  • Patent number: 5657868
Abstract: A floral delivery box apparatus which provides protection of a floral arrangement associated therewith from being damaged while carried or damaged from tipping during delivery and further allows for floral wrapping thereof, composed of a box member and a base member. The base is provided with a plurality of wings which are connected by stapling to the side walls of the box. The box is configured to receive the pot of a floral arrangement, and the base is configured to provide a planar surface having an area much larger than that of the box. In this regard, the box serves as a receptacle to restrain lateral movement of the floral arrangement with respect to the base, and the base serves as an anti-tipping member, where a sufficiently large lever arm between the center thereof and the edge of the base is such that the floral arrangement is immune to tipping over during normally encountered inertial forces of transportation by a motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5634617
Abstract: A supporting assembly for a mixing bowl is provided including a support having first and second opposing edges and at least one open end defining an interior space. First and second holding members are provided, each holding member covering at least a portion of an associated edge of the support. The holding members are constructed and arranged such that when the supporting assembly is disposed with the first holding member in contact with a planar surface and a mixing bowl is at least partially disposed in the interior space with the second holding member contacting a peripheral surface of the mixing bowl, friction between the mixing bowl and the second holding member and between the planar surface and the first holding member holds the bowl stationary with respect to the planar surface when contents of the mixing bowl are mixed.

  • Patent number: 5292093
Abstract: A foldable holder for flexible trash bags, the holder having planar sections which are connected to one another along adjacent edges so as to form a closed or tubular body. The preferred material for the planar sections or panels is corrugated paperboard (i.e., "cardboard"). The preferred configuration includes four connected panels which are sized to create a square-shaped holder when the panels are moved to their fully expanded condition. Two opposite panels are scored vertically along their mid-regions so that they may be folded internally until they touch--or nearly touch, thereby allowing the other two sides to be brought together in a parallel fashion. The collapsed mode for the holder (wherein the holder constitutes only about 5% of its expanded mode) constitutes a handy storage condition for the holder, so that it might be tucked behind an appliance such as a stove or hung in a closet when it is not in use.

When the tops move past the teeth they bend back and engage the outer surfaces of the teeth, thereby maintaining the bag fully open and in proper position for use. Removal of the bag is the reverse of this procedure. The receptacle side walls project above the other walls to define handle anchorages about which the flexible handles of a plastic bag can be looped to support the plastic bag in open position. The receptacle is thus adapted to handle either paper or plastic bags.

  • Patent number: 4681224
Abstract: A florist's implement for temporarily stabilizing a flower or plant container or the like during transport is disclosed. The implement includes first and second square sheets of a flexible material hingedly connected to one another such that the sheets may be folded into superimposed juxtaposition to provide upper and lower sheets. The upper sheet is provided, on its upper face, with a series of scores in a predetermined pattern. There is first arranged a grid of scores equally spaced between and parallel to the square edges to obtain an array of squares. The number of scores is selected to obtain a junction of two mutually perpendicular scores at the center of the square sheet. The single central score which is directed generally normal to the hinge side of the sheet is heavier than the scores to which it is parallel and perpendicular and is sufficiently heavy as to permit ready manual separation along its length by hand.

  • Patent number: 4678149
Abstract: A support is constructed from a single, flat blank, e.g. of a resilient plastics material, which comprises an array of spaced, parallel tongues joined at their roots by a web and a base portion which is integral with the free end of one of the tongues and bendable relative thereto to a position where tabs on the remaining tongues can be passed through arcuate slots in the base. The tongues splay from the web so that some diverge downwardly while the rest converge downwardly to provide a cage-like enclosure adapted to hole a container for viscous material, such as a sauce bottle, in an inverted position. A projection on one end of the web engages a lug on its other end to hold the web in the shape of a ring, and the tabs lock in their associated slots by resuming a flat condition after being bent to pass through the arcuate slots.

  • Patent number: 4627414
Abstract: A stand for supporting a non-stick cooking liquid spray dispenser at a predetermined height above a heated cooking surface, such as a griddle, is disclosed. The stand, fabricated of an insulating material such as a high temperature plastic, is a generally tubular structure including a base section, an upper section for receiving and retaining the dispenser and a smaller diameter intermediate section joining the base and upper sections. The intermediate section defines a chamber in communication with the upper section for retaining sufficient air heated by the high temperature griddle to maintain the desired temperature level of the cooking liquid. Baffling disposed between the chamber and the base section deflects hot air rising from the griddle and provides radiative surfaces so that the temperature of the cooking liquid does not exceed a temperature range that is optimum for applying the liquid to the cooking surface by spraying.

  • Patent number: 4619426
Abstract: A collapsible, self-erecting hollow structure which is formed from an integral blank of paperboard which is cut and scored to form a plurality of side and end walls which when erected form the hollow structure. Each of the plurality of side and end walls are hingedly connected along one edge thereof with at least one other wall. The hollow structure also has at least two flaps, each of which is hingedly connected along one edge thereof with at least one of the plurality of side walls. These flaps each is cut and scored to form an attachment and further is folded and affixed to one of the plurality of end walls on the side thereof which is interior of the erected hollow structure. An elastic means such as a rubber band is secured under tension to the attachments and normally pulls the two end walls to which the flaps are hingedly connected toward one another and thereby erecting said hollow structure. The hollow structure may also have affixed to it a copy extender.

  • Patent number: 4589619
Abstract: The food holder of the present invention is prepared from a foldable material such as paperboard or the like in the form of an open ended sleeve. The sleeve is made from a single blank of material and comprises a central panel and a pair of end panels which overlap and are adhered together to form the sleeve. The end panels extend outwardly and upwardly with respect to the central panel and are joined to the central panel along upwardly converging fold lines. The sleeve is normally disposed in a flattened condition prior to use. When opened to accept a food product, the sleeve assumes a generally elliptical cross sectional shape with inclined ends and a top opening that is smaller than its bottom opening. Each inclined end includes an integral lock for maintaining the sleeve in its open condition.
