Plural Section Hinged To Common Section Patents (Class 249/171)
  • Patent number: 4451022
Abstract: A reusable form for a formed in place concrete pad positioned near a structure. The form including two spaced side beams of a predetermined length beam having first and second ends, each of the first ends are adapted to engage the structure in an abutting relation. The form further including a front beam engaging the side beams at said second ends; a pin hinge for connecting the front beam to the side beams proximate the second ends; and transverse stabilizer means mounted to and suspended above the side beams for establishing a parallel spacing between the side beams for squaring or establishing a perpendicular relation between the side beams and the front beam.

  • Patent number: 4431393
Abstract: A mold for molding elongated workpieces is comprised of three vertically oriented quadrants and a fourth quadrant pivotally mounted relative to the three quadrants between a mold open position and a generally vertically oriented mold closed position. A workpiece is loaded into the mold by positioning end plates on the workpiece and locating the combination on the fourth quadrant by positioning of the end plates on locating pins projecting from a frame member or tilt beam associated with the fourth quadrant. Slide assemblies are then moved into workpiece engaging positions on each end of the workpiece to accurately locate the workpiece relative to the fourth quadrant. The fourth quadrant with the workpiece locked thereon is then moved into a mold closed position for molding.

  • Patent number: 4418884
Abstract: A concrete forming structure for culverts, tunnels, elevator shafts and the like, having side panels and chamfered corners. Novel two-way hinge assemblies are provided adjacent the chamfered corners and comprise two hinges and an angle iron disposed therebetween. The hinges are attached to confronting marginal faces of side panel sections and corner panel sections. Means are provided for holding the panel sections in a predetermined position to facilitate the pouring of the concrete and with the means being releasable. The panel sections and hinges are cooperable to allow the panel section to collapse and move after release of the means for allowing the panel section to be readily disengaged from the thus formed poured concrete. The hinges are lockable in a forming configuration.

  • Patent number: 4298323
Abstract: Molding apparatus for laminated foam-body panels, comprising first and second walls defining a molding cavity therebetween, the first wall including means for heating the foam during molding and the second wall comprising hingeably mounted access doors, adjustable holding and shaping means for said panels, disposed within the cavity and at least two of which are perpendicularly adjacent, means for simultaneously positioning each of the holding and shaping means, first and second movable locking means for the holding and extrusion means and for the access doors respectively, the first locking means being automatically actuated in response to the positioning means, means for simultaneously actuating and disengaging the first and second locking means, and means for filling the cavity with unmolded foam material.

  • Patent number: 4089501
Abstract: A mold for casting bullets comprising a plurality of adjacent mold blocks having paired opposing cavity portions within opposing lateral surfaces of adjacent blocks for forming casting cavities when the mold is closed and the opposing lateral surfaces are in contact has interlocking means at least partially integral of the adjacent blocks for providing a sliding surface contact for the block during pivotal movement thereof and for limiting relative movement between the blocks to arcuate separation and closure of the adjacent blocks in a plane which is perpendicular to the opposing lateral surfaces of the blocks. Means integral of the opposing lateral surfaces of adjacent blocks provide at least one pivot center of arcuate separation and closure between the adjacent blocks and means are provided for retaining at least a portion of the opposing lateral surfaces of adjacent blocks in contact during the arcuate separation and closure of the blocks.

  • Patent number: 4067941
Abstract: A series of mold cavities are made up of side plates which are pivoted on vertical offset hinges and each is movable one toward the other to define the mold cavities into which concrete is poured to form the slab. Certain of the vertical side walls have integrally related lateral wall elements which separate the side walls and complete the enclosure for the mold cavity. After the slabs have hardened, the side walls are forced apart by prying them at their upper corners causing each in turn to pivot on its respective axis and thereby opening the individual mold cavity and allowing withdrawal of the hardened slab therein.

  • Patent number: 4055321
Abstract: An inside articulated and collapsible form adapted for use in the formation of a rectangular concrete corewall and having at its corners novel three-way hinge assemblies including main hinge leaves which are movable between right angular positions wherein the four form sides with which they are associated assume extended positions wherein their panel facings conform to the outline of the inside face of the corewall to be formed by pouring wet concrete around the form, and acute angle positions wherein such form sides assume collapsed positions which are inwardly removed from such outline while the hinge leaves constitute rub rails which guide the collapsed form axially along and within the surrounding hardened concrete corewall during removal of the form the formed corewall.

  • Patent number: 4022859
Abstract: A method of producing shaped concrete blocks for hydraulics, such blocks having two spaced arms formed at right angles to each other and spaced from each other and a web interconnecting the centers of said arms, wherein said block is formed by concreting in a dismountable shuttering with the arms located horizontally and the web vertically, it being possible to use a shuttering having a stationary, lower shuttering part which has a horizontal longitudinal axis for forming substantially half of one arm of the block and two shuttering parts separatable from the formed block by lateral movement.
