  • Patent number: 9843937
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for optimizing the distribution of a broadband wireless signal in a building. The methods and systems include at least one antenna inserted into a building ventilation system and transmitting a wireless broadband signal from a transmitter in communication with the antenna. The wireless broadband signal will include multiple orthogonal subcarriers. The methods and systems further include detecting the wireless broadband signal with a receiver in the building. In selected embodiments, the methods and systems may include the steps of analyzing a parameter of the detected wireless broadband signal and optimizing the wireless broadband signal based at least in part upon the analyzed parameter.

  • Patent number: 9419690
Abstract: A method for selection of a received telegram in a train wireless communications system including a plurality of wireless base stations situated along the train tracks, for respectively communicating with a higher level device through a wired circuit, and at least one terminal having at least two or more antennas installed in cars of the train moving down the track, during a predetermined transmission interval of a downstream telegram received from a higher level device, the wireless base station twice transmits telegrams that include at least identical content; the terminal, using the plurality of antennas, receives the telegrams transmitted by the wireless base station, selects the received telegram having the best reception from among those received by the plurality of antennas as the received telegram, and transmits a response telegram to the wireless base station, in response to the telegram received from the wireless base station.

  • Publication number: 20150008293
Abstract: A train control apparatus includes: a first ground device 22a provided in a first section CZ1; and a second ground device 22b provided in a second section CZ2 continuing from the first section CZ1 in a train travel direction. When a train 10 in the first section CZ1 enters a control transition section ZCR determined using a control section border CZI as a termination end, the first ground device 22a instructs a first vehicle radio set 14r to send a first report signal RR1 to the first ground device 22a in accordance with a first communication condition determined by the first ground device 22a, and instructs a second vehicle radio set 14f to send a second report signal RF2 to the second ground device 22b in accordance with a second communication condition determined by the second ground device 22b.

  • Patent number: 5297917
Abstract: A method of remote control of a mobile carriage including at least one transmit and receive antenna for movement into an underground gallery connected to the surface by a shaft provided with an elevator for effecting deep storage of radioactive wastes. The method involves fitting the site with a plurality of waveguides from a control station which includes a signal generator and a signal receiver and being situated on the surface. The plurality of waveguides are disposed with at least one first waveguide at the surface extending from the control station to the entrance to the shaft. At least one second waveguide is disposed along the shaft and connected at its top end to the first waveguide. At least one third waveguide is disposed along the gallery and connected to the second waveguide in the vicinity of the entrance to the gallery.

  • Patent number: 4109205
Abstract: An electrical fail-safe filter consists of a transistor amplifier with a frequency-selective positive feedback circuit such as a resistance capacitance network shunting the collector and emitter of the transistor such that failure of any component of the feedback circuit results in a reduction in the overall gain of the stage. The filter is described in its application to a fail-safe receiver for a railway signalling system.

  • Patent number: RE28867
Abstract: A communication system between mobile and wayside stations wherein the mobile stations are traveling on a track which is divided into sections by means of an open-type transmission line paralleling the track. A frequency selection and conversion device for each section of transmission line or track is connected to the transmission line to define the length of each section. A series of lower frequency carriers transmitted on the line are allotted respectively to each specific section of transmission line. These low-frequency carriers travel with a low loss along the transmission line and they are selected and converted by their respective frequency selection and converter device to a common high-frequency carrier signal for leaky transmission to a mobile station on the corresponding track section.
