Patent number: 10875740Abstract: The wall-mounted retractable holster comprises a holster, a tether, and a retractor. The retractor may retrieve a retrievable object that is coupled to the tether so that the retrievable object may be stored in the holster. As non-limiting examples, the retrievable object may be a remote control or a cell phone. The end of the tether may attach to the retrievable object via a device attachment located at one end of a tether cord. The other end of the tether cord may be wrapped around a spool within the retractor. A pawl and ratchet may allow the tether cord to be pulled out of the retractor but may prevent the cord from being pulled into the retractor unless a retract button on the retractor is activated. The spool may be spring loaded so that the cord is pulled in automatically when the retractor button is activated.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2019Date of Patent: December 29, 2020Inventors: Kevin Santaite, Victor Mariotti

Patent number: 8517321Abstract: A gravity compensation apparatus is provided, including a force output device, an axis and an arm with the axis as rotational center. The present invention is to output a force via the force output device to the arm when the arm contacts the force output device. When the arm rotates in the first or second quadrants, the contact point between the arm and the force output device will change continuously so that the force rotation speed of the force output device, the effective length of the lever arm and the force-applying angle will also change accordingly. Through appropriate design, the generated torque value can show a non-linearly increasing curve approximately to a sin function between 0-90°.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2010Date of Patent: August 27, 2013Inventor: Po-Sen Hsiao

Patent number: 6419413Abstract: A writing instrument is attached to a cord that is itself retractable into a housing. The housing includes a spool connected to a spring. The retractable cord is connected to the spool, and the spool is adapted to wind the cord around it as a result of the spring being biased to turn the spool so the cord is wound around it. A mount connects the housing to a surface. The housing may have written indicia displaying on it. Further, the mount can be rotatably connected to the housing.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2001Date of Patent: July 16, 2002Assignee: Thomson-Leeds Company, Inc.Inventors: Maria Moliner Oliver, Douglas B. Patent number: 6293512Abstract: A collapsible support frame is formed of an inner tube, an outer tube, and a plurality of support legs. The support legs are fastened to the inner tube and the outer tube. The inner tube is rotatably fitted into the outer tube. The folding and the unfolding of the support legs are attained by turning the inner tube an angle. The inner tube has a hollow interior for holding a Christmas tree, a flag pole, and the like.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2000Date of Patent: September 25, 2001Inventor: Ching-Mo Ho

Patent number: 6256961Abstract: A base cover for a utility pole comprises a first base member and a second base member secured to one another to form a base unit to fit round the utility pole. The base unit has an opening at its upper end, the opening adapted to fit closely around the utility pole. A resilient gasket is formed adjacent the opening and is adapted to engage the pole and resist forced movement of the base unit up the pole. The gasket consists of two gasket members, one secured to each base member. The gasket member is a ring with a trunco-conical inner opening. The opening is narrowest at the top. The shape of the gasket allows sliding of the base unit down the utility pole, but resists sliding up the pole. The base unit is assembled at a convenient position along the pole, and slid down to its in-use position at ground level. The gasket prevents it from being lifted out of position without dismantling the two base members.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 1999Date of Patent: July 10, 2001Inventor: Dennis S. Byrnes

Patent number: 5580021Abstract: A suspension mechanism for a manually manipulated power tool which, upon actuation of the power tool momentarily relieves the tension supporting the power tool and enables the power tool's weight to be utilized to augment the axial force required to perform work such as screwdriving, drilling and grinding. A sensor mechanism which is part of the invention may also be used to obtain similar benefits from prior art suspension mechanisms.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 1995Date of Patent: December 3, 1996Inventor: David D. Patent number: 5037059Abstract: An X-ray diagnostic device with a suspension mechanism for suspending an object in a vertically movable manner, using two suspension wires, which can avoid the shortened durability of the suspension wires, and using windup type springs, which can eliminate possibility for the fall of the suspended object due to the breaking of the windup type springs. The suspension mechanism may includes two suspension wires for holding the suspended object; and single threaded corn pulleys, one for each one of the two suspension wires, for winding the respective suspension wires. The suspension mechanism may also includes a plurality of windup type springs for balancing against gravitational force acting on the suspended object; connection between the plurality of windup type springs such that this connection moves when the plurality of windup type springs are put to be not balanced with respect to each other; and mechanism for preventing the fall of the suspended object by detecting motion of the connection.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 1989Date of Patent: August 6, 1991Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha ToshibaInventors: Kiyoshi Asano, Kiyoaki Inoue, Shunichiro Nishigaki
