  • Patent number: 4015543
Abstract: A platform support structure includes a platform having an upper support surface and a lower surface. A slot extends into the lower platform surface and an elongated support bracket includes a portion which is integral with the platform within the slot so that the sides of the slot cooperate with a portion of the sides of the bracket to provide lateral support for the platform.A raised wall member extends outwardly and annularly from the upper surface of the platform to provide a continuous moment sufficiently distal from the slot to overcome anticipated breaking moments at the slot.

  • Patent number: 4013254
Abstract: A locking mechanism for locking a backless wall mounted cabinet or the like to a wall panel or partition having a pair of spaced slotted standards thereon adapted to receive a plurality of equidistantly spaced linearly aligned hook-shaped tabs on the rearward edges of the cabinet side walls. The locking mechanism includes a locking tab having a pair of spaced detents thereon, which locking tab is slidable from a first position adapted to enter the slots in the slotted standard with the hook-shaped tabs to a second position which locks the hook-shaped tabs into the slotted standard. A spring-urged locking pin is constructed and arranged to retain the locking tab in its second position.

  • Patent number: 4013253
Abstract: This invention provides a bracket supporting arrangement in which an elongated member has sets of opposed tabs projecting from a flat surface, the upper tab in each set including a rib and a bendable end portion, the member being adapted to support a bracket having a normally vertical portion with upper and lower edges, and an opening intermediate the edges, with side flanges adapted to overlap the side flanges of the channel in providing stability to the bracket.

  • Patent number: 3990665
Abstract: A shelf supporting apparatus comprising vertical cables extending between upper and lower anchoring members, attachment members being connected to the cables for receiving and supporting shelves and each cable being associated with a tensioning spring. Each lower anchoring member comprises two sockets housing a piston and the tensioning spring, the piston having an axial bore through which the cable extends. The upper anchoring member comprises a pair of screw engaging sockets housing a stop member to which the upper end of the cable is secured. Each attachment member is of unitary construction and has a slot for engaging the cable with screw holes at each end of the slot into which cable gripping screws can be engaged. The bulk of the anchoring members is reduced to a minimum.

  • Patent number: 3983822
Abstract: In a shelving system having both vertical and oblique supports for removable shelves, identical shelves are interchangeably usable on either support by reason of the fact that mounting slots on the oblique support are farther apart than the mounting slots on the vertical support. The tabs on the shelves cooperate with these slots in two different ways, depending on the slot spacing, thereby automatically insuring the proper shelf orientation, irrespective of the support.

  • Patent number: 3965826
Abstract: A wall mounted metal shelf assembly utilizing parallel spaced upright wall mounted channel brackets having spaced slotted openings for connective reception of projecting tongue portions of cantilever off-wall brackets and metal shelf members overcovering and undersupported by the cantilever brackets; the openings in the wall brackets being formed to include detent portions engageable with the tongue portions of the cantilever brackets to effectively lock the same against lateral shifting in their mounted condition and the shelf members having portions which cooperatively interlock with the cantilever brackets and resiliently engage the wall brackets to positively stabilize the assembly.

  • Patent number: 3966158
Abstract: A support bracket locking mechanism for locking a cantilever support bracket which is adapted to be mounted on a slotted standard through a plurality of aligned hook connectors. The locking mechanism includes a flexible and slidable locking member having a locking tab and an actuating tab thereon. The locking tab is interposed into the series of aligned hook connectors in a position between and equidistantly spaced from two adjacent hook connectors and is movable to a position nearer one of the two adjacent hook connectors to lock the hook connectors into the slotted standard in response to movement of the actuating tab to a locked position.

  • Patent number: 3936024
Abstract: A carrying structure for supporting, for example, cable ducts, comprises vertical bearers from which project disengagable, horizontal bearer arms. Each bearer arm has at least two hooks adjacent one end thereof, which hooks, when inserted into corresponding holes of a vertical row of holes formed in a vertical bearer, engage the bearer arm with the vertical bearer. The hooks of an arm are integral therewith and project laterally of the arm surface which is in face to face relation with the hole-defining surface of the vertical bearer when the arm is engaged with the bearer. Each hook has on one of its side edges a lateral support surface above the vertical portion of the hook which engages the vertical bearer on its side opposite to the main body of the bearer arm. This support surface engages a vertical side of the hole in which the hook is inserted enabling the transmission between the bearer arm and vertical bearer of horizontal moments.
