Fence Post Patents (Class 249/143)
  • Patent number: 9808958
Abstract: A post molding system includes a box. Concrete is poured into the box such that the concrete is formed in the shape of the box. A cage is provided and the cage is positioned in the box. The cage reinforces the concrete when the concrete dries in the box. A pair of molds is provided. Each of the molds is positioned on the box when the concrete is poured into the box. Thus, each of the molds forms an aperture extending through the concrete.

Abstract: A concrete structure kit comprising a dry powdered concrete mixture contained within a shaped container or packaging is provided. In use, the packaged dry concrete mixture is placed in a desired location, water is added to the dry mixture in an appropriate amount, and the concrete is allowed to set in the shape of the container. After the concrete has hardened, the container may be removed from the outside of the concrete structure and discarded. In a second embodiment, a modular concrete mold system is provided, which includes a series of interlocking pieces having various shapes, such as straight sides, curved sides, corners, acute and obtuse angles, and the like. This arrangement allows a user to form a concrete mold into a variety of different shapes, as desired.

  • Patent number: 5851564
Abstract: An apparatus for making a lightweight, thin wall, seamless, hollow structural profile using a simple mold. The apparatus includes a base for supporting a mandril and a two piece outer form which bolts together assembled. A mixture is poured or injected into the space between the mandril and the form to produce a profile upon hardening of the mixture of either cement, fiberglass or polymers. The hollow area of the structural profile may be filled with various materials. The base comprises a plurality of upwardly rising columns or blocks and posts around the inside perimeter of the mandril and blocks around the outside perimeter of the form for proper positioning of the mandril and the form, which are separated by a predetermined distance in accordance with the desired features and dimensions of the structural profile.

  • Patent number: 5580480
Abstract: A form for making a concrete fence post supported by the ground is disclosed. The form has two elongated halves which are hinged together and clamped along one edge. The form is supported over a post hole and concrete is poured into the form. Reinforcing bars or mesh is inserted in the wet concrete and the concrete is permitted to set. The form is then opened and removed resulting in a reinforced concrete fence post. The process of using the form is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5169585
Abstract: A method and device for fabricating posts made of concrete having a polygonal cross-section includes the steps of providing and opening an integral liner, applying backing panels to the liner, holding the panels together with a hooping means, and pouring and hardening concrete in the integral liner. The liner is collapsible and preformed to open in the shape of a right prism with an internal section identical to that of the post to be manufactured. Backing panels made of cardboard or plastic material support the external faces of the liner and entirely cover the external faces of the liner. At least one of the backing panels is adhered to an external face of the liner. A hooping means holds the liner and the backing panels assembled in mutual contact during the use of the device.

  • Patent number: 4624439
Abstract: A base is provided including first, second and third adjoining marginal portions and a first stationary upstanding wall is fixedly secured to and projects upwardly from one of the marginal portions. Second and third upstanding walls are provided and pivotally supported along upstanding base edge marginal portions thereof from remote upstanding marginal edge portions of the stationary wall for swinging movement of the remote free upstanding marginal edges of the second and third walls toward and away from closely juxtaposed positions defining a peripherally enclosed upstanding mold cavity above the base between the first, second and third upstanding walls. The lower edges of the second and third walls are disposed in reasonably good sealed relation with the second and third marginal portions of the base. The base defines an upwardly opening socket centrally disposed relative to the cavity and an upstanding reinforcing member is provided and has its lower end received in the socket.

  • Patent number: 4496511
Abstract: A method of molding stone-faced pillars comprising attaching stone pieces onto a wooden base, covering the surface of said base, not covered by the stone pieces, with Plaster-of-Paris, spraying numerous coatings of latex rubber on the entire base and stone pieces of the pillar and spraying numerous coatings of liquid base fiberglass on said coatings, peeling off said coatings, and laying them in right angular relationship in a right angular mold and finally pouring wet cement onto the stone-faced portions to reproduce the stone faced pillar model.

  • Patent number: 4178338
Abstract: In a method of casting in a horizontal mould a hollow, reinforced tapering concrete post having a thin wall and particularly a length exceeding 10 to 15 m, there is placed in the mould a tapering reinforcing cage or basket in which a core, e.g. a steel core, is inserted to form a substantially annular mould chamber. Said mould chamber is closed with the exception of an upper filling slot. A readily pourable concrete mass is charged to the mould from above through said filling slot. The mould is then vibrated without being rotated such that concrete fills the annular mould chamber. Hardening of the concrete is accelerated by heating, and the core is withdrawn from the formed post before the concrete has completely hardened. The finished post is then removed from the mould.
