  • Patent number: 6113051
Abstract: The slide includes a fixed section and a movable section sliding in the fixed section. An edge of the fixed section, equipped with a row of notches, is located in the direct vicinity of a sidewall of the movable section. A lock, movable crosswise to the sliding direction, is equipped with teeth guided in the cutouts made in the wall and mating with the notches to lock the slide. The wall includes a stop, such as a folded portion, located opposite the edge. The dimensions and the material of the teeth are determined so that when a sliding force exceeding a predetermined value is applied, the teeth deform by deflecting parallel to the folded portion and their ends are then located opposite the folded portion preventing the lock from unlocking.

Abstract: A slide includes two sections sliding in relation to each other, and a locking device, attached to the first section, which includes at least two elastically flexible blades. Each bade includes, at one end, teeth adapted to mate in a locking position, with notches made in the second section. The slide includes an unlocking device adapted to act simultaneously on the blades by elastically deflecting them, so that the teeth of all the blades are disengaged from the notches. By offsetting the locking teeth on one blade in relation to the other by a distance equal to K*p+p/n (K: whole number; p: notch pitch; n: number of blades), a reduced locking pitch equal to p/n is obtained. The invention is especially useful for adjusting the position of automobile vehicle seats.

Abstract: In order to neatly locate an electric drive mechanism under a seat, a unique measure is applied to a power seat slide device. An upper rail has an upper vertical flange through which the seat is secured to the upper rail. The vertical upper flange has a part mounting portion which extends forward beyond a front end of the upper rail. A recess is formed in the part mounting portion, which faces downward. A speed reduction gear box is neatly received in the recess and secured to the part mounting portion through a locking pin. An electric motor has one end secured to the gear box and the other end projected in a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the upper rail runs. A screw shaft extends from the gear box and extends in and along the upper rail. A nut member is secured to the lower rail and operatively engaged with the screw shaft.
