Abstract: A fixing element is provided for fixing a household appliance to a part of the kitchen cabinetry, which is adjacent to the household appliance. The fixing element is configured as a fixation lug and is disposed between the household appliance and the part substantially at least over the total height of the part of the kitchen cabinetry. A compact fixing element is thus obtained, which permits a precise, stable, easy and economic fixation of the household appliance into an opening in the kitchen cabinetry. Another advantage of the lateral fixing element is the clean and pleasant aspect thereof. Moreover, a flexible use of only one type of fixing element is possible, due to the fact that the element can be used independently of the counter top material as well as in case of elevated mounting of the appliance or in the case of a cutout counter top.

  • Patent number: 6817583
Abstract: A mount assembly and method of installing a headliner and a visor in a vehicle having a mounting surface. Initially, a first bracket is attached to a headliner. A second bracket is attached to an arm of a visor. A retainer is preferably attached to the second bracket in a snap-fit engagement, and temporarily attaches the first bracket to the second bracket, thereby defining a modular headliner assembly. The headliner assembly is then positioned adjacent the mounting surface. The second bracket is then moved relative to the first bracket, preferably by rotating, such that the mounting surface is disposed between portions of the first and second brackets, thereby securing the headliner assembly to the mounting surface. The retainer then no longer functions to temporarily attach the first bracket to the second bracket. Preferably headliner assembly is assembled in a manufacturing facility and subsequently transported to a vehicle assembly facility for securing to the mounting surface.

Abstract: Devices for attaching to rock that have non-metal components and can be used for rock climbing. Embodiments include passive chocks, active camming devices, passive camming devices, and sliders. Lightweight materials used in place of more dense materials like steel result in lighter weight devices. Geometry of parts are changed to reduce weight, reduce manufacturing cost, and increase functionality. Higher friction materials against the rock allow greater expansion ranges, less stress in the rock, and increased holding power. Many embodiments have a head attached to a stem and a loop. Various embodiments feature nonmetallic tensile members, tubular plastic semi-rigid stems, polymer cams, hollow or non-metallic axles, biasing mechanisms, high-friction materials on one side or both, or combinations of these and other features.

  • Patent number: 6375139
Abstract: An anchoring device for use in a rock-crevice defined by a first rock wall and an opposing second rock wall. The anchoring device comprises an axle member having a longitudinal axis. A first cam is rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the axle member and contactable with the first rock wall with the first cam having a first side wall and a second side wall. A second cam is rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the axle member and contactable with the second rock wall with the second cam having a first side wall and a second side wall. The first side wall of the first cam is aligned with the first side wall of the second cam and the second side wall of the first cam is aligned with the second side wall of the second cam. Upon a first force being applied to the first cam by the first rock wall and a second force being applied to the second cam by the second rock wall in a direction generally toward the longitudinal axis, the axle member is free from any created moment.

Abstract: A method for attaching a window well to the outer surface of a window opening. The method includes providing a window well mold, and providing a window well clip for use with the mold, the clip having a first face and a second intersecting face. An opening is provided in the first face for receiving a bolt, with a sheath aligned with the opening. A support member is provided extending between the two faces to provide rigidity for the well clip. Means are provided for removably attaching the clip to the window mold, and the clip is attached to the mold to form a mold-clip assembly. The assembly is next set in fresh concrete with the first face flush with the outer surface of the window opening. After the concrete is hardened, the mold is removed, leaving the clip embedded in the concrete. A bolt is then provided and inserted into the first face opening, attaching the bolt to the window well, and tightening the bolt into the sheath.
