  • Patent number: 8931220
Abstract: An insulated window buck with integrated fastening and anchor elements for a self aligning cut or molded insulated concrete form (ICF) window buck. The insulated window buck with integrated fastening and anchor generally includes an insulated ICF window and door buck made with multiple components with a configuration that allows for the use of various type of materials' on the face and edges of the buck, and have the ability to friction fit to the inside of an ICF wall so as no external bracing or strapping is needed to keep the buck aligned with the ICF wall during concrete placement. Having a firm insulation material component on the internal portion of the buck is an integral part of the invention in that through the use of recesses in the insulation material the fluid concrete can flow into these recesses and make a permanent bond to the buck.

  • Patent number: 5843324
Abstract: A form for establishing an opening in a wall poured between a first wall form and a second wall form in a wall. In one embodiment the form comprises a substantially rigid body having an outwardly extending portion at each end for forming a recess adjacent the opening and having a supporting member for suspending the form from the wall forms. In an alternate form of the present invention, the wall form is defined by a collapsible wall form that folds inwardly from the poured wall's opening to allow for the easy removal of the form from the wall. In another embodiment of the present invention the form has an adjustable member for changing the depth that the form extends from the top of the wall forms.

  • Patent number: 5746033
Abstract: A construction method for one-step grout fixed window frames on external walls of a concrete-structured building includes the following steps. A window frame including vertical and horizontal sections is fixed with vertical lining boards to the inner side of its vertical sections to form a window frame assembly, and is then supported on an upper supporting board which has been securely attached to a concrete template of an external wall of the building. Template sealing strips are separately attached to an exterior edge and an interior edge of the vertical sections and the upper horizontal section of the window frame assembly, so that a complete molding cavity is formed. Into this molding cavity the grouting concrete is grouted and the window frame is inlaid in the concrete after the concrete is set and the concrete templates are removed.

  • Patent number: 5709808
Abstract: A formwork is to be used with a wall form assembly for forming a door opening in a concrete wall. The formwork mainly includes a parallel pair of mold frame members that are to be disposed between a parallel pair of wall form plates which confine a concrete pouring space for forming a concrete wall, and that are adapted to be mounted to the wall form plates. The mold frame members have partition plates that extend toward and that overlap one another. The partition plates are movable with the mold frame members towards and away from each other and confine a door opening that is isolated from the concrete pouring space. The formwork is easy to assemble and disassemble, is suitable for large-scale construction, and is adjustable to fit the size of the door frame that is to be installed.

  • Patent number: 5643488
Abstract: A form assembly is disclosed for forming vertical concrete walls for prefabricated apartment and office modules. The form assembly has a wall form having a plurality of internal wall forms and corresponding external wall forms. The wall form is connected to a support structure, and a plurality of hydraulic lifting cylinders connect to the support structure to raise and lower the wall form. The form assembly may also have hydraulic open and close mechanisms, hydraulic form ties and a control console for the hydraulic system. External corner mechanisms may be provided for locking the external form corners in place prior to concrete pouring. An efficient method of manufacturing the modules includes several steps. Slab reinforcement bars and conduits are layed on a slab deck. Concrete is poured over the slab reinforcement bars and conduits to form a slab. Wall reinforcement bars and conduits are erected on the slab for vertical walls.

  • Patent number: 5634302
Abstract: A positioning device for positioning a frame between two parallel form panels of a wall form assembly when pouring concrete includes a positioning plate and two seal strips. The positioning plate is adapted to be fastened to one of the panels and has a planar positioning surface which abuts against the frame and which is adapted to be perpendicular to the panel. The seal strips are adapted to be located on two sides of the frame between the panels such that each of the strips is positioned between the frame and one of the panels. A liquid-tight seal is established between the frame and the panels. Assembly of the frame and the seal strips defines between the panels a concrete pouring space and a non-pouring space which are located on two sides of the assembly. The positioning plate is located in the non-pouring space, and the frame is positioned between the positioning plate and the concrete pouring space.

  • Patent number: 5593709
Abstract: A moldplate, defining first and second planar surfaces, is constructed to have a lift foot that supports a prefabricated panel for lifting and transport. The moldplate includes support tabs that attach to a lifting truss in a manner that positions one surface of the moldplate so that a vector normal to the mold surface has a horizontal component and an upward, vertical component to support the slabs during lifting and transport to a drying station. The moldplate can be positioned in spaced, confronting, generally parallel vertical relation to a fixed, planar surface with a peripheral sidewall positioned between the two surfaces, defining a void for receiving a pourable material to vertically form the prefabricated panel.

  • Patent number: 5496213
Abstract: A foundation vent (20) for use with concrete forms (31 ) includes two frames that telescope together into a plurality of locking positions to allow the width of the vent to be changed to match the thickness of the concrete wall. The first frame (26) includes first walls (34) and a first flange (40). The first frame has a first inner end (36), and a first outer end (38). The first flange is disposed around a perimeter of the first outer end. The second frame (28) includes second walls (60) and a second flange (70). The second frame has a second inner end (66), and a second outer end (68). The second flange is disposed around a perimeter of the second outer end. A ridge (74) engages in channels (52, 58) defined by a plurality of shoulders (50, 54) disposed on the frames to allow the two frames to telescope together and to lock at various, predetermined widths. The ridge is disposed around a perimeter of the second inner end of the second frame. The ridge thus engages one of the channels.

  • Patent number: RE43457
Abstract: A window buck is formed of side walls that are extruded from vinyl. The side walls have interior channels. The side walls may be formed to effect a female-male connection between the ends of two adjoining side walls. Alternatively a locking member is provided that is sized to frictionally engage a selected channel. The edges of the side members are shaped for abutment to each other with a connector in the channels to hold the window buck together. The window buck thereafter may be placed before the cement wall is formed and is sized to receive a window frame. The window buck may be formed into selected geometric shapes. Window bucks of different dimensions may be assembled by selected sides of different dimensions from bins or pallets of presized side members.
