Abstract: Disclosed is a modular barrier system to protect a machine user from injury, the barrier structure having a plurality of modular units that can be manipulated individually to provide variable configurations of the barrier structure, that can be used with different pieces of machinery or for different applications, without removal or changing of the barrier structure in its entirety. The modular units comprise a slide unit and a latch mechanism to lock each individual modular unit in place, by way of ratcheting teeth. The barrier system may be positioned on a rail system that provides for lateral movement of the modular units while maintaining its attachment to the rail by a rail lock mechanism on the modular unit.
Abstract: A height-adjustment device for a ceiling-mounted exhaust hood includes a guide bar, a detent pawl and a snapping disposed on the detent pawl. The guide bar includes a plurality of notches and is disposed on a first part of the exhaust hood. The detent pawl is disposed on a second part of the exhaust hood. The first and second parts of the exhaust hood are movable relative to one another. The detent pawl, when moved along a longitudinal axis of the guide bar in a first direction is automatically movable from an unlocked position to a locked position by an interaction of the snapping device with a first actuating device. The detent pawl, when moved in a second direction along the longitudinal axis, is automatically movable from the locked position to the unlocked position by an interaction of the snapping device with a second actuating device.

Abstract: A slip-ring device includes a cable, a stop-sleeve, a cable coupler, and a slip-ring. Preferably, the stop-sleeve is coupled to the cable. The cable coupler includes a hollow portion that can pass the cable and a surface having an opening sized to restrict an axial movement of the stop-sleeve. A slip-ring is coupled to the outer circumference of the hollow portion. A method of mounting a fixture to an enclosure includes inserting a portion of the cable through the cable coupler; coupling the cable coupler to the enclosure; positioning a canopy over the stem of the cable coupler; and fastening the canopy to the enclosure by threading the slip-ring to the cable coupler.
Abstract: An adjustable support device for appliances being comprised of a housing with top and bottom aligned openings therethrough and which is attached to a support member by a clamp mechanism. An elongated support member or tubing which is provided with a plurality of aligned openings one side thereof passing through the opening of the housing and is in contact within the housing with a pair of upper opposed rollers and a lower roller being in contact with only one side of the member. A locking mechanism is pivotally mounted within the housing and is co-operable with the openings in the elongated support member and is provided with a guide device, such as a roller, which extends outward therefrom and is in contact with the support member.
