Clamped To Mounting Surface By Sliding Jaw Patents (Class 248/229.12)
  • Patent number: 11808404
Abstract: A clamping device having a pair of jaws that mounts on to an object and utilizes a fulcrum and leveraging mechanism to provide a combination of leveraged force and compression force to improve clamping and withstand vibration. This configuration provides enhanced gripping action at the open end of the jaws, which is especially advantageous when mounted near the edge of an object, such as a shelf. The clamping device can be low profile, compact and lightweight. The interior sides of the parallel jaws of the clamping device can be padded to prevent damage. This clamping device enables fastening to an accessory support for supporting the weight of items that extend beyond a center of gravity of the device. These items can include audio or video cables extending beyond shelves of on an audio equipment rack, or lighting and grip equipment, or can be used in any industry or endeavor.

  • Patent number: 7546993
Abstract: A clamping apparatus of the present invention is used in a medical environment to rotationally and releasably secure a device to a support member. The clamping apparatus includes a device clamp having first and second clamp elements and a connector interconnecting the clamp elements. The clamp elements define a first receptacle for receiving a support and a second receptacle for receiving a mounting structure. At least one clamping element defines a device catch in the second receptacle. The connector is selectively moveable between a first position in which relative rotation between the flexible shaft, device clamp and device is resisted, and a second position in which the device is permitted to rotate without releasing connection to the support. A method of supporting a medical device on a support to permit selective rotation of the medical device relative to a flexible shaft without loss of interconnection is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7303172
Abstract: A secure dish holder that easily and firmly attaches to tables and various other structures without relying on suction or adhesive. The secure dish holder is easily released by an adult, but securely holds a dish or another article so that it is not easily spilled or dislodged by a child, by wind, or by movement of the structure. The secure dish holder includes a top plate with a fastener for a dish on the topside. The top plate has slip-resistant padding on the underside that grips the surface to which the secure dish holder attaches. The secure dish holder includes a top plate with posts extending substantially perpendicularly from the underside of the top plate and a bottom plate with holes that slide snugly over the posts so the bottom plate slides along the posts. A compressible material is fixed to the topside of the bottom plate.

  • Patent number: 7191990
Abstract: An adjustable mounting bracket for secure mounting as by adhesive attachment onto an exposed edge of a substrate, wherein the mounting bracket is adapted for quick and easy subsequent mounting of a selected structure such as tubing, wire bundles, etc., relative to the substrate. The adjustable mounting bracket includes a pair of slidably interfitting, generally L-shaped bracket members which cooperatively define a slidably overlying pair of mounting plates and an associated pair of slidably separable clamp jaw plates. The slidably interfitting mounting plates accommodate adjustable spaced-apart separation of the clamp jaw plates to seat firmly against opposed surfaces of the substrate edge, such as mounting onto a rib protruding from the substrate or mounting onto an inner diameter edge of an opening formed in the substrate.

Abstract: A gun rest made of a high-strength, highly durable plastic, such as ABS, is attachable to a tree stand. First and second U-shaped members have a mechanical element to permit its attachment to a portion of the frame of the tree stand. In a first embodiment, the attachment element is a third member with a ratchet face that engages a ratchet on the rear face of the first and second U-shaped members along with an T-shaped clamping arm that is adjustably bolted to the U-shaped member. The T-shaped clamping arm can be used to clamp other elements to the frame of the tree stand, as well. In a second embodiment the attachment element is a dowel that is received in an open end of the tree stand frame. The portions of the U-shaped members that support the gun are jacketed with an elastomeric non-slip surface that is preferably made of rubber.
