The connection means includes a rotatable unit and a control means for controlling one or more functions to aid the use of a bin including to selectively control the connection means. The connection means is able selectively to raise and to lower the bin lid with respect to the closely located bin.

Abstract: A receptacle having a lid can be provided with a pair of dampers configured to slow the movement of the lid from its open position toward its closed position. In some embodiments, the damper is configured to be high endurance and low noise. For example, the damper may comprise lubricants, such as a graphite powder. Abstract: A foot actuated door opener for a waste receptacle includes a foot pedal, a door position adjustment device, and a force transfer device. The foot pedal is coupled to the waste receptacle. The door position adjustment device is coupled to a pivoting door of the waste receptacle to move the door between a closed position and an open position. The force transfer device is connected to an exterior of the waste receptacle to transfer a force applied to the foot pedal to the door position adjustment device to move the door from the closed position to the open position.
