Abstract: The rotating mailbox device is provided in varying degrees of complexity, with each embodiment thereof focused on as basic a design as is possible while still retaining the important features of the device. Even the most basic design provides illuminated address, illumination strips within the mailbox assembly, and exterior indicators for indicating mail received via sensing of door opening. Of importance is that the basic design of the device dictates that the dished tray is rotateably affixed directly atop the post and may also be affixed off-center regarding the tray. The direct post-to-tray attachment negates the need for further attachment devices such as horizontal arms, for example. Lateral attachment of the mailbox assembly to the platform elevated section provides for easiest disassembly of part of the device and also for the elevated section to be a floor for the mailbox assembly.

The stand includes a wide, low profile base designed to fit under a living room chair commonly found in a home. Attached perpendicularly to the base is a vertically aligned, fixed pole. Attached to the upper end of the fixed pole is an adjustable, L-shaped extension pole designed to be selectively raised or lowered on the fixed pole, rotate, and then lock in a desired position. Attached to the upper end of the extension pole is a length-adjustable, rotating extension arm. The stand also includes a planar support member used to support a keyboard or laptop computer. Attached to the bottom surface of the support member is a locking universal joint, which, during assembly, is connected to the distal end of the extension arm. The universal joint enables the support member to tilt and rotate as desired.

  • Patent number: 6279864
Abstract: A seat assembly featuring a seat support assembly having a seat mount assembly and a pedestal post assembly which pivotally supports the seat mount assembly and includes a first component and a second component with the second component being adjustable in height with respect to the first component. The seat support assembly includes a rotation locking assembly with a releasable rotation lock which locks the seat mount assembly from rotating with respect to the pedestal post assembly. Also included is a rotation prevention device or arrangement that is supported by the pedestal post assembly and acts to prevent relative rotation between the first and second components while not interfering with height adjustability between the first and second components. In a preferred embodiment, the first and second components are part of a fluid spring system which has an air spring that varies in height by way of a fluid cushion.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) device includes a display portion supported to a stand by a hinge having a wide swivel angle through swivel rotation means formed in the hinge and stand. The swivel rotation means includes a hinge body connected to the display portion for tilt and having a guide with a rotation guide surface and swivel projections; a swivel bracket fixed to a stand body so that the hinge body does not escape from the stand, the bracket having a stop which arrests the swivel projections; and the stand body having a plurality of bosses functioning as screw bosses for fixing the swivel brackets and at the same time as axial boss which rotates the hinge body. The swivel rotation means' swivel angle is set when the swivel projections formed on the hinge body are arrested by the stop formed on the swivel bracket.

Abstract: A device for manipulating a workpiece in space includes a fixture, a stanchion assembly, a manipulation mechanism, an actuation mechanism, and a reaction mechanism. The fixture has an end onto which the workpiece affixes. The stanchion assembly has an upper and a lower end. The manipulation mechanism connects the fixture and the upper end of the stanchion assembly. The lower end of the stanchion assembly mounts, via probe and a socket, to a structure. The actuation mechanism operably connects to the manipulation mechanism, and moves the fixture in space. The reaction mechanism provides a point through which force inputs into the actuation mechanism may react.

  • Patent number: 5890691
Abstract: A Bicycle Seat Support (14) includes a rotationally-biased centering mechanism (20) for coupling a seat mount (16) to a frame mount (18). The rotationally-biased centering mechanism has a biasing mechanism for causing the seat mount and an attached bicycle seat to rotate toward a normal angular position about a seat axis (36) while allowing the bicycle seat to be forced away from this normal angular position by pressure applied by a rider when pedaling the bicycle. The rotationally-biased centering mechanism includes bearing surfaces (48,50) having an interface which allows the seat mount and the frame mount to rotate while not allowing substantial axial movement. Stops are included for preventing excessive angular seat movement.
