Intersecting Barriers Or Sustainers, E.g., Monolith Patents (Class 249/27)
  • Patent number: 4245809
Abstract: A structural framing system and apparatus for use in the fabrication of a structural framework of selected geometric configuration of cast material, for example, concrete or plastic. The method and apparatus of the present invention includes a generally hollow hub form defined by a generally continuous shell of selected geometric form to provide a locus for radiating and outwardly extending frame member forms, which communicate with the hub form where a suitable hardenable material is provided to fill the hub form and the frame member forms to provide a self-supporting structural framework of interconnected hubs and frame members, the frame members extending divergently outwardly from the hub members. Structural reinforcements such as reinforcing steel can be attached within the hub to extend divergently outwardly through the frame form members.

  • Patent number: 4210304
Abstract: A system for casting cement uses a plurality of lightweight forms made from a ladder-like, aluminum member covered on one side by a sheet of transparent plastic. The forms may be assembled and erected in any desired and suitable shape or configuration. As cement is poured, its surface may be viewed through the transparent plastic to find and correct surface blemishes. A series of connector and optional connection points enables the system to be used in many alternative ways.

  • Patent number: 4180233
Abstract: A building construction system uses a mold set up at a construction site so that the external part of the mold is spaced clear of the internal part. Building elements including those which are functional in the construction operation are arranged around the internal mold part. Such functional elements include connecting rod anchorages around the lower region of the mold, and the like. The external mold part is moved into position near the internal mold part, and the mold is filled to form a casting. A lifting frame is arranged over the mold and adjustably connected to the connecting rods. Then the external mold part is moved away to release the casting, and the frame is lifted to raise the casting up over the mold for movement to a building site near the construction site.

  • Patent number: 4178343
Abstract: A tripling or more in the production rate of precast concrete building units utilizing reusable mold forms is achieved by casting the units vertically on a wheeled base between separable vertical mold forms. The partially cured poured concrete unit is horizontally transported on the wheeled base from between the separated molds to complete the curing independently thereof, the forms being immediately serviceable with another wheeled base for molding another unit.A building is erected on a concrete slab foundation using a plurality of precast concrete units in the form of L-shaped walls positioned as corner structure and spaced intermediate exterior wall elements and as interior partitions and roof supports.

  • Patent number: 4127254
Abstract: In forming a concrete structure, reusable modular forms are joined together to provide one or a number of tunnel-like sections. The forms include inside form units which can be connected together and aligned so that they provide a continuous planar surface. Outside form walls and other form sections combine with the inside form units in completing the form required to pour in one monolitic pour one section of the concrete structure, consisting of load bearing concrete walls, slabs, and in the case of multistory structure, (wall) curbs. Removable central keys are a part of the top surface of each inside form unit and by removing the keys, the inside form units can be stripped from a poured section, moved and positioned for pouring another section. Turnbuckles attached to each inside form unit enable them to be secured in position to pour one section and, after the section has been poured, to strip the form unit so that it can be moved and reused.

  • Patent number: 4040594
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for connecting and aligning adjacent casting forms for the construction of multi-story buildings in which upper ends of vertical panels of adjacent forms are releasably connected by an intermediate body, spaced from each other according to the thickness of a vertical concrete wall to be cast therebetween. The intermediate body projects with an end portion upwardly beyond horizontal panels of the forms for a distance greater than a ceiling to be cast on these horizontal panels. A pair of parallel structural channels are releasably connected spaced from each other the same distance as the vertical panels to the projecting portion of the intermediate body so that after casting the vertical walls and the ceiling for one story and hardening of the concrete, the intermediate body and the casting forms may be removed and the latter re-erected for the next story properly aligned on the channels which have been left in place on the cast ceiling.

  • Patent number: 4034956
Abstract: A collapsible crypt form comprises an elongate rigid upper wall and two depending elongate rigid side walls joined at their adjacent margins by elongate rounded strips of resilient sheet material. Actuating means are connected to reinforcing rails at the lower edges of the side walls to extend them away from each other to operating position and retract them toward each other to reduce the effective height and width of the form for release from a finished recess. A back plate is held against the aft end of the body to prevent entry of flowable concrete and is disconnected from the body and removed from the recess after the body has been removed. A plurality of forms are placed in side by side spaced relation on a concrete slab with their forward ends in alignment with the forward edge of the slab and form plates are secured to the forms, locking them together and preventing loss of concrete.
