Hinged Sections Patents (Class 249/170)
  • Patent number: 4683028
Abstract: In the continuous vacuum forming of articles from a fibrous slurry, e.g. from paper pulp, a plurality of two-piece hinged moulds are mounted on a transport apparatus 1 which transports the moulds stepwise in a loop. The internal surfaces of the moulds are defined by wire gauze of mesh 107,109 and the moulds are connected to a source of suction. The moulds, with the suction applied, are moved through the fibrous slurry contained in a tank 43, whereupon fibres are deposited on the mesh 107,109, much of the water being drawn off by the suction. The mould passes through a drying station, where warm air is sucked through the mould, further drying the article. The transport apparatus 1 is movable pivotably about an axis 6 by means of a fluid-operated ram 25. At the top of the path, the mould and the article therein are lowered onto a pin 61, a plurality of which are situated on an endless conveyor 59.

  • Patent number: 4644858
Abstract: A dual-purpose baking pan assembly suitable for use in a conventional oven wherein the assembly as well as the food therein are exposed to a high-temperature atmosphere, and in a microwave oven wherein the atmosphere is close to ambient temperature and the assembly and the food are subjected to microwave energy. All components of the assembly are formed of a dielectric material unaffected by microwave energy and capable of withstanding high temperatures. The assembly is constituted by a circular base which fits into an annular groove formed in a cylindrical shell defined by a pair of complementary half-sections whose rear ends are hinged together by a removable pivot pin and whose front ends are joinable by a detachable clamp. Thus, after a food product is baked in the assembly, the shell thereof may be detached from the base to expose the food product without disrupting its structure.

  • Patent number: 4624440
Abstract: An adjustable formwork for forming the corner surfaces of concrete structural members includes a first and a second formwork unit. Each formwork unit extends transversely of the other and has a surface which forms one of the concrete surfaces of the concrete structural members and these surfaces define a corner junction line about which the formwork units can be pivotally adjusted relative to one another. One of the formwork units is provided with a circular-arc shaped guide slot and the other has a pair of spaced guide pins secured to it with the pins being movably guided in the slot. The center point of the arc of the slot is located on the corner junction line. The interengagement of the pins with the slot affords a link type guidance between the formwork units. As a result, forces are transmitted at the corner junction line only in the assembly state so that the line lies practically in the plane of the formwork surface which define the concrete surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4520990
Abstract: A device which serves to temporarily and releasably connect two neighboring panels of a concrete form has two sections which are coupled to each other by a pivot pin, and two parallel projections each of which is carried by a discrete section. One of the projections is rigidly attached to the respective section, and the other projection is rotatable relative to its section and can be locked to the flange of one of the panels after passing through a keyhole-shaped opening of such flange. The other projection then extends into the opening of the flange which forms part of the other panel. The section for the non-rotatable projection is L-shaped and the other section is a link which can turn about the axis of the pivot pin. The non-rotatable projection is secured to the free end portion of one leg of the L-shaped section and the pivot pin connects the link to the free end portion of the other leg.
