Plural Angular Patents (Class 248/921)
  • Patent number: 6942489
Abstract: A dockable connection assembly attached to the ceiling of a motor vehicle so that passengers can enjoy watching a display monitor at desired and comfortable angles while still being able to access the electrical components of the display screen and its counterparts in video technology. This structure allows for the screen to move at all angles, whether it be up, down, clockwise, or counterclockwise. The structure also has a safety feature that will allow for disengagement in case of emergency situations. This dockable connection assembly comprises a retainer assembly, a connector assembly, and a harness assembly. The retainer assembly provides the support for the entirety of the dockable connection assembly by holding the connector assembly and the display monitor onto the ceiling. The connector assembly provides for the electric connection a point of contact and allows for the rotation of the display monitor.

  • Publication number: 20040155167
Abstract: A pendulum mount supports a display screen for a dental patient. This pendulum mount includes a ceiling mount that mechanically couples to the ceiling. The ceiling mount allows rotation relative to the ceiling while internally routing cables for power, video, audio or other feeds to the display. A support arm mechanically couples to the ceiling mounts with a first joint. The cables exit the conduit at the first joint and enter the support arm. Then the cables run within the support arm to a second joint. Tension between the support arm and the ceiling mount counterbalances the moment of the display. A mounting assembly mechanically couples to the support arm via a second joint at the far end of the support arm to support the display for the dental patient. As with the first joint, cables exit the support arm and may directly couple to the display screen.

Abstract: An LCD monitor includes a stand in which cable plugs are inserted through a recess in a bracket so as to be connected to connectors in the interior of the stand. In this way, the plugs are concealed from view, and are protected from tampering or damage. Moreover, during rotation or tilting of the monitor by the user, the plugs and their cables do not interfere with such rotation or tiling of the monitor by impact with any surface located behind the monitor. A printed circuit board (PCB) is supported on surface inside the stand, and the bracket is mounted on the outer frame of the stand and comprises a lower fitting panel, a top panel and side panels extending from the outer frame.

Abstract: A support arm system with a wall connector element, horizontal and vertical support arms, angle brackets and joint elements, and a free end on which a control device is attached with an articulated joint, so that the free end is rotatably limited and can be fixed in place. Vibrations in the wall on which the support arm system is fastened can be isolated from the control device in a simple manner because a housing, which has two housing elements, is connected with the articulated joint element of the articulated joint facing the control device, and because a connecting element is housed, elastically supported horizontally and vertically by cushioning elements, in the housing, and the connecting element is connected with the control device.

  • Patent number: 6061104
Abstract: A display assembly that includes a flat panel display and a display stand. A hinge that attaches to the housing of the display provides for tilt adjustment. The display stand includes two rails that attach to a base and a sliding frame that is coupled to the hinge. The two rails support the sliding frame such that the sliding frame can move up and down along the two rails. A rotary dampener dampens downward movement of the sliding frame. The display stand also includes a latching mechanism that selectively latches the sliding frame to one of the rails. The latching mechanism includes a handle that can be manually operated so as to selectively engage and disengage the latching mechanism. Movement of the handle of the latching mechanism releases the latching mechanism. The display can then be moved up or down as desired to accommodate the needs of a particular user. Once the display is positioned as desired, the release of the handle operates to engage the latching mechanism.
