  • Patent number: 8454878
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the production of an angle for connecting a fuselage cell skin to an annular former and/or a stringer inside a fuselage cell structure of an aircraft, the angle taking place by the one-step deformation of an initially planar blank along at least three fold lines in a uniaxial compression molding device. A mounting frame with hinges is arranged in the compression molding device, the blank to be deformed being accommodated along the edges preferably by means of a plurality of peripherally arranged springs. A deformation of the blank into an auto-stabilized angle is possible in one step while simultaneously ensuring interlaminar slide. Due to the constructively conditioned auto-stabilization of the angle, additional components which increase the weight and the assembly effort (so-called “stabilos”) in the connection region between fuselage cell skin, stringers and annular formers inside a fuselage structure of an aircraft are unnecessary.

  • Patent number: 4969626
Abstract: An adjustable culvert form facilitates fabrication of rectilinear culverts and skewed culverts that is, culverts having an angular relationship between sidewalls and span. It is particularly useful for the production of three-sided culverts. The form generally defines a parallelogram having low, vertically standing sidewalls which are interconnected at adjacent ends by hinges. The hinges may be either a conventional pair of interleaved pivots coupled by a removable pin or a unique expandable, multiple pin hinge configuration. The form is placed on a smooth horizontal surface such as a previously poured concrete slab, the surface forming the largest continuous surface of the product. The culvert is cast in an inverted orientation. The width and length of the formed product may be adjusted by the incorporation or removal of sidewall panels. Triangular sidewall panels are secured to end adjacent regions of the sidewall panels to form haunches.

  • Patent number: 4958800
Abstract: A locking hinge mechanism for concrete forms includes parallel hinge strips connected together by hinges positioned at intervals along the length of the strips. Each hinge includes provision for a wedge lock which, when fully inserted, positions the hinge strips at a secure 90.degree. angle. The hinge strips are spaced apart from the juncture of the strips, when arranged at the 90.degree. angle, so that concrete flashings do not clog the hinge. The hinge strips are in turn affixed to the side rails of the joining concrete forms to form a 90.degree. angle, such as for a column form arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4717330
Abstract: A structural component having a curved wall, such as an aircraft fuselage pipe, has a grid structure formed of box frames produced by winding tapes of fiber reinforced synthetic material, so-called prepregs, onto mold bodies. These mold bodies are then assembled on a mandrel for covering with a planking and curing whereby the tapes are bonded together to form stringers intersecting with ribs in a grid structure and whereby the planking is bonded to the grid structure. The ribs are reinforced by fiber reinforced belt segments of synthetic material inserted into gaps between adjacent short ends of the mold bodies, whereby these belt segments are bonded to the ribs during curing. The belt segments ave a width corresponding to a multiple of the width of the stringers and hence protrude radially inwardly. Preferably, an edge reinforcing strip of fiber reinforced material is arranged alongside the radially inner edge of the belt segments.
