Vertically Adjustable Supporting Ledge Patents (Class 248/449)
  • Patent number: 11813637
Abstract: A painting support assembly includes a tripod and a mounting block that is coupled to the tripod. The mounting block has a pair of channels integrated into the mounting block. A pair of extension blocks is provided and each of the extension blocks has an engagement which slidably engages a respective one of the channels in the mounting block. In this way the overall width of the mounting block is increased to support a small panel in a horizontal position for painting. A plate is positionable on top of the extension blocks and the mounting block and plate includes grips which engage the extension blocks. The plate supports a large panel in a horizontal position to facilitate painting the large panel.

  • Patent number: 5624097
Abstract: A sheet-supporting stand or easel includes two or more legs, at least one of which is adjustable in length, so as to vary the angle of the stand relative to the ground. A U-shaped mast provides a carriage area for holding one or more sheets, and a pair of clamping devices, mounted to the mast, clamp the sheets from opposite sides. The legs can be collapsed and pivoted around their mounting to the mast, such that the entire assembly can be transported in a generally flat and compact configuration. A wheel may be attached to one or more of the legs, to facilitate movement of the stand along the ground. The wheel may be pivoted and held at any desired angle relative to the leg, such that the wheel may be kept away from the ground while the stand is in use.

  • Patent number: 5205526
Abstract: A collapsible display easel is provided which can be easily extended into a sturdy, erect easel for holding display material, and easily retracted and folded into a compact configuration for transport. The display easel includes a two-legged supporting stand, a vertical brace, and one or more crossbar members. The display material is held against the vertical brace between the crossbar members. The legs are provided with extending support feet for securely supporting the easel in an upright position. The various components are connected by sliding or pivoting attachment mechanisms which allow the components to be easily extended or retracted. The sliding and pivoting connection mechanisms are manually operable and do not require the use of any tools or special equipment. The display easel is retracted into a compact configuration solely by pivoting or sliding the various components with respect to each other, and does not require the disassembly of any of the components.

  • Patent number: 5005795
Abstract: An easel having a pair of segmented front legs and a segmented rear leg member with the legs and segments slidably joined by dovetails and dovetail grooves for varying easel height. The front leg segments, in addition to being extensible, are pivotally joined to the main members of the legs to permit angular positioning of the front leg segments to the vertical to serve as the front legs of the drafting table configuration. In this configuration, the upper ends of the main members are positioned downwardly along the rear leg member to provide a sloping, workpiece supporting surface in the nature of a drafting board. A detachable cross member serves to brace the vertical front leg segments against swaying while a brace assembly braces the connection between the main leg members and the rear leg member.

  • Patent number: 4955576
Abstract: A portable writing board mountable for use on a steering wheel of a vehicle and also entirely stable for writing use when rested upon any flat surface. The board has a platform member which has substantially parallel side edges, a lower edge, and a curved upper edge approximating the curvature of the outer diameter of a vehicle steering wheel. A retaining collar depends from the curved upper edge and is unified thereto. The retaining collar consists essentially of a depending skirt portion and a flange-like portion directed radially inwardly from the skirt portion to thereby form a recess capable of accommodating the rim of a vehicle steering wheel. The most depending portions of the retaining collar form a bottom surface which extends continuously along the entire curvature of the retaining collar, and lies in an imaginary plane intersecting the platform at an axis line perpendicular to the side edges of the platform and located at the lowermost bottom edge of the platform.

  • Patent number: 4793083
Abstract: A sign panel holding system of the type used by real estate agents or the like, comprising a normally upright post and two holding members securable to a post at virtually any point of the overall length thereof. The holders are each provided with at least one but preferably two parallel transverse members defining a pair of parallel slots. The lower holder has the slots turned upwardly to engage lowermost edges of a pair of normally generally rectangular panels. The upper holder is positioned upside down and is slideably adjusted along the post to grip the top edges of the panel to thus secure the panels fixedly to the associated post. The advance in the art is particularly in structural simplicity of the device and in its versatile use with panels of different size. The invention also allows the placement of the panels at selectively different levels of the post.
