Patent number: 11778997Abstract: A fishing line spooling assembly includes a bracket that can be positioned on a support surface and a pair of panels attached to the bracket. A first screw is extendable through each of the panels to rotatably retain a spool of fishing line between the panels. A window is slidable into each of the panels such that the window defines a front threshold of a spool space defined between the panels. The window has a line hole extending through the window thereby facilitating fishing line on the spool of fishing line to be extended through the line hole thereby facilitating the fishing line to be wound around a reel of a fishing pole. A pair of second screws is each coupled to and extends upwardly from the lower portion of the bracket thereby facilitating a respective spool of fishing line positioned on the second screws for storage.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2022Date of Patent: October 10, 2023Inventor: Steve Tennant

Patent number: 8805151Abstract: A lashing assembly lashes together two or more fiber optic telecommunications cables. The lashing assembly comprises at least a first and a second bobbin. As the cables are passed through the first bobbin, twine pays off from the first bobbin and wraps around the cables in a clockwise helix. As the cables are passed through the second bobbin, twine pays off from the second bobbin and wraps around the cables in a counterclockwise helix. In this way, the twine from the first and second bobbins lash the cables together as the cables are passed through the first and second bobbins.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2011Date of Patent: August 12, 2014Assignee: ADC Telecommunications, Inc.Inventors: Wayne M. Kachmar, Ronald J. Kleckowski, Trevor D. Smith

Publication number: 20120312477Abstract: A device is provided for winding wire into a coil. The device includes a shaft for turning on an axis; a hub attached to the shaft; inner and outer wheels; a mandrel having an outer radial surface for looping the wire; and a guide connectable to the mandrel and extending past the inner wheel. The shaft is structurally supported by a housing. The inner wheel, mandrel and outer wheel are removably fastened to the hub, the wire passes along the guide and lays along the radial surface of the mandrel, and the shaft rotates for looping the wire around the mandrel. The shaft can be rotated either manually or by a motor. A system is provided that includes the winding device, and further includes a wire-feed device, particularly for arranging several strands of wire into a ribbon.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2010Publication date: December 13, 2012Applicant: United States Government, as represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventor: Joseph M. Publication number: 20110220756Abstract: An improved apparatus for winding hoses such as those used in the firefighting industry. The apparatus includes a control mechanism adapted for engagement by an operator to move the apparatus along a support surface while concurrently controlling the winding of the hose. The apparatus has an operating configuration and a storage configuration. In the operating configuration the control mechanism is at a first height convenient for the operator to move the apparatus backward and forward in multiple directions while concurrently to control rotation of a hose winder assembly. In the storage configuration the height of the control mechanism is changeable to a second height which allows storage of the apparatus in a substantially smaller space as compared to the operating configuration.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2011Publication date: September 15, 2011Inventors: James L. Mosher, Herbert H. Loeffler

Publication number: 20100258669Abstract: A strap and cord winder is adjustable for different width straps and reconfigurable for cords. The winder includes a handle assembly with a center shaft and an offset pin for engaging and winding a strap. The center shaft adjustably passes through a face plate creating an adjustable width between a handle arm of the handle assembly and the face plate for winding different width straps. A cylindrical grip is attached to the face plate opposite the handle arm and the face plate attaches to a chest plate. A spool may be positioned on the center shaft between the handle arm and face plate for coiling cords and hoses and the offset pin engages a notch on one end of the spool to couple rotation of the handle to rotation of the spool. The spool includes disks at each end including open ended slots reaching radially to capture cord ends.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 9, 2010Publication date: October 14, 2010Inventors: Joseph Paul Gonzales, Donna Lynn Gonzales, Fernando B. Patent number: 6682010Abstract: An optical fiber winding apparatus includes a base, a plurality of fiber containment devices connected to the base, and a fiber guider connected to and movable in a repeatable path with respect to the base, wherein the guider winds the fiber around the fiber containment devices. The apparatus is hand-held, and the path of the guider overlaps itself in a single cycle of the path, such as a figure-eight.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 2001Date of Patent: January 27, 2004Assignee: Dorsal Networks, Inc.Inventor: Brent Pohl

Patent number: 6254029Abstract: A weed trimmer line rewinder device for use by the elderly and those persons having arthritis in the hands. The main work performed by the device rests with a hand crank having a shaft from which extends at least one sliding lug key that can be placed in any location along a track in the shaft so as to be engageable with lugs on various sized spools, including spools for both electric powered and gas powered weed trimmers. A vertically oriented filler string spool axle is on the opposite end of the base board. The filler spool axle has a sharpened top end used to poke through plastic in which the filler spool is wrapped. Midway between the weed trimmer spool and the filler spool is an F-shaped guide peg affixed to the base board. The guide peg provides horizontal guidance and imparts tension upon the weed trimmer string as it is wound around, and replenishes the weed trimmer spool.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2000Date of Patent: July 3, 2001Inventors: Judy K. Robertson, Tyler J. Robertson
