    Abstract: A method for producing a concrete tube for a hyperloop passenger transport system. The concrete tube is concreted in situ by means of a formwork device. The formwork device has a formwork carriage which moves forwards during concreting. The formwork carriage has an inner form and an outer form for shuttering the concrete tube. An interspace between the inner form and outer form is filled, in particular continuously, with concrete. The solidified concrete tube can be supported on pillars via bearings. The freshly solidified portion of the concrete tube is preferably supported on the inside by inner rollers and on the outside by outer rollers. In order to support the formwork carriage on the pillars, the formwork device can have supporting rollers. The formwork device for implementing the method and to the concrete tube produced by the method for the hyperloop passenger transport system.

The scraper engages the concrete to selectively spread the concrete on the metal pipe invert and repair the invert.

    Abstract: A method and mold assembly for forming concrete or another moldable composition. A plurality of elongate elements, such as PVC pipes, are stacked in rows in gravity-stable arrangement to form a contour, such as an arch. The radius of the arch may be controlled by arranging the pipes as desired. Particulate matter, such as sand, may be used between the stacked pipes. Also, an anchor assembly can be used to secure one or more of the pipes to the earth. After the pipes are stacked and a bed of sand has been placed thereon, a waterproof cover is laid over the top of the stack, and layer of concrete is spread. After the concrete is set, the pipes, the cover and the anchor assemblies are removed. The removal will be expedited by washing the sand from the stack. Once removed, the pipes and anchors can be reused indefinitely.

    Abstract: A method for cutting first and second complementary foamed plastic bodies of a predetermined shape from a single workpiece includes the step of moving a linear cutting element through the workpiece. The linear cutting element, such as a heated wire, is moved through the workpiece to form a first surface which forms a portion of the predetermined shape of the first and second foamed plastic bodies. The workpiece is thereafter shifted in position relative to the linear cutting element and the linear cutting element is again moved through the shifted workpiece to form a second surface. Due to the shifting of the workpiece, the first surface is sloped relative to the second surface. The first and second foamed plastic bodies are preferably first and second trench forms defining the shapes of different sections of a trench drain which has a continuously sloped bottom surface.

The separating means comprises a plurality of pairs of elongated members disposed along the trench such that the rear surface of each elongated member is in contact with one wall of the trench and the underside surface of each member is in contact with the bottom of the trench. The elongated members are in opposed relationship to each other. The length of the lower portion of each elongated member is less than one-half the width of the bottom of the trench so that a gap is formed between the distal edges of the lower portions to position therein a means for detecting a leak in the primary liner.

    Abstract: A mold for casting an inverted base section of a manhole includes a core for forming an inner surface of the base section, and a jacket surrounding the core for forming an outer surface of the base section. A domed plate atop the core but below an upper edge of the jacket, and having a peripheral shape corresponding to that of the core, seals off the interior of the core and produces the floor shape of the base section. A trough former is placed between opposite interior sides of the jacket and above the domed plate. The flanges of the trough former are cut along arcs conforming to the shape of the domed plate so that cementitious material poured into the mold does not leak between the domed plate and the trough former. Hole formers are similarly seated atop the trough former.

Screw assemblies are mounted in brackets located at the ends of the walers but on the sides facing away from the sheets, and are operable to push or pull the walers out of alignment so that they can be pulled or pushed into a ring shape and, in so doing, bend the sheets into generally cylindrical shapes. When the sheets are raised on end, with the beams disposed vertically they provide the inside and outside wall forms for receiving concrete, for example, poured between them to form an annular cylindrical wall for a tank or the like.

    Abstract: A formwork for a draft tube which includes ganged precast forms, each precast form corresponding to a curved segment of the draft tube. The precast forms are molded with continuous side plates extending thereabout and anchored in the precast concrete form and projecting beyond the surface opposite to the contact surface to provide a flange. A fastening means for attaching adjacent forms with a space therebetween to allow for stripping. A method includes determining the outline of the inner surface of the draft tube and dividing it into segments and preparing molds to make precast forms corresponding to each segment. The precast forms are assembled and shored to provide the draft tube ganged formwork, and concrete is poured about the draft tube formwork and is cured. The precast forms are stripped from the set concrete structure and reused in another draft tube formwork.
