) having a spinning cop and empty tube transport device (31) communicating with the transportation system (21). The delivery of spinning cops to the winder (25) is continuously monitored by a sensor. A control device (46) of a tube monitor (24) assures that empty tube-equipped transport trays are kept on hand in the transportation system, and the tube monitor via the central control unit (27) initiates a controlled slow-down of the winder (25) into an energy-saving mode. Upon resumption of delivery of the spinning cops, the winder is accelerated from the energy-saving mode to an operating mode.

Abstract: In a method for controlled winding of an elongated object, at least one elongated object (11) is guided by a guide head (35) to a reel body (15, 16), which is mounted to rotate and is rotated by a drive member (20). A program controlled adjustment of the speed variation as well as for the torque of the driver member (20) occurs, and depends on the measurable winding diameter (15') for a winding operation of the reel body (15, 16). By means of a regulator (50), the actual value of a tensile force on the elongated object (11) is measured by the torque on the drive member (20), and is compared with an adjustable reference value. In the case of a divergence, an actual value (57) is returned to the reference value. The reel body (15, 16) in this case rests on at least two driven drive shafts (22, 24). In addition, a lifting device for receiving the reel body is provided.

  • Patent number: 5979817
Abstract: A system for obtaining position data of cops on a winder while the cops are carried in a direction along a predetermined conveyance path having sections, connections of sections and sections where movement of the cops in a direction from one of the sections to another of the sections is to be confirmed. Ends of yarn of each of the cops are found in a yarn end feeding portion of the winder. The yarn of the cops is unwound from the cops in a plurality of winding-units of the winder. Remaining yarn on any of the unwound cops is detected in a remaining yarn sensing portion of the winder, and yarnless cops are finally discharged from the winder. Sensors detect only the presence of any one of the cops at respective sensor positions along the predetermined conveyance path.
