The apparatus has a device for holding and positioning at least first and second rolls of paper with respect to each other; a device for dispensing paper from the first roll; a device for dispensing paper from the first and second rolls simultaneously when the first roll reduces to a predetermined diameter of paper, a device for positioning the depleted first roll for replacement without the necessity of removing the second roll; and a device for dispensing from the second and replacement rolls simultaneously when the second roll reduces to a predetermined diameter of paper. The apparatus also has a capacity-change based proximity sensor comprising a circuit according to a balanced bridge principle where detection is based on detecting a phase difference, which depends upon the amount of detected capacitance difference or change.

Abstract: A multiple coil dispenser supports a pair of coils for dispensing a flexible material from one of the coils. The dispenser includes a frame and at least one coil support for supporting the coils for rotation. A fixed arm is mounted to the frame and includes a plurality of rollers positioned longitudinally therealong. A movable arm is pivotally mounted to the frame for movement toward and away from the fixed arm. The movable arm has a plurality of rollers positioned longitudinally therealong and is biased away from the fixed arm. A bifurcated chute directs the strapping material from one of the coils to the arms. A brake assembly is operably connected to the movable arm between an engaged position when the movable arm is moved away from the fixed arm and a disengaged position when the movable arm is moved toward the fixed arm. A space between the fixed arm and the movable arm defines an accumulation region that varies in size as the movable arm moves toward and away from the fixed arm.

Abstract: The invention is a toilet paper dispenser designed to hold two rolls of toilet paper. The dispenser has a housing containing a primary roll support and a secondary roll support. The secondary roll support is disposed parallel to and vertically above the primary roll support. The secondary roll support is connected to a release mechanism operative to lower the secondary roll support into a position to dispense toilet paper from its roll of toilet paper when the primary roll of toilet paper is exhausted. A roll guard prevents access to the secondary roll until the release mechanism has been activated. The release mechanism is automatically activated and released by a user-controlled trigger mechanism, preferably a lever, so that a user exhausting the primary roll of toilet paper may access the secondary roll without interfering with the dispenser.

The paper roll storage and paper towel dispenser includes a container assembly including a container having a bottom wall, side walls, a front wall, and an open top; and also including a lid assembly including a lid being hingedly attached to the container and being closeable over the open top, and also including a handle securely attached to the lid; and further includes a bracket assembly being securely attached to the container for supporting a roll of paper thereupon.

Abstract: A device for inserting a strip of material in a dispensing machine for material wipes of the type in which the machine includes a housing, a cover, the housing having end shields that support a reel holder, and a drum with a cutting device. The drum includes a cam associated with a start and return spring, a protection flap being located in front of the drum along with a pressure roller resting against the drum. The protection flap has an upper extension forming a support frame devised to accommodate a hinged secondary flap and a swivelling shaped plate is located behind the drum and capable of supporting a service roll that is being used up. The swivelling shaped plate cooperates with a mechanism capable of locking the secondary flap in position when a spare roll (RR) is being loaded and the service roll (RS) is positioned so that it can be used up.

Abstract: The invention is directed to improved apparatus for dispensing flexible web material from plural rolls including improved transfer apparatus for reliably and simply dispensing material from a secondary roll once a primary roll has been depleted. The improved transfer apparatus comprises a one-piece transfer arm, first and second transfer rollers rotatably secured with respect to the transfer arm and a sensing member secured with respect to the transfer arm in position to contact the primary roll web surface. The sensing member permits movement of the transfer arm and transfer rollers to a transfer position once the primary roll diameter diminishes to a predetermined extent causing the secondary roll material to be dispensed.

Abstract: A paper holding device for holding at least two rolls of paper has a first roll carrying assembly and a second roll carrying assembly, the first and second roll carrying assemblies including first and second pegs that enable either of the first or second roll carrying assemblies is mountable upon a paper holding bracket. The first or second roll carrying assemblies are connected by first and second support arms that removably engage a groove in the first and second pegs. When the first roll carrying assembly is mounted on the paper holding bracket, the first and second support arms support the second roll carrying assembly in an orientation that is generally horizontal, such that the first and second roll carrying assembles are useful for supporting and dispensing, together, at least two rolls of paper.

Abstract: A wiping paper dispenser for hand towels and toilet paper includes a housing having a gantry which tilts relative to the housing and receives an idle roller in contact with a contained reel of paper material for ensuring a dual function of pressing and braking the reel and preventing curling. The gantry is linked to a hinged flap at the front base of the housing countering a spring, the flap being adjustable in relation to a rotatable drum. The drum and the idle roller are rotatably driven in response to the user's pull on an extending paper strip from the reel of material.

Abstract: A toilet paper dispensing system including a mounting member securable to a ceiling within a bathroom. An elongated paper holding tube is coupled with the mounting member. The paper holding tube has a central post extending downwardly therefrom. The paper holding tube has an access opening therein disposed upwardly of an open lower end thereof. An end cap is adapted for removable coupling with the open lower end of the paper holding tube. The end cap has a central post extending upwardly therefrom. A lock mechanism is disposed within the end cap for selectively locking the end cap with respect to the paper holding tube.

Abstract: Devices and methods for paying off an elongate material between two coaxially aligned packages without interruption. The elongate material from a first wound package is connected to the elongate material of a second wound package by joining the tail end of the first wound package to the head end of the second wound package. Each wound package includes the elongate material having a body portion and a tail portion wound about a core. Also, each body portion has the head end at an outer diameter of the respective package and each tail portion has the tail end at an inner diameter substantially corresponding to a diameter of the core. Further, the path of the wound elongate material is transitioned from the first wound package to the second wound package by providing transition device having a supporting surface.

Abstract: A toilet tissue dispensing mechanism includes a unit formed by a pair of parallel vertical walls. Each wall includes vertically spaced openings arranged such that the openings of each wall are in vertically staggered relationship with the openings of the other wall when the movable wall is closed. Each opening has a roll-mounting structure associated therewith, whereby each wall is capable of concurrently dispensing a pair of tissue rolls. Each roll-mounting structure includes a shield mounted for swinging movement between open and closed positions for securing the rolls in their respective openings. To convert such a mechanism to a dispenser which dispenses rolls sequentially rather than concurrently, the shields are swung to their open positions, and adapter plates are positioned against inside surfaces of respective ones of the walls to cover the openings therein. The plates are pressed against the respective walls by edges of the shields.

When the supply of web on the core borne by the stub of the receiver is exhausted, the external surface of the thus exposed core is engaged by a second set of jaws which transport the core to a collecting station or the like. Sheet-like partitions which are disposed between neighboring layers of fresh bobbins in the stack are removed by suction cups which are mounted on a reciprocable pusher together with the jaws of the second set.

Exterior section of lever will pivot off its center point facilitating a shift of position of interior appendage arms, blocking stored rolls, while releasing loaded roll; then will inverse its function to release stored roll into blocked loaded position, which returns lever back to a checking of the two most bottom rolls. Rolls are delivered one at a time to a base designed to rotate toilet roll. A set of three rollers, confined by units side and back plates, will contain and facilitate rotation of toilet roll.

The cover includes detents which cooperate with the pivotally mounted tissue roll engaging member to prevent the cover from being moved from one position in which one of the tissue rolls is exposed to a second position in which the other tissue roll is exposed until the one tissue roll is depleted or substantially depleted.

When the band reel in use becomes empty, band feeding unit 30 is driven in reverse to thereby discharge a rear end portion of the band and, further, a front end portion of other band in stand-by condition is moved to a position of use by means of band changeover unit 20. An automatic band charging device can be provided which enables rapidly replacing an empty band reel with a spare band reel and which has a simple structure and realizes a reduced number of constituent parts, thereby contributing to the miniaturization of the packing machine.

A pair of the adapters may engage and hold the roll therebetween within the dispenser and may allow for the roll to move along the slots defined in the dispenser to a dispensing position.

A pivoted shaft is mounted adjacent to the sheet material engagement member having a feed roller mounted thereon. The shaft and feed roller are moved toward the sheet material engagement member and the feed roller is rotated to transport the sheet material over the smooth outer surface of the sheet material engagement member. A tucker member is attached to the sheet material engagement member and rotates upon depletion of a primary roll of sheet material to position the lead end of a reserve roll between the sheet material engagement member and the feed roller.

When the sector (5) is kept at a first, substantially vertical position, the opening (20) is obstructed. A spring (15) urges the sector (5) to rotate until reaching a second position at which point, the previously obstructed opening (20) is made accessible.

The small plate is restored to its initial position at the end of operation. The diameter of pin (12) is much less than the diameter of the core. This loading device is suitable for any type of dispensing apparatus for paper wipes.

In this context an adapter is provided with which the magazine can be joined, in the direction of the member center axis, to a further magazine of the same shape and size; whereby the adapter has an arrangement which can be brought into engagement with the closure disks of the two magazines.

Abstract: Apparatus for alternately dispensing toilet tissue from coreless rolls of toilet tissue includes a dispenser having a cover movable between two positions to alternately expose rolls of coreless toilet tissue within the dispenser. A partition having an opening is affixed to the cover and movable with the cover. A pair of coreless roll spindles are mounted within the dispenser in axial alignment with one another and with the partition opening. The partition opening alternately receives the coreless roll spindles when the cover moves between the two positions. The disclosed apparatus can be used to retrofit an existing dispenser normally employed to sequentially dispense toilet tissue from two adjacent rolls of toilet tissue having cores.

The remnant roll is carried with its axis perpendicular to the axis of the large roll. The spindle preferably has a tubular body and detachable ribs for increasing the diameter of the body.

The feed unit receives material which can selectively be fed from rolls of receiving material rotatably placed in drawers in the feed unit. A channel is formed on a panelling part of the feed unit at a working height for a standing operator. It is possible to place a roll of receiving material provided with a hollow core in the channel in order to introduce a spindle into the roll core. After the fitting of the spindle into the core, the operator can, without moving his position, place the roll of receiving material in an open drawer on bearing blocks disposed therein.

Abstract: A combination drying unit has a towel roll rotatably held within a housing. An air blower, powered by a motor, is also held within the housing. The motor provides a stream of air from the air blower through an opening in the housing. The motor also powers, via an appropriate transmission unit, a guide roller, which engages a towel stream and dispenses the stream through a second opening. A sensor detects a towel outage within the device and communicates, in appropriate fashion, the towel outage condition.

Abstract: The dispenser and rack for a roll of paper, plastic, or foil, which comprises a magazine for generally vertical disposition having an open bottom, and the inside dimensions of the magazine are sufficient to accommodate at least one roll. A paddle is mounted in the magazine, and a handle affixed to the paddle extends from an opening in the magazine and is free to be moved along the opening so as to actuate the paddle between a lower-most position and an upper-most position. The paddle is arranged so when in its lower-most position, it obstructs the open bottom so as to prevent a roll from dropping from the magazine; and when the paddle is actuated to its upper-most position, clearance is provided to allow a roll to drop from the magazine. A suitable bracket depends from the magazine beneath the open bottom, and the paddle allows one roll a time to drop from the magazine for engagement with the bracket, and is revolvedly mounted on the bracket, thereby exposing the roll for use.

Abstract: Dispenser apparatus for sequentially dispensing sheet material from two center pull coreless rolls of sheet material disposed side-by-side includes a housing and a support within the housing for supporting the two coreless rolls on end and side-by-side. A closure member is mounted on the housing to enable only one roll at a time to be manually accessed for dispensing.

Each cantilevered spindle extends from a distal portion of each arm so that the weight of a full roll of sheet material on the spindle urges the turret to rotate placing a full roll of sheet material at a dispensing position.

Abstract: Dispenser apparatus for dispensing paper sheet material from one or more paper rolls includes a housing having a bottom opening communicating with the interior of the housing. A paper roll support is located at the bottom opening partially closing the bottom opening. The paper roll support forms a dispensing opening into which the paper roll projects to provide ready access to the paper roll. The paper roll support includes a downwardly curved roll engagement surface which forms a nip with the paper roll during dispensing.

Abstract: A two roll paper dispenser has roll-supporting mandrels mounted on slide blocks in a cantilevered position. The mandrels are automatically movable from a position wherein the first mandrel is located at a juncture of a first path and a second path and the second mandrel is located above the first mandrel in the first path and wherein the first mandrel can be moved from the juncture along carried thereon to open the juncture when sufficient paper is consumed from its roll. A spring engages the first mandrel slide block biasing the mandrel for movement away from the juncture, and the second mandrel slide block is biased for movement along the second path toward the juncture. The mandrels each have a proximal end attached to one of the mandrel slide blocks and a distal free end for insertion thereon of a roll of paper.

Abstract: A dual roll dispenser is disclosed. The device comprises a housing unit having a first paper towel roll and a second paper towel roll mounted therein. Paper automatically dispenses paper from one of the rolls while the second roll remains idle. When a sensor detect that the roll being dispensed is exhausted, the device automatically engages the second paper towel roll and begins dispensing from this second roll. Displays, both local and remote, are activated to communicate a paper absent condition. The device can be used in standalone configuration or in conjunction with an air blower wherein activation of the device activates the air blower for a preset amount of time and thereafter dispenses a single paper towel sheet.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing up to approximately one and one-half rolls of flexible sheet material. The dispenser includes a dispensing mechanism and a roll transfer and supporting mechanism. The roll transfer and supporting mechanism includes a pair of guide tracks, a pivotally spring biased sensor plate, a pair of opposing reserve roll supports, a pair of transfer links each connecting the sensor plate to a respective reserve roll support, a support roller, and a support surface located below the support roller. The guide tracks guide the core ends of the rolls through the dispenser. The reserve roll supports are pivotally mounted adjacent the upper end of the guide tracks, and hold a roll in a reserve position when a dispensing roll is smaller than a first predetermined diameter and greater than a second predetermined diameter.

Abstract: A dispenser for a roll of tissue material wound around a tubular roll core having an inner surface, the dispenser comprising a housing including a base; and a mandrel mounted on the base for supporting the roll for rotation about a generally horizontally extending axis, the mandrel including an outer surface and structure for reducing frictional engagement between the roll core inner surface and the mandrel outer surface.
