Abstract: A concrete forming system combining the ease of erection and load carrying capabilities of scaffolding with a simplified erection system. Scaffold frames provide the vertical support and walers, supported by and spanning from scaffold frame to scaffold frame, provide the horizontal support. The wet concrete's hydrostatic pressure is placed on the walers, which transfer the load to the scaffold frames that act like trusses. The scaffold frames have at least two legs and are secured at their bottom to perform as a cantilever or, when the hydrostatic pressure is greater, they are secured at their bottoms and tops to perform as a truss fixed at both ends. As such, this forming system does not use form ties which results in an obstacle free form face and facilitates forms that simply hang from the walers.

Abstract: The invention relates to a perimetral slab formwork system applicable for configuring a cantilever on a base grid formwork, configured by primary beams between which formwork panels are housed. In one possible solution, it incorporates perimetral beams provided with connectors for coupling on props and a straining piece which is vertically placed between outer and inner perimetral formwork panels supported by the perimetral beams to aid in lowering a formwork stripping tool connected to the outer panels. In another solution for smaller cantilevers, it has second perimetral beams having a matching configuration with the primary beams extending with regard to the base formwork combined with perimetral clamps fitting in one of their ends provided with a connector for a prop and housing for railings.

Abstract: A stay-in-place form-work for casting a concrete structure comprises a plurality of elongate panels interconnectable in edge-to-edge relationship via complementary connector components on their longitudinal edges to define at least a portion of a perimeter of the form-work. The panels include a first panel having a first connector component incorporating a receptacle, and a second panel having a second connector component incorporating a protrusion. The first and second panels are connectable to one another in edge-to-edge relationship by: effecting a loose-fit connection by extending the protrusion of the second connector component into the receptacle of the first connector component; loosely seating a clip onto the first and second connector components; and pushing the clip against the first and second connector components to reach a locked configuration wherein restorative deformation forces associated with the clip act to retain the first and second connector components in the locked configuration.

Abstract: An igloo building block mold comprises a shell defining a pair of generally cuboid mold portions. The mold portions are offset from one another in both an upright direction extending between the top and bottom ends of the mold portions and a lateral direction extending between the end walls of each mold portion. A building block formed by the mold, when stacked on a previous row of blocks, permits inter-engagement between the blocks due to a shoulder being formed on each block which engages the corresponding shoulder of a previous block supported therebelow. The offset in the lateral direction permits side edges of each block to be inter-engaged with adjacent blocks as the blocks are placed in the desired position in the igloo structure during construction.

Abstract: There is provided a temporary post joint for remarkably shortening the term of works while maintaining high flexibility of slab-designing. The temporary post joint is used in a temporary structure comprising a first temporary post (2), and a second temporary post (5) arranged in a higher floor. The temporary post joint comprises: a bottom face formed connectable to an upper end portion (2b) of the first temporary post (2); and a top face formed connectable to a lower end portion (5a) of the second temporary post (5). The temporary post joint connects the first and second temporary posts (2 and 5) in a vertical direction, and the temporary post joint is formed operable to engage with arranged reinforcing bars and is integrally held within a slab even after cast-in-place concrete contacting with the reinforcing bars has hardened and solidified. It is possible to harden and solidify cast-in-placed concrete of the higher and lower floors concurrently in parallel, thereby remarkably shortening term of works.

  • Patent number: 7640871
Abstract: The system used to form slabs on large surfaces includes a grid structure comprised of vertical braces, support bolsters, primary beams and cross beams, all of which rest on the bolsters, with the cross beams closing the grid and providing a stiffness to the structure that allows assembly of the entire grid structure and the later positioning of the formwork panels. The bolsters provide support so that the beams can descend to a stripping position allowing to recover, before the concrete sets, both the beams and the panels. The longitudinal beams are provided with supports for the panels, constructed such that they allow the panels to hang vertically during the stripping operation. The cross beams end at a profile made of rubber or the like providing a means for sealing the grid, as well as for absorbing any possible clearances originated during the assembly of the panels.
