Groove Longitudinally Stepped Or Tapered Patents (Class 248/224.51)
  • Patent number: 6484997
Abstract: A terminal mounting track for supporting objects of more than one type has a base which is designed to attach the track to a support surface. A support member projects from the base and an elongated mounting rail is supported by the support member in a spaced apart relationship with the base. The rail has a pair of spaced apart elongated mounting flanges and a mid-portion which joins the flanges to the support member. The mid-portion includes a first wall segment and a second wall segment which are joined together so as to define a V-shaped groove which is configured to accept a sheet metal screw. Objects such as other dimensions of rails and electrical boxes may be mounted to the track using a sheet metal screw that engages the groove.

  • Patent number: 6481679
Abstract: A system is provided for mounting medical accessories on support structures that includes a female mounting component for mounting to a supportive structure and a male mounting component for mounting to a medical accessory. The female mounting component includes a receiver assembly comprising a base member and a pair of opposed channel members on the base member to form a receptive channel, which has upper and lower ends and a transverse dimension decreasing from the upper to lower ends. The female mounting component includes a first mounting structure attached to the receiver assembly. The male mounting component comprises an insertion member removably insertable into the receptive channel of the female mounting component at the upper end thereof. The insertion member has upper and lower ends and a transverse dimension that decreases from the upper to lower ends. The male mounting component includes a second mounting structure attached to the insertion member.

  • Patent number: 6371424
Abstract: A mounting for mounting an article onto a support comprising upper and lower mounting members. Seating surfaces provided between the members retain the members in assembled relationship with the members immovably registered together in a first plane. Three spaced mounting member registration projections provide, in the assembly, contact between the mounting members in three spaced and staggered positions on opposite sides of one of the mounting members, and registration to hold the members immovably together in a second plane. Spring-loaded locking is provided to hold the members together when assembled. Preferably the registration projections are provided on one member upon guide surfaces which are converging and inclined towards a respective seating surface. Guide surfaces on the other member are correspondingly converging and inclined.

  • Patent number: 6362952
Abstract: A mounting assembly for a plurality of panel board electrical buses which are disposed within a panel board housing, said mounting assembly which includes a mounting plate and a bus insulator assembly. The mounting plate has a front side, a back side and a plurality of bus insulator assembly pin openings therethrough. The mounting plate is sized to fit within said panel board housing. The mounting assembly further includes bus insulator assembly pin openings located within conical depressions on said mounting plate. The bus insulator assembly has mounting pins. When assembled, the bus insulator assembly mounting pins pass through the bus insulator assembly pin openings.

  • Patent number: 6357194
Abstract: The tapered dovetail joint is a method of joining two boards, or other rigid materials such as particleboard, wafer board, etc., by a unique type of modified dovetail joint. The modification to the classic dovetail joint includes tapering the dovetail pins as well as the dovetail tails with the same angle of taper in the same direction. The mating of this tapered dovetail joint will be greatly facilitated due to these corresponding tapers. The tapered nature of this joint minimizes difficulties in assembly due to the wedging action that takes place as the two boards are brought into union to create the joint. This wedging action allows the joint to be assembled even when there is moderate damage to the tails or pins including swelling—due to moisture, from the time of manufacture to time of assembly, impact damage, as well as minor manufacturing tolerance deficiencies in cutting of the pins and tails.

  • Patent number: 6309085
Abstract: A lamp support comprises a plurality of attachment ends affixed to a bottom surface of a base member to attach the base member of the lamp support to a stationary object, preferably, an emergency exit sign. A pair of stems, equipped with a pair of engaging members at one end, extend from an upper surface of the base members. The engaging members face each other at one end. The engaging members include a plurality of flexible teeth that interface with a plurality of rotational faces located in a pair of rotational apertures located in a housing. The housing is attached to the pair of stems by the engaging member, enabling the housing to rotate 360 degrees on an axis created by the stems.
