Keyhole Aperture Patents (Class 248/222.41)
  • Patent number: 6289826
Abstract: A work station support comprises two mounting brackets (4) arranged in use to be attached to a work station top (1) at a spaced relationship. Each mounting bracket (4) has a fixing plate (5) and an arm (6) extending from said fixing plate (5), two separate key hole slots (11, 12) formed in said fixing plate (5) at a locus about a center of rotation of said fixing plate (5). The wider part (13) of each key hole slot is adapted to engage over the head of a mounting stud (17) in use and upon rotation of the fixing plate (5), the stud is moved to the narrower part (14) of each key hole slot (11, 12). The said key hole slots (11, 12) are formed to require the fixing plates (5) to be rotated in opposite directions to move to the engaged position.

  • Patent number: 6266250
Abstract: This invention is a modular electronics mounting system according that is easy to install and that can be used with a wide variety of electronics components. A support plate includes a grid of holes arranged in at least one pair of columns spaced apart by a selected distance. The holes in each of the columns are spaced apart by a predetermined interval. The support plate is configured to be mounted to a wall such that the grid is spaced apart from the wall. A module formed generally as a plate such that an electronic component may be mounted thereto. The module includes a pair of hooks extending from a first edge of the plate. The hooks are spaced apart by the column spacing such that the hooks may be arranged to extend through first and second holes in the grid. A locking pin extends from the module such that the locking pin extends into a corresponding third hole in the grid to restrain the module against movement parallel to the support plate.

  • Patent number: 6256195
Abstract: A device for securing a computer data storage device in a computer enclosure includes a carrier fixed in the enclosure and defining a space for accommodating the data storage device. The carrier has a bottom plate and opposite side plate extending from the bottom plate. At least one slot is defined in the plates of the carrier. The slot has an inner end around which a raised portion of is formed on the corresponding plate of the carrier. A projection is mounted to a corresponding face of the data storage device and the projection has an expanded head separated from the face a predetermined distance whereby the projection is received in the slot and retained at the inner end thereof with the head engaging with and interacting with the raised portion for applying a force to the data storage device to securely fix the data storage device in the carrier.

  • Patent number: 6193198
Abstract: An assembly is mounted and secured on a support by at least one securing bolt that is pre-installed in the assembly and engages a keyhole-shaped opening provided in the support. The head of the bolt is inserted through the larger portion of the keyhole opening and then slidingly displaced so the bolt shaft is engaged in the narrower portion of the keyhole opening and the bolt head is secured behind the support. A safety cap is initially mounted on the bolt to cover the tool engagement surfaces of the bolt, and the cap is inserted in the opening together with the bolt. As the assembly is slidingly displaced relative to the support, the safety cap is pushed off the bolt to expose the tool engagement surfaces, by contact of stop surfaces of the safety cap with stop surfaces of the support. The safety cap thereby prevents engagement of a tightening tool with the bolt, until the bolt has surely reached its proper securing position.
