  • Patent number: 8336802
Abstract: The improvement relates to a bottom holder for winding up a thread, wherein a bobbin case can be slid onto a protruding bobbin spindle. In order to catch and clamp a thread on the circumference of the bobbin spindle at the beginning of a bobbin travel, a thread catching device and a thread clamping means are provided at a free insertion end of the bobbin spindle. In order to both securely clamp and automatically release the thread end when sliding off a bobbin, according to the improvement, the clamping means is formed by a hollow cylindrical clamping bushing, an outer cone thereof being fitted into an inner diameter bounded by catches, such that a clamping slit substantially axially oriented and open toward the insertion end of the bobbin spindle is formed between the clamping bushing and the catch.

  • Patent number: 8267342
Abstract: The present invention relates to a traverse guide of a novel design and construction and a transfer link that together transfer the advancing yarn to a grasping device and, once it has been grasped, back to the traverse guide. The transfer link shifts the advancing yarn from the traverse guide while still positioning the yarn within a virtual controlled zone within which the yarn stays until it is grasped by the grasping device, where after, during the return stroke of transfer link, the advancing yarn is placed back into the traverse guide so that yarn can be uniformly wound on the bobbin.

  • Patent number: 6629660
Abstract: A method and apparatus for winding synthetic fibers is disclosed. According to the invention, a yarn is wound around a bobbin without winding a tail bunch, at a high successful bobbin-to-bobbin yarn transfer rate for a variety of yarn properties, i.e. different in thickness, lubricant used, etc., while inhibiting the loosening of the yarn tail into single fibers and stably and easily forming a proper yarn tail length. Tail bunch removing work is not required and the winding process is stabilized. A yarn is wound around an empty bobbin using a yarn winding apparatus composed of a traverse fulcrum guide, a traverse device, a contact pressure roller, two spindles, a moving device for moving the spindles, and a yarn transfer device for introducing the yarn into a yarn holding portion for holding the yarn.

  • Publication number: 20030052213
Abstract: A textile tube on which yarn is wound to form a pack comprises a body having a tubular body extending between opposed ends and an outer surface. At least one recessed score is defined proximate at least one end of the tube body. The recessed score has a substantially rectangular shape wherein the width of the recessed score is at least about five time the depth of the recessed score. As such, the recessed score provides more surface area for capturing yarn during a winding procedure. The recessed score also retains a substantially constant shape regardless of the moisture content of the tube, which is particularly advantageous when the tube body is formed of paperboard or other hydroscopic material.

  • Patent number: 6435436
Abstract: A re-usable yarn carrier includes a tube having an annular recess formed in an outer peripheral surface adjacent one end of the tube. The annular recess defines a marking surface located radially inward from the outer peripheral surface. The marking surface includes markings, for example, colored bands, bar code or the like, for identifying at least one characteristic of the yarn wound onto the carrier. The marking surface may further include a knurled surface, slip-resistant coating, hooks or the like, for catching the yam at the start of the winding operation.

  • Patent number: 6412728
Abstract: A yarn reel having V-shape gradually narrowed slot cut with reverse fish scale shape having a rough surface. The reel includes a “V”-shape wide slot, a v-shape middle-wide slot, a narrow slot and an elongated slot with different widths being gradually set smaller and smaller from the wide slot to the elongated slot on the peripheral surface of said yarn reel. The wide slot being cut to be an open angle having a guide slope at the upper slope of the “V”-shape wide slot, and being cut to have many reverse fish scale shapes with a direction opposite to the yarn guiding direction to form the rough surfaces on both sides of the lower slope of the “V”-shape wide slot. The middle-wide slot is located following the wide slot with a width about one fifth to one sixth of said wide slot.

  • Patent number: 6189826
Abstract: An apparatus and method for guiding and cutting a continuously advancing yarn during a package doff in a yarn winding apparatus wherein the advancing yarn is wound on a driven bobbin tube. In this process, the yarn is guided by means of a movable yarn guide along a direction substantially parallel to the axis of the tube. Downstream of the yarn guide, a suction device is arranged, which includes a pneumatic suction inlet end and a cutter. The suction device cooperates with a transfer device, so as to cut the yarn during the package doff and receive the loose end of the advancing yarn. To facilitate a protective processing of the yarn during the package doff, during the catching, and during the winding of initial layers on a tube driven by a drive roll, the yarn guide is arranged in the path of the yarn upstream of the driven tube and the suction device downstream of the driven tube.
