  • Patent number: 5692346
Abstract: An improved retainer element has a mounting section which is connected with a rim portion of a panel. A longitudinally extending main spring section of the retainer element extends from the mounting section. A retainer section of the retainer element is connected with an end of the main spring section opposite from the mounting section. The retainer section includes a retainer flange and a pair of retainer arms which engage opposite sides of the rim portion of the panel. When the panel is moved into position relative to the support frame, a cam surface on the retainer flange engages the support frame and transmits force to deflect the main spring section of the retainer element. The retainer flange then snaps into engagement with the support frame. The retainer arms slide along opposite side surfaces of the rim portion of the panel to guide movement of the main spring section relative to the panel.

  • Patent number: 5598678
Abstract: Devices for ceilings in which tiles are supported by a concealed suspension grid include channels and channel hangers that establish the ceiling level and support the suspension grid and, together with wall supports form the suspension grid. Each channel, in cross-section, is substantially "U" shaped and has a retaining tab portion positioned at one end of one of its legs that is oriented at right angles to that leg in the direction of the other leg. The tabbed leg may be shorter than the untabbed leg which may be substantially the same height as the depth of the edge grooves in the ceiling tiles. Each hanger is adapted for affixation to a support structure at one end, and has a channel-receiving aperture at its other end whose height when said hanger is vertically oriented is greater than the height of the retaining tab portion of the channels, and has a vertical slot in its floor that is deeper than the height of the retaining tab.

  • Patent number: 5067621
Abstract: A garment holder especially suited for neckties, scarves, belts, etc., that loads or unload garments at a convenient height and stores the garments near the ceiling. The main garment hanging area utilizes a coil, wherein a torsion bar stabilizes and strengthens the coil by connecting the coil and torsion bar at said coil top and bottom. The tail stabilizer located at the bottom of the torsion bar provides a secondary hanging area and helps level and stabilize the garment holder. Multi-level action is attained because the hanging eye is connected to a ceiling mounted pulley by a rope which uses two handles to control the load and unload positions whereby a downward pull causes the ring hitches to a wing nut to separate allowing the rope to lower the garment holder until stopped by a washer resting against the pulley. Storage at ceiling level is attained from this position by pulling on the handles until the ring reengages the wing nut hitch.
