Abstract: A temporary load support system including a permanent portion comprising a stud having a stem and crosspiece, and a removable load support member comprising a cavity, configured to receive the stud and engage the crosspiece upon relative rotation of the support member relative to the stud while the stud is received in the cavity, whereby the support member is removably attached to the stud so as to enable load transfer from the support member to the stud.

Abstract: A step assembly is provided that can be easily slipped into a utility pole opening and locked in place, and then easily removed after use. The step assembly includes 1) a step member having first and second legs, which are connected at one end and open at the opposite end and 2) a lever member that is rotatably attached to the step member and that urges the first and second legs apart. The free end of the legs include tabs protruding upwardly. The step assembly is inserted into the utility pole opening by pressing the legs toward each other. The step assembly is then inserted into the opening. The legs are released such that the legs spread apart and press against the opening's sides. The lever member is then rotated, forcing the enlarged portion between the legs of the step assembly to lock the step assembly in place.

Abstract: An assembly has a vertical guide including a base part provided with spaced-apart holes, raised edge portions and legs turned towards each other on the edge portions. The assembly also includes supporting arms that are movable within the vertical guide and securing members by which supporting arms can be secured within the vertical guide. The securing members can be placed in the holes with a stub and will come to bear against the inner side of the guide with their cams by rotation, in which a supporting arm will come to bear on the securing member through an obliquely extending contact surface.

Abstract: An antenna mounting device is provided to fasten an antenna to an external element (2). Two support members (3) are provided which may be attached to said external element (2) with a space in between. Each support member (3) has at least one cylindrical section (4) oriented in the direction of said space whereby a brace (10) of the antenna (1) may be attached onto said cylindrical section (4) by means of a fastening element (5) encompassing the same. This allows simple installation of antennas to walls, for example, with considerably lower installation requirements while having the same adjustment possibilities as with an auxiliary pole. For example, the antenna mounting device may be directly employed for fastening three antennas to one pole through completion of said antenna mounting device with a complementary support member.

Abstract: A detachable bracket. The bracket includes a body having an elongate slot open to the internal end and the surface, an engagement member inserted into the slot, the engagement member having a concave surface facing the slot, a threaded member releasably secured onto the slot, and a pivot member at the outer end of the body. The pivot member includes a longitudinal groove perpendicular to the slot. In assembly, mount a sliding post to body from the internal end of the slot, insert the engagement member into the slot to engage the concave surface with the post, secure the threaded member onto the slot, and hand a shower head on the groove.

Abstract: A device and method for temporarily supporting and securing the cross-arm of a utility pole during operations that require the cross-arm retaining means to be loosened or removed. One exemplary embodiment of a support device of the present invention comprises an attachment member and a support member. The attachment member may be releasably secured to the upright post portion of the utility pole by means of, for example, a band clamp, or a fastener, such as a lag screw. The support member is designed to engage a portion of the cross-arm and secure it in position. Once secured, the necessary operation may be performed without the risk of the cross-arm tipping or falling. After the performance of the operation, the cross-arm retaining means is tightened or reinstalled, and the support device may be removed from the utility pole.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for supporting and displaying agricultural produce and sporting equipment is provided for forming decorative seasonal and sport related characters. An elongated rod serves as the vertical support for the produce and equipment. For outdoor use the rod can be secured directly into the ground or secured to a stand that is placed on the ground. The stand further allows the apparatus to be used indoors. In use, produce or equipment is either threaded onto the rod, after opposing holes are cut into the produce or equipment, or adjustable ring platforms can be positioned on the rod so that the platforms extend generally perpendicularly from the rod to support the produce or equipment in a vertical manner. An arm platform is provided that can be adjustably secured to the rod and positioned to form the character's arms. The platform is adapted to hold additional produce or equipment as desired.

Abstract: An attachment bracket for a shelf support system, adapted for being mounted to a post of square cross-section and for receiving a portion of a shelf unit therein, comprises a bracket. The bracket has a back wall defining a bottom, a top and vertical edges, and side arms, extending laterally from the vertical edges of the back wall, whereby defining outer surfaces and inner surfaces of the bracket. First protrusions are located on the inner surfaces of the bracket and are adapted for mating engagement with a corresponding indentation in the post for being vertically secured thereto. The side arms comprise slots adapted for supporting a portion of the shelf unit therein. The slots have friction edge portions, adapted for the captive engagement of the portion of the shelf unit therein. The inner surface of one of the side arms has a second protrusion at a predetermined distance from the back wall, whereby the bracket is adapted for snap-fitting engagement with the corner post.

Abstract: An attachment device is presented that is designed to be mounted onto a pole or other lengthy object. The device has two major components: a pole mounting portion attached to a spool mounting portion. By mounting the device onto the pole, the reach of a user is extended such that the user need not mount a ladder when mounting the light strings onto the building or other structure. The spool mounting section is designed to removably and rotationally receive an ornamental light string, ready to distribute stored ornamental light strings.

Abstract: A yieldable portable highway sign stand is provided. The sign stand comprises a base, and a sign support coupled to and extending upwardly from the base for supporting a highway sign above the ground. The sign support includes a generally rigid, generally upright portion having a first breakaway section that is yieldable along a first direction when subjected to a sufficient load at least partially along the first direction, and a second breakaway section that is yieldable along a second direction when subjected to a sufficient load at least partially along the second direction.

Abstract: Conceived to be place on a post, for instance that of a street-lamp, this support is constituted by two semi-clamps (1) and (2), which include various radial flanges (4-4′), those of one of the semi-clamps being equipped with toothed strips (5), and those of the other with grooves (6) with a complementary tooth, in such a way that the clamp closes by mere pressure of one semi-clamp on the other with the interposition of the post. Additionally, each semi-clamp includes a prismatic-rectangular housing (9), open at the top and sideways by means of an intermediate groove (10), where a prismatic-rectangular head (11) is capable of being plugged, said prismatic-rectangular head (11) finishing off each arm (12) sustaining the advertising publicity poster, and being perfectly stabilized in the housing (9) while the arm (12) emerges outwards through the groove (10).

Abstract: A support bracket assembly affixes and supports various cable duct raceway sections and is mountable to a rod, which may be affixed to various support structures such as a support bar or ladder rail. The bracket assembly includes a support bracket and a support element fixedly positionable on the rod. The bracket assembly includes a substantially planar support surface of a predetermined length with two longitudinal edges and two ends, a substantially planar flange surface substantially parallel to and spaced from the support surface and having a longitudinal edge on a same side as a first longitudinal edge of the support surface, and a connecting surface that connects the support surface and the flange surface. A first opening is provided on the planar support surface near one of the two ends. The first opening extends inward from the first longitudinal edge of the support surface and is sized to receive a rod. The first opening defines at least a rear contact surface and a side contact surface.

Abstract: Mailbox construction where an integral sleeve mount allows for easy installation over a user-supplied support, creating an interference fit without use of fasteners. The sleeve mount can be expandable to provide a mechanical bias, and can include friction materials, adhesives, knife mounts, or stab mounts. Angular deviation of the mailbox about a vertical axis is reduced or eliminated relative to prior art mounting schemes.

Abstract: An apparatus for mounting a banner, comprising an arm and a base. The arm includes a proximal portion, a distal portion adapted for holding the banner, and a spring portion connecting the proximal portion to the distal portion. The base is adapted for attaching the proximal portion of the arm to a structure. The apparatus may be used in a banner hanging system, comprising at least two arms adapted for holding a banner and a set of two bases. One of the arms is adapted for holding a top end of the banner and the other of the arms is adapted for holding a bottom end of the banner. Each of the two bases may include two opposing receiver portions, each receiver portion being adapted for receiving and being attached to the proximal end of one of the arms. The opposing receiver portions are constructed and arranged to extend banners on opposing sides of the structure.

Abstract: A mounting rack is provided for supporting electrical equipment on a utility pole or other support. The mounting rack includes a mounting plate for attaching to the utility pole, a support member and at least one support bracket for coupling with the electrical equipment. The support member has at least one mounting arm coupled to the mounting plate to space the support member from the mounting plate. The mounting plate can have a mounting arm coupled to the support member. The mounting brackets are coupled to the mounting plate and to the support member by an intermediate bracket assembly. The intermediate bracket assembly has a pair of arms coupled to the mounting plate and the support member to space the respective mounting bracket from the mounting plate.

Abstract: A step assembly for securing a step to hollow poles and like. The step assembly includes a lock bushing and a mounting base that have cooperating flats to prevent relative rotational movement between the pole-like structure and the step. More particularly, the step includes a first end portion with an arm and a flat. The first end portion extends through a hole in the pole-like structure to position the arm in the pole-like structure. The lock bushing also includes a flat that defines, in part, an interior hole that receives the first end portion of the step so that the flat can engage the flat on the step. The lock bushing also includes an exterior flat and can be received by a hole defined by the base such that a flat surface or edge on the base engages the exterior flat on the lock bushing. The flats prevent relative rotational motion between the pole-like structure and the step.

Abstract: A bracket assembly including a first bracket assembly that includes an annular portion and a pair of opposing flange members extending outwardly from the annular portion so as to define an open center between the pair of opposing flange members, and a second bracket assembly that includes a back plate and two opposing sidewall members extending outwardly from the back plate. The second bracket assembly is received in the open center defined by the first bracket assembly, wherein the first bracket assembly includes an extended back portion that projects axially beyond the top edge of the back plate.

Abstract: A support for supporting items from an open stud wall or from an A-frame step ladder. The support includes a pair of spaced, parallel crossbars, and a support arm that interconnects the crossbar substantially at their centers and extends outwardly therefrom to define a supporting surface for supporting one or more spools of electrical wire, for convenient unreeling of household wiring during home construction. Various forms of adapters can be provided to permit unreeling wire from a spool supported for rotation about a vertical axis or horizontal axis, and for supporting other items such as tools, workbench surfaces, drawing tables, and the like. The support is of simple form, is easy to use, and is versatile to adapt to different wall and ladder sizes.

Abstract: A retaining means for evaporative cooler pads comprising a clip wherein the clip is resiliently deformable to enable fitment between a pair of evaporative cooler pads and wherein the evaporative cooler pads are retained in position upon release of the deforming force from the clip. The clip provides support and adjustment to evaporative pads in a single component which is easily installed and adjusted. The clips are always retained on a post inside the cooler, and thereby cannot be lost while servicing the cooler.

Abstract: A holding device for a hand-operated shower head contains a body, which is e.g. constructed as a slide for a wall rod and is held in longitudinally slidable manner on the wall rod. In its front it contains an adjusting screw for adjusting the force with which a brake mechanism acts on the wall rod. A reception element is articulated to the body so as to be pivotable about an axis upstream of the wall rod. The reception element receives part of the handle of a shower head, so as to fix the latter. The shower head can be pivoted in such a way that the median axis of the cone nut inserted in the receptacle is moved in a plane in which the longitudinal axis of the wall rod is also located.

Abstract: A thermostat wire holder is used behind a portion of wall covering to hold a thermostat wire next to a hole in the wall covering where a thermostat will be located. The wire holder insulates the hole in the wall covering so that the air inside the wall does not influence the thermostat reading. The holder is generally V-shaped when installed on a stud and includes front and rear support members.

Abstract: A blower holder for supporting and storing backpack type blowers on trailers and other vehicles. A shelf is mounted on a support post whereon the blower may rest. A bracket is attached to the post vertically above the shelf and includes hook members at opposing ends. The blower frame or back rest plate sides are selectively received in the hook members thereby sandwiching the blower frame or back rest plate between the hook members. One of the hook members is selectively movable against the blower side and may selectively be affixed along the bracket for sandwiching and retaining the frame or blower back rest plate. A loop is attached to an adjacent post and is adapted to receive and support the blower air pipe.

Abstract: Structure is disclosed for supporting immature plants and small trees to assure straight and healthy stem and trunk growth until the stem and/or trunk reaches a growth phase where it is self-supporting. Several embodiments of two part stakes are discussed including detachable upper and lower portion stakes and telescoping upper and lower portion stakes. Plant feeding features in the stakes are described and structure for providing cooperating stake pairs with novel interconnecting straps and stem/trunk engaging apparatus is disclosed. Stabilizing structure for the stakes is also disclosed, so that stem trunk support is strong enough to accomplish the intended purpose.

Abstract: A bracket for securing a sign to a post, includes a clamp formed as a flanged open substantially cylindrical body having facing arms adapted to be brought together by a bolt for holding the sign, the tightening of the bolt being both effective for attaching the sign to the bracket and the bracket to the post. The sign defines a slot having an open end for allowing the sign to be inserted between the arms of the body without having to completely unscrew the bolt.

Abstract: A mounting bracket useful for securing a base, such as an antenna to a pole, a tube or a post, or a similar anchor support, and including a first clamp part, being a base clamp, to be secured to the base (the antenna) adapted to be locked against the pole, and a second clamp part, being tightening clamp, adapted to partly embrace the pole and to be tightened to the base clamp with the pole clamped therebetween, preferably by a screw-nut connection on each side of the pole. Abstract: A support device for anchoring an antenna on a pylon rafter. The device includes an anchoring base to be applied to the outside of a first wing of an angle bar rafter. The anchoring base having a first hooking element for engaging the edge of the wing. The device has at least one shank hook for hooking to the edge of the second wing of the rafter. Each shank passing into a hole of the anchoring base and receiving at an extremity a tightening nut. The device also includes an interposition element provided to come under the nut and consisting of a rounded profile segment as regards its portion in contact against the anchoring base. This allows a variable slanting of the shank hook so as to obtain an anchoring also effective on different profile rafters.

Abstract: A bracket is disclosed for mounting one object on another. The bracket has two pivotally joined links, one for receiving said one object. Each link is pivotally joined to a respective fixing member for fixing to the other object. The pivotal joints have parallel pivotal axes so that the distance at which the fixing members are spaced, when fixed to the other object determines the angular orientation of said one object relative to the other.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for connecting a cross-arm to a pole. The apparatus includes a portion which completely surrounds the pole and an extending member extending transversely or outwardly from the pole. A cross-arm is connectable to the extended member.

Abstract: A portable hook hanging system particularly useful for campers and backpackers includes one or more hook elements that are releasably connected to a generally vertical object, such as a tree trunk, by a flexible cord or belt for hanging and supporting various articles. In a preferred embodiment, a plurality of hooks along with a rod and several lengths of cord are supplied in a kit and a flexible belt may also be supplied in the kit. Each hook has a generally H-shaped main body portion with first and second U-shaped recess extending transversely across the main body portion with the openings of the U-shaped recesses facing in vertically opposed directions. A flat rectangular tang portion and a flat leg portion are formed on a back side of the main body portion and a vertical slot is formed between the tang portion and main body portion which receives the cord or belt.

Abstract: An aethetically pleasing sign holder releasably engages a pole or post without requiring tools and protects a sign from the elements. A sign is slid into an opening formed in an edge of a thin, hollow sign housing, and a front wall of the housing is transparent so that the sign within the hollow housing is visible to observers. The sign housing is mounted to a swivally-mounted base and a pair of flexible and resilient, semi-circular parts are integrally formed with the base. The half parts are spread apart from one another to admit a pole between them, and converged toward one another to lock onto the pole. A catch is formed integrally with one of the half parts and a latch that releasably engages the catch is formed integrally with the other half part. The catch and latch include mating teeth that extend along a predetermined circumferential extent to enable attachment of the sign holder to poles of widely varying diameters.
