Abstract: The strap spool is mountable to drive shafts in various strap winding apparatus, such as winches and torsion spring counterbalances. The strap spool has a two piece design where two symmetrical spool halves slidably mate to form a drum around which the strap is wound. Each spool half has a central hub with an axial opening, which allows the spool halves to mount onto a drive shaft. An annular flange extending radially around the hub and a barrel sleeve extends from the hub perpendicular to the flange. When spool halves are mated together on a drive shaft, the barrel sleeves slidably extend into axial openings in the hub of the opposite spool half and form a tubular drum overlying the drive shaft around which the strap is wound.

  • Patent number: 7497402
Abstract: The invention is particularly directed to the problem of creep deformation in a coiled aluminum strip, which occurs during coiling and for a period thereafter. The problem arises because the profile of the strip across its width is not flat, and is in fact usually thicker in the middle than at the edges (positive crown). To compensate for this, the invention provides that the spool onto which the coil is wound is adapted to provide more support to the strip in the center than at the edges, by making the central portion of the spool of a greater diameter than the end portions of the spool. A strip having a positive crown which is wound onto such a spool was found to exhibit significantly reduced creep strain, leading to reduced creep deformation.

The components are accommodated in the accommodating tape at predetermined intervals along a longitudinal direction of the tape. The components are covered with the covering tape. The apparatus includes a reel around which the separated covering tape is wound. The reel includes a reel body having a winding barrel removably mounted on a driving shaft and a guide flange positioned at one end of the driving shaft and a guide flange positioned at one end of the driving shaft. An inelastic auxiliary ring is provided so as to wind the covering tape about the peripheral surface thereof. The ring includes a rotation preventing portion and is removably mounted on a peripheral surface of the winding barrel.

  • Patent number: 5558297
Abstract: A neckerchief rolling device includes first and second rods which are provided with co-acting fasteners for joining the interior ends thereof in end to end aligned relation. A neckerchief engagement adjacent the interior end of at least one of the rods engages a corner edge of a neckerchief for rolling the neckerchief onto the rod in response to rolling movement of the rod across the neckerchief. The co-acting fasteners are releasable, enabling axial withdrawal of the first and second rods from opposite ends from the rolled up neckerchiefs.

  • Patent number: 5374007
Abstract: A ribbon supply apparatus including a support in which a ribbon supply spool and a take-up spool are rotatably mounted. The supply and take-up spools and the support are designed so that these spools can be mounted in the support in only one way, the correct way. The ribbon is supplied on a tubular core member which is mounted on a cylindrical member which is part of the supply spool. The ribbon supply spool has a large gear thereon which is used in a braking and feeding mechanism which is used to incrementally feed the ribbon to a print station associated with the apparatus. The ribbon take-up spool is identical to the ribbon supply spool, but the ribbon take-up spool is mounted in a reversed manner when compared to the ribbon supply spool. A driving gear, coupled to the large gear on the take-up spool is part of the braking and feeding mechanism which also includes a "dancer arm". The dancer arm controls a loop of ribbon which is fed to the print station.
